Maggiano's - Troy Ratings and Reviews
Personally, I thought that the prices were too high for the amount of food you got. I was expecting a ton more food for the amount of money we spent. We tried out this Italian restaurant as we tend to go to another one instead where the plates are fuller and prices are less. Same quality food, just more and cheaper. Otherwise, it was a fine experience, just a little disappointed with the prices.
Maggiano's is one of my favortite Italian restaurants. Unfortunately, my husband and I were disappointed with our last visit (Valentine's Day). We were seated in the banquet room (no ambiance). We had a small round table that would rock. When we told waitress, she said she was aware of it. When waitress asked if we liked our drinks...I told her it had too much citrus in it. She didn't ask if we'd like something else to drink. When making reservations in the future I will request the main dining room and an attentive waiter/waitress.
Excellent food, it was very crowded and the service was a bit slow, but it was Valentine's day so we expected it. We were glad we had reservations. We have been to Maggiano many times and will continue to return. I was very glad they honored our $10 coupon on a holiday!
The Maggionos is slowly losing its charm. The food tasted average (nothing to write home about). Problems on the service side are rampant. 1) Ill trained wait staff on menu offerings on what comes with the meal (managements fault not waiters fault). 2) Recommended gratuity that is printed on the receipt is being calculated including taxes!! Really!! I am paying gratuity on taxes too?? 3) When you order their classic pastas they advertise that they pack the second one for you to take home. I ordered vegetable penne primavera I got a box to take home only to realize that they packed my sons uneaten meatballs to take home and nothing about my second box of vegetable penne primavera. (Again I blame the management for their training program)
That said I mentioned this to the Manager and the manager on duty on Saturday evening a pleasant young lady did offer to get us another box but we were on a rush to leave so didn't have the time to keep waiting to get that sorted out so we left. That said all these shouldn't be pointed out by customers. So this experience to Maggionos was terrible.
Olive Garden hasn't a thing on this gem! We are always so satisfied with the dishes: exciting twists on Italian-fare, delectable classic pastas, superb serving sizes. The wait staff has always been incredible and helpful. We drive nearly two hours to visit, and it's worth it every time. We'd recommend getting reservations if stopping in for dinner, as most nights are very busy, but for good reason!
Mary Grace was our server and she was great! One thing I genuinely value and appreciate is good customer service. She was very polite, prompt, and overall pleasant. My very first experience at Maggiano was in Vegas for my wedding and it was horrible!!!! Happy I gave it another try...
Our waitress was great. Very knowledgeable of the menu. Quick and adorable. We went for an early Valentines date. Busy place so make a reservation. The food was so good. And getting a take home bag with my classic pasta choice was pretty cool. Prices are fair. Not cheap but not expensive. And you have to get the dessert sampler. I’ll be back for that alone. It was about an hour drive for us but so worth it. Thanks!
This was our first visit, celebrating a birthday, an engagement, and a new job! Great food, Wonderful waitstaff. Jorge made the experience amazing!!!!! Great food at the restaurant with additional dishes to take home let us continue our weight into the next day too!
The four of us had a great time. We all enjoyed the nice setting and great wait staff. The menu was very diverse and the wait staff could answer all our questions about each dish. The birthday surprise was delightful too, lemon cookies with a candle and a nice $10 coupon on a return visit for the birthday person. The manager came to the table to deliver that nice addition. When my food wasn't hot enough, the waitstaff took it away immediately and brought a new one, very quickly. NICE TOUCH.
I have been to this locations at least 5 times for personal and business dining. I have used this location in the past for large event catering. So when my son was turning 16 he selected Maggiano’s for his dining location. Finally I was introducing my family to this gem!!! Well - it was the worst 215.00 I have ever spent. In fact, I’d appreciate a full refund and never in my life have I asked for such a thing. It’s in the details and from start to finish it was disappointing. We were seated 15 minutes late for our reservation to the back corner table next to the kitchen. We got a basket of bread and asked for spices for the olive oil, didn’t hear about that until the waitress apologized to me for forgetting it when she handed me the bill. She suffered for that with a 15% tip instead of 20%. She asked everyone at the table if they wanted soup or salad with our meals- I git the bill and realized I had to pay for them. I had to aske for dressing for my salad because it came dry. Seriously - I have to pay for a salad that costs .90 to make when I paid 18.50 for Rigatoni D that probably costs 3.00 to make? Really? Oh and hey- at 7:00 on a Sunday night there were no Denver steaks left so my husband had to order a 40.00 Filet? Sitting here now thinking about this I realize I should probably call American Express and dispute the charge. What a disappointment from a restaurant I really enjoyed.
Placed reservations for my husband college graduation celebration. The server & staff was elite! Food was excellent! The chef brought out the food & made sure everything was exceptional. He even made us laugh. It was a true delight! I highly recommend this restuarant!
Our server, Dee, was fabulous- attentive & helpful. I had reserved a table for 6, requesting accessible seating for one with a scooter/wheelchair and one obese. The table was round & in a corner. The staff did the best they could but it left us feeling a little uncomfortable since we had to squish together. This was because we couldn’t sit in a complete circle around the table- to do so would’ve blocked servers’ access to other diners’ tables.
The service tonight was not great. We are used to more attentive service here One of our 9 oz pours was very light and the waiter did correct it. The chicken caprese salad had about two pieces of chicken. We tracked down our waiter and he did bring more chicken for the salad.
Just a sub-par experience
Dinner was good, but a long wait for main course and restaurant was not full. Our server kept checking back with us and apologizing but no exact reason was given. No excuse, really, for that long of a wait. Haven't eaten here since 2009 for the same reason. Only came because of a gift card. Good was decent, but won't come again any time soon, probably another mine years.
Excellent service - we have a family member with severe food allergies, and waiter knew ingredients well and advised of foods that our family member could eat. A manager also came out to discuss menu options and foods to avoid or that she could order.
Service was excellent, and the staff worked well as a team so we didn't wait for anything.
Would definitely go back!
