Magic Flute

During these crazy Covid times it was refreshing to find a lovely patio to enjoy breakfast. Had the quiche and the Presidio Scramble, both outstanding. The service was friendly and not at all rushed. We enjoyed being outside, with heaters to keep the chill off, sitting in the sun. I would love to come back and try the dinner menu at this quaint neighborhood gem.

We were seated and they were very kind and our server was attentive. The food was so delicious! The only thing was that they kept reminding us they needed our table by a certain time which felt a little yucky. We had the table a good amount of time and were fine leaving by the time they said they needed the table. I don’t think they needed to continually do a count down for us. Just a little feedback. We still enjoyed our food, the service and the ambience.

Was disappointed with the quality of the burger but the beignets were fantastic and the outdoor patio was very romantic

Always the best time!

This is my 3rd visit to The Magic Flute and my second time sitting on the patio, but my first time there in the evening. The patio at night at The Magic Flute is enchanting with its greenery and hanging lights. The food was very good (we had the date appetizer, the risotto, and the salmon). Our only, small, drawback is that it took a while for them to take our order and again when it was time to bring the check. I think they are keeping their staff small due to the pandemic and limited seating and that slows things down a bit. But overall, I would recommend this restaurant and will likely return

This was most excellent meal and the salmon was done just perfectly! Seared on both sides but just right in the center. It was served on a bed of Brussels sprouts and mushrooms. Delish and the Sauvignon Blanc was really good too!

Set on the beautiful back patio and had an amazing shrimp pasta meal. Great wine great service and great ambience. Comfortable sophistication.

Overall, great dining experience and this restaurant is highly recommended! The only negative was the unpleasant interactions with our waiter. This is our second meal at this restaurant and the service was very different from our previous experience. We’re all entitled to a bad day and there’s no question we will return. The entrees were outstanding; we find it difficult to find a great pork chop and kudos to the chef for this preparation!!!

Love the Magic Flute.!Happy to be able to support it during this pandemic. Eating in the back deck is wonderful as is the food and service!

Excellent Food, Excellent Service, Outside dining truly enjoyable. Enjoyed a delicious afternoon lunch with my granddaughter, All Covid-19 precautions strictly observed.

Great adherence to Covid safety protocols. Plenty of outdoor dining in an enclosed interior courtyard so you didn't fear being run over by a car on the street. Delicious food, attentive service.

Outdoor patio dining always a winner. Food offerings are delicious, consistently well prepared, and the service attentive and friendly. Trying something new on the menu every time at Magic Flute. This time was the quiche which was very good.

Charming family-owned restaurant with a beautiful back patio. Got calamari (which was pretty good) and the salmon (great); husband got the burger and fries (great); we both tried some red wine by the glass. Good food, reasonable price for the high-cost area, and extremely attentive servers. We will be back.

The food isn't the MOST interesting/avant-garde; it's just nice Italian/American-style food with nice ingredients in a charming, romantic atmosphere. The patio has heaters and fairy lights and nice plants. Charming.

Such a great family run neighborhood spot. Everything is so well prepared and the outdoor patio is so peaceful and key these days. I love the fried olives and beignets! Support a family run restaurant that has been open for nearly 30 years. You will thank yourself.

The Magic Flute was perfect for our lunch with our friends for birthdays. The food was delicious and the service was also good. The quiche was creamy. The lamb burger was perfectly cooked. The steak for the salad and steak sandwich was yummy. They were happy to serve the cake that we brought, for a service fee, and to pack up the remaining cake for our two birthday friends. We were all very satisfied with our food. And, we stayed for quite a long time talking. It was a great day.

My new favorite restaurant!!! Cannot believe I have never been here, especially since I grew up in the city. Will make up for it for the rest of my life! What a fantastic little nugget in the city - a darling patio tucked in the back with the most special menu and the best mimosa I've had in some time. Everything was prefect - the staff, the food, the service, the ambiance - we struggled to decide what to order, and will return to try what we didn't. Cannot wait to return. Exceeded expectations in every way. Thank you so much!

This is one of the restaurants I love to go to in SF. Food is always wonderful, it is always warm and inviting and parking is relatively easy. Charming place not to be missed.

I don't think I have been to the Magic Flute in over 30 years. It is a great neighborhood gem. It was nice not to be bombarded with super loud music or a din of other guests talking. Great replacement for the closed Osteria.

This was a great location! I love the outdoor patio. We went at 11am and it wasn’t too crowded. The food was great! I got the Benedict Florentine. Would highly recommend and definitely coming back.

The Magic Flute never disappoints! Brought my mother here to celebrate a special occasion as it is her favorite place in the city. Fantastic service, food, and ambiance as always.
