Charming restaurant with outdoor seating. Delicious food, especially smoked chicken salad.
Love the food and love the patio but the service is SO slow. We had to approach our waiter for the bill and they were not that busy.
Went for brunch with a couple other people. Our server was at our table the moment we sat down. We ordered drinks and then three different scrambles, all of which were delicious. They were large and served with potatoes and a little sliced fruit. We also had an order of the beignets which were excellent. They are served with a cinnamon whipped cream. There are 3 large beignets on the plate. We will definitely go again. Everyone was friendly and welcoming.
I adore the patio! Great food!
We've been coming here annually (and sometimes for than once/year) for years. Nice ambience, cute, easy to get here from Marin county; parking not always easy but eventually parking can be found (2 hr limit). We try to go out into the patio - a bit quieter.
Wonderfulmfood, excellent service!
The back garden area is a lovely place for lunch. It's protected from the wind, and there are heat lamps if it's chilly. We had wonderful service, and our food was quite good. My crab louie salad was full of delicious fresh Dungeness crab and fresh vegetables. The quiche my friend ordered was huge and my other friend had a healthy egg white frittata. Both of their lunch items came with a generous side salad and slices of fresh fruit. Table are far enough apart so that you can carry on a conversation easily without overhearing others. I have been here frequently and intend to return.
We had a lovely brunch on Easter Sunday at Magic Flute. We had a party of 10 people and were seated inside, in the room next to the patio. It was perfect! The restaurant was full, and yet we could easily hear one another at our table. The food and service were both excellent. We originally had made the reservation for four people, about 4 weeks earlier. Then, the week before Easter, we needed to increase to 10 people. The restaurant manager was very kind and rearranged some things to accommodate our large group. We all highly recommend the Magic Flute!
Thank you for a delicious brunch in a beautiful setting.
I met my friend early on a Friday night and was delighted to be able to easily talk while I had the best chicken marsala I have ever had! Our waiter was just the right amount of friendly and attentive. I will definitely return.
An elderly friend and I enjoyed a birthday lunch at Magic Flute. As requested, we were seated at a quiet table, and enjoyed the ambience of the pretty dining room. The service was incredibly slow, which didn't matter to us, but could have been a problem if time had been tight. The food was good – not exceptional but very competent and pleasant.
Excellent experience. Food great and they split our salad and entree for us - with no issue. Friendly - great ambiance....
First time at the Magic Flute. It did not disappoint! Lamb burger was awesome. Nice setting and we were fine on the patio even though it was cold outside.
Our favorite restaurant in the city for lunch! Phil is such a warm, welcoming host, service is delightful and dishes beautifully plated and delicious.
Excellent for all events, romantic for 2, special occasion for 2-50+, just want an excellent meal. Wonderful ambiance, great food, great service.
Best breakfast in all of SF!

I used to go here twice a week, and then life changes. Was pleased to be back

Staff is very pleasant and efficient. The beignets are out of this world! You definitely feel welcome here.
Owner was so nice and welcoming to everyone that walked in including us. Server was perfect and friendly and food was delicious.
A nice neighborhood restaurant that is always warm and welcoming.
Wonderful place for brunch with friends. Great Bloody Marys.
Very nice food and quite popular at brunch on a Saturday.
Very cute back patio! Greta service and awesome brunch menu!
Great place for lunch
It was my first visit there and from the moment my wife and I set out foot in there, we were treated like a long time customer. The owner is very gracious and welcoming. we went there for lunch/brunch and the Cream of zucchini soup was outstanding. Phil the owner asked how was the soup and I said it was fantastic. He said the clam chowder is even better and proceeded to offer a complimentary cup. It was fantastic. The Blackened Salmon and Shrimp Louie salads were perfect. Make sure you leave room for the beignets served with a whipped mascarpone cinnamon cream, strawberries and lemon curd, best beignets yet.
Excellent service and fresh cuisine. The daily specials are particularly good and the atmosphere is wonderful neighborhood Italian. Superb wine selection as well. Recommend it wholeheartedly.
I can’t remember when I’ve had a more delicious meal than the salmon/spinach/mashed potatoes Dinner and the beet salad we had before hand.
My two friends and I meet at a different restaurant for lunch every other week. We rate the Magic Flute as one of the highest. We enjoyed everything we ordered (we share) including the delicious chocolate cake with ice cream. We will definitely return one day.
Birthday well done
My boyfriend and I went there for brunch because our friends said it was their favorite go to spot. WOW the brunch was sooo yummy! The atmosphere is cozy and cute! New favorite brunch spot and definitely coming back for lunch, dinner, everything!
I've been going to the Magic Flute for 25 years, and always find Phil and his family welcoming and warm. The food is creative and consistent, and there are multiple options for a large party or a cozy dinner for two. It's a neighborhood gem, and I can't wait to go back.
Magic Flute provided an intimate, friendly, delicious meal with great service.
Lovely neighborhood restaurant that has been a part of the Laurel Village scene for many years. It had been decades since I last ate there and it didn't disappoint.
Great patio dining. Delicious brunch menu!
We had such a nice time!!
Delicious food, friends and family, it was perfect.
The owner is so hospitable.
I have been dining at The Magic Flute for 32 years. Phil LaCavera is always a friendly, gracious host and never forgets a face. The menu has something for everyone. Our most recent brunch included scrambles, omelets and benedicts; all very tasty and tastefully presented. The blue cheese stuffed medjool dates were great and the beignets finished out the meal nicely. One of my favorite neighborhood restaurants in San Francisco!
