One of my all time favorites! The quality and service are the BEST! The food is excellent! And I LOVE the chocolate cake! It's well worth the drive! Wish there was one in Salt Lake!
Great Chocolate Cake to take home with you!
Good Steak for Dinner
We were celebrating my parents’ 60th wedding anniversary. The food was great, and they never skimp on portions. The service was a bit iffy. Our server kept disappearing for extended periods of time and other servers had to jump in and cover for him when the noticed we were waiting. But overall, it was a great evening.
This was my second time dining at Maglebys. The place is great. I really wish you would bring back alcohol.
Great and friendly
We came in for fish, and were not disappointed. Enjoyed the calamari appetizer and the blackened salmon. We were seated downstairs, in a booth, and loved the peace and quiet.
Love eating at Magleby’s. Their food is always fresh and seasoned perfectly. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. I really like that it isn’t as noisy as most restaurants. But what keeps us going back is the quality of the food. Top notch!!
Great! Beautiful building and great people.
Maglebys is a great place for any occasion but especially for dates, anniversaries or any other special occasion. This restaurant is a step up from Cheesecake Factory and is on par with The Roof.
Your food is excellent & we like that you’re local & not a Chain
Great place for a Valentine's date. Consistent good food!
Great as always. It is our go to place to eat when can get away from kids!
Waitress was outstanding and food was huge and delicious
Magleby's has the perfect ambiance! Music, flowers, great food, charming building. The staff are friendly and professional.
Nice atmosphere and great service. Steak was fabulous and setting was first-class.
The Prime Rib Dinner is the best we have had in Utah. The service is excellent and the prices are a great. The restaurant is clean and very nicely decorated. You can tell by how everything runs smoothly that they hire the best waiters and waitresses and the finest of cooks! The management and employees work like a well oiled machine. It is nice to be able to be seated as soon as you walk in and be served with such an excellent professional manner.
I commend the managers and staff for a job well done.
Thank you so much. We will be seeing you again soon.
Magleby' was very accommodating when we needed to change our reservations last minute. The snow storm delayed all members of the party the night of our reservations --but a quick call to the pleasant and professional host allowed us to bump the time 30 minutes. The service and the food were great. One member of the party commented that his steak was the best he had ever had. The steaks were cooked to perfection. All in all it was a great evening with business associates.
My pasta had water at the bottom that was soaking the bread, my boyfriends meat was not cooked to how he ordered and was hardly gooked at all. It took almost an hour to even get our food and it was cold. The cheesecake was runny and sour. Would not recomend and will not go back again. Not worth $66.
Great place. It's been around for decades, but that was my first visit. The meal service took extra time, though, and the selections on the menu we're not all available. Would have saved time if wait staff were better informed.
Excellent food and service. Can't ask for much more.
Great food, great people. This is required to be 50 characters...
Everything was excellent! Host and hostess’ were ready for our request and sat us next to the beautifully placed waterfall downstairs. It felt private for an intimate evening. I hope to visit more frequently.
Everything about this restaurant is inviting, warm and excellent. Every person that we interacted with that worked there treated us as if we were special and made our evening wonderful.
Celebrating our anniversary was complete by going to Maglebys. Delicious steak and out of this world dessert. The live piano music was a wonderful touch to the ambiance. We'll be going back to try the rest of the menu.
I went for a homecoming date and they had a special (wasn't all that special) for our group of 12, they gave us salad, dinner, dessert and drinks for 2 also included a tip for 50$. You could pick between three meals (Steak medallions, Salmon, Chicken Pasta) and then the dessert was chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and ice cream. The meal wasn't even worth the 50$ for one I wasn't even hungry for desert after my meal and they gave themselves somewhere around a 25% tip (I would've never paid that much for service because it sucked.) The salad was probably half the size that their normal salads are and the meal tasted like, well nothing really. I got the steak medallions (comes with mashed potatoes and some vegetables) and they hardly seasoned the steak, if at all. The only thing that was good about the steak was that they cooked it almost perfectly, however with no seasoning it tasted like they just plopped a chunk of a cow on my plate. The mashed potatoes were decent, and actually the vegetables were the best part. The desert was decent as well, the raspberry sauce that they were supposed to put on it didn't exist and the cake had way to much sugar in it , all the slices of the cake at our table were un-proportional (my date had a cake slice double the size of mine) and they gave me a half a scoop of ice cream. Everyone who didn't have the steak medallions said they really loved their food and, but everyone who had the steak was really disappointed. I will probably never go to Magleby's again.
We had an overall fantastic experience there. We went in and we told them we hadn't been here before and we were here for our anniversary. They found a fantastic spot to sit us by the waterfall. Super friendly. We had the brie appetizer. It was amazing!!! We both ordered our main course and didn't have to wait too long. The entrees good but not fantastic. They then surprised us by giving us, on the house, a huge slice of cake and ice cream for our anniversary. It was delectable! That was so nice of them. They won us over to try the food again some other time. Thanks for a wonderful evening!
My wife had ordered a creatively prepared filet. We had finished our salads when the wait person came and said our entrees would be delayed because the filet was thick and required more time to cook. When the entrees finally arrived, the filet was if anything on the thin side and was overdone. We ordered dessert and once again waited a long time, noting that several other parties who had arrived about the same had eaten and left while we were still waiting.
It appeared the restaurant didn't have its act together.
We have been visiting Magleby's for over 25 years! I loved working there as a student and although we live over an hour a way, I have brought my family on many different occasions. I do miss seeing Doc's spunky face, and I am glad to see that many aspects of his legacy live on. We have a tradition to dine with you before we take a missionary to the Provo MTC. This past visit was our third missionary and Doc's Wednesday lunch buffet was a huge favorite. Here's to many more years to come. Thank you for Harvey the Carver, the breadsticks, Lanora's famous chocolate cake and of course the buttermilk pie!
The manager, Chris, is outstanding. He made sure we were taken care of and went out of his way to attend to the needs of my group.
Only thing wrong was the food. Very good service, though. Specifally, the garlic mashed was cold, dry, and hard. The salmon was lukewarm and dry. The vegetables were tough and peppery. The salsa was so loaded with raw onions, there was no other flavor. Scooting the chairs makes a racket. I asked for au jus to wet the potatoes and tarter sauce for the salmon, otherwise, there was no finishing it. Very nice server and manager.
The waitresses were friendly, and provided prompt service. The food was excellent -- we enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere.
Great service and a very good desserts experience.
Outstanding food and service. Great price for what you get.
The steak was delicious. I ordered a sauce but did not use it because the steak was amazing without it, and the sauce was salty. The waitress removed it from our tab without us asking. The calamari was very good. My wife had a pasta which was also very good. When we went the place was pretty empty, so it was nice and quiet. I think we were the only table our waitress had, but she wasn't over bearing, but still very attentive.
We'll definitely be eating here again.
The service was very good and polite, the environment was clean, quiet and friendly, the food was superb both in taste and quality. It can't get much better than that.
Wonderful good and great service!
Too dark down stairs in the Grotto - I couldn't even read my receipt to add a tip - Iguessed
I love Maglebeys so much! We went here for a prom, and they were really awesome about accommodating the group and making dinner run so smoothly. Outstanding food and very great prices!
Overall a very average meal. The salad was not memorable, the prime rib had to be smothered with sauce to have moisture or flavor. Probably won't be back.
I was actually a little disappointed with the food. We got the filet mignon and it was ironically tough to eat and the use of white pepper on the vegetables was overwhelming. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and spent over $70 on our meal and not once were we asked about our occasion or congratulated, not to mention, most high end restaurants offer a complimentary dessert for special occasions as well. Our stay left me wanting more, we will not likely be returning.
