Maggiano's - Tampa Ratings and Reviews
We were late due to an accident on the Causeway and the restaurant was great with not giving us any hard times. However, our server - I am not sure of his name because he wasn't wearing a name tag was MEDIOCRE. He was very bland and didn't have much personality at all. We were a group of 12 for a birthday party so it was kind of disappointing our service was mediocre.
The parking was terrible it took about 15 minutes to find a parking spot. So make sure you account for that when you come, especially if you have a reservation. Also we had a reservation and still waited like 15 mins. I’ve been here many times but usually during lunch. I would highly recommend lunch instead of dinner as it isn’t quite as busy. The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly and accomadating.
We arrived an hour ahead if our reservation, unintentionally, but checked in just in case they could seat us early, and sat at the bar. Our hostess didn't check us in at all and gave us a useless beeper, so we were forgotten about and could've been seated sooner. We were not offered anything more than a simple apology for the error. We were seat at our original reserved time, so that made it ok. The chefs specials were pushed multiple times and when we ordered one of them it was under impressive to say the least. The flavor was leaving in both meals and made us regret the choice. The servers, plural, kept reaching over our meals, while we were eating then, to grab our glasses. While it's nice we never needed to ask, it's pretty rude to each across a plate to get the drinks. Takeaways are a nice "gift" but for nearly $100 for two meals, one shared appetizer, a fountain drink and one single cocktail, it's really the least they could do. While it isn't a bad experience, it also isn't a great one.
I️The food and service is always excellent. We have had ladies dinners and luncheons. The experience of the family dinner was awesome for a birthday. Requesting certain things when the reservation is being made and finding when you arrive everything has been setup as you have requested is a Plus. The only negative statement is the noise level. We have also had dinner in North Carolina at maggianos. We look for one when we travel.
We had party of 7. Table was jammed in corner of room. Food was OK. Very loud in room so you could only talk to person next to you. Six meals came out first, then they went back to find seventh. Two in party had salmon. One piece was large other was 2/3 the size and came out a few minutes later than first six meals. Not best experience.
The price and quality of the food were good but the service was upsetting because the server took our order and did not come back during our meal to check on us, refill waters, or ask if we needed anything. The server also charged our card for another table and did not return to fix it until we asked another server. Very disappointed.
We have been coming to Maggiano’s for years for special occasions. This past experience our jaws dropped, we could not believe how poor our experience was. The server was okay. The food was just plain not good. We had an issue with a few of the dishes as well as being misinformed on the wine. I can’t say after this last visit we will be back and that’s heartbreaking for us.
Service was extremely slow. Three tables that came in after us were served, had dessert and paid before we even received our bill. Due to time constraints we were unable to have dessert to celebrate the birthday we were there for as had tickets to a show at the Straz.
Arrived at 6 and left and 810 due to a waiter that disappeared for over an hour, food was subpar, service was horrible finally had to ask a manager where the waiter was after having enough and complaining we were given a whopping 15 percent off we should have just walked out and saved the time of trying to get the dessert and take home meals. Worst experience ever at any Maggiano’s we have been to.
Overall good...great service..great specials .. when the coupons coming to email definitely worth it you have to be careful sometimes you end up paying the next or $2 and extra $5 when you get one of the deal but we're else can you go and take home and meal to your house
Food comparable to hospital food.
What more can be said.
Service...waitress was one of the best.
Both entrees devoid of flavor.
To be fair, the management was apologetic, even cut the check and sent over dessert on the house, but that does not make up for awful food.
BTW, the dishes were shrimp scampi and spicy shrimp flaviola.
