Maggie's Place Ratings and Reviews
This is a really good reliable place for a quick lunch. Salads are excellent, burgers are as well. It's always crowded around lunch which tells you something. Service is efficient and the atmosphere is bustling but not crazy loud. I go here for casual work lunches on a regular basis.
This was second time we dined for lunch, this time with family. The food has been consistently great both times with good service and authentic Irish ambience. Menu has variety , daily specials , as well as pub comfort food. Salads are especially fresh and with variety. Would recommend highly for a midtown lunch, either quick or leisurely. Definitely we will return to dine here when we're back in NYC!
Maggie's Place is a great reasonably priced restaurant in midtown. The burgers are fantastic. The salads are really fresh. Service is attentive and friendly. This is a very popular place for lunch. Make a reservation for 12:00 - it gets very crowded as the afternoon goes on.
We have been looking for a venue that was close to the office and not too expensive and a great selection of food. I know, too much to ask but Maggie's certainly delivered. We had a reservation, they sat us immediately. We had a wonderful salad for lunch - and they got us out before our hour was up. Great spot. This is our go to place from now on.
This is my favorite restaurant in all of NYC. I try to go at least 2x/month. The food selection is wonderful - there daily specials divine. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I have not had one meal here that I did not like. I am trying to eat my way through their menu. This is truly one of the best pubs/restaurants I have been to. Everyone should come here at least once!!
Shepherd's Pie and the burger with blue cheese, hot sauce and crispy onions (angry burger I think) were DELICIOUS! Decently priced...it's the city so expect it to be a bit pricy. 48 including tax but not tip for the two meals plus two sodas. Great service, ambience and bread! Definitely glad we came and will come again someday!
Had Lunch on a Tuesday at 1pm, 3 people. Great place, service was spot on. Food was great, just keep in mind it's a bar menu, but with nice up scale options.
I'm Irish and for a Irish Pub in NYC it great.
The Lady wore Kilts which was nice.
4.5 out of 5 for a meal.
Maggies is conveniently located near Grand Central Station; the bangers & mash were a good size and taste-y. The Shepherd's pie was delicious but was super-heated which may explain why the bangers & mash were room temperature...(someone overcooked the shepherd's pie while cooking bangers too early).
Totally fantastic restaurant!!! I plan on going and eat my way through the many delicious items on the menu. Each time I go I order something different and it is always top notch! Love the atmosphere and the staff is very accommodating and extremely friendly!!!
Good experience. The food was fine and the ambiance was good. It has a very pub/bar feel, which was great. We ate a little earlier than I suspect most patrons arrive ~6:30pm, so the service was a little uneven. The staff was very nice, but I think we caught them between shifts or something because we had to wait a bit for drink refills, etc. Overall, I recommend. This would be a great place for groups of friends, etc.
One of the best restaurants in New York City! This place is a gem. I plan to eat everything on the menu here. Every meal that I have had here is beyond delicious ! The wait staff is friendly and their recommendations are spot on! The desserts are divine. My only suggestion to them would be to clean out their taps; the soda is always flat - so I just have the water. Otherwise, this is the place to go!
The first time I ate here it was during the week and I loved it. This time we went on a Friday night (7pm reservation) and I wasn't as impressed. They were out of the first two things my husband ordered. He finally chose calimari, but they were dry and over cooked. I had a chicken dish which was fine. A little noisier than during the week, but still fine for talking.
Of course, being an Irish bar, you'd expect the fish and chips to be good, but they were a step beyond - truly excellent! Even the tortellini and green salad - not Irish fare - were outstanding and we were still talking about them the next day! Also excellent service. Thanks!
