Maggiano's - St. Louis Ratings and Reviews
Had dinner there for the first time the other night. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. Food was very good. Got the shrimp fra diavlo. Was almost shocked to see so many shrimp of the size they were. My dinner companion was also very pleased with her food.
If I had a complaint, it would be that the tables were spaced just a bit on the" cozy ' side.
Could have given 5 stars, but we waited close to 25 minutes to be seated with a reservation. We were then seated at a makeshift table stuck between the bathrooms and the buss station. The top was about to fall off the table to the point we all put our arms down on the table to hold it in place. One false move and somebody was spilling their drink. The top was broken off the pepper grinder and the Parmesan cheese was empty. My chair was wobbly and had been patched back together with screws and metal brackets. Waitress wanted drinks, appetizers and dinner orders on her first trip to the table and had clearly been given “hurry up” orders by management. Maggiano’s had clearly over-booked and we felt like cattle pushed through at a makeshift table that would have never existed if the number one priority wasn’t trying to see how many people could be crammed through in an evening. Thank God the kitchen did it’s usual stellar job on the food! My advice to Maggiano’s management..........STOP OVER-BOOKING your restaurant and hearding your customers through like cattle!
I was given a gift e card for Christmas for Maggianos and my son said it was an upscale Italian restaurant. I was very impressed with it, very elegant, nice seating(looked like leather back rests at the seating) nice tablecloths and napkins and my waitress was just excellent. The food was excellent, very tasty. I had the Famous Rigotoni "D", and the tirimisu dessert was amazing and so artfully presented! I will, when finances allow, come back here to dine! Wonderful experience!
Excellent service from the waiter, the waiter's support staff could have been more attentive. The check-in hostess was not friendly at all, mean spirited. I know it's a busy restaurant, so if you cannot handle the pressure, you need to seek other opportunities away from customer relations.
This was our first time at this restaurant. The food was excellent and the value was really good. Our waiter was not very attentive. He talked a lot about himself. He never anticipated what we needed instead we always had to ask. There were six of us and he would bring one basket of bread with either 5 or 6 pieces of bread in it. We had to ask for a refill on bread numerous times before we got it. We always had to ask for drink refills instead of him just filling our tea or water glasses. Someone else had to pre-bus our table. He was never around to take the empty plates or glasses off the table. Other than the service we enjoyed our experience.
We came for a special occasion and were treated poorly. Waitress was extremely rude never really said anything just dropped or picked things up. She seemed to be having a bad day and took it out on her tables. She pretty much gave no service and we did everything ourselves. There wasn’t even a warm welcome we were told she would get to us when she had time which was 15mins later. She placed bread on our table and walked away without saying a word. She never went over anything just asked if we were ready already. I gave her a tip because I’m a decent person but she definitely didn’t deserve anything.
Our waitress Carla must have been having a bad day because she was very rude, not pleasant, slamming our glasses on the table and had us waiting for about 20 minutes to take our order.. Instead of waiting on Carla we asked for the manager of the restaurant and Jerry was as excellent as it gets.. Also Lauren the bartender makes great drinks
Our waitress that we had on Sunday evening was cheerful, informative, polite, and witty. I think her name was Carla. The hostess who seated us was very polite. We arrived 20 minutes early for our 5:15 reservation. She read the small simple request that I put in and congratulated us on our engagement and seated us upstairs as requested immediately even though it wasn't our official reservation time. The food there as usual, was fulfilling and plentiful. As many times as I have been to the st. louis maggiano's, I have never been slightly disappointed. My fiance and I love going there for special occasions and have enjoyed it each time. We like sitting upstairs where it seems to be more private for conversations. Sitting downstairs is particularly loud at times and it's hard to have a simple conversation. To whomever is reading this review, I simply ask that you look into locating our waitress we had that night and thank her for an outstanding and memorable experience. She was a short blonde headed lady named Carla, I believe. Tell her that the guy who liked asking random questions like "do you have any popsicles?" says thank you and did an amazing job. My fiance and I had a wonderful time. Carla wished us well and congratulated us on our upcoming wedding.
This is one of my favorite restaurants, however, on this occasion they were off their game. Seating was a half hour after my schedule reservation time; the service wasn’t up to par, the waiter had to be constantly reminded of bread for the table after preparing the Olive oil, shredded cheese and pepper. The food was unusually salty and not hot.
I’m chalking this up to the busy holiday rush and will return during a more normal dinner time to see if there is a return to normalcy.
