Maggiano's - St. Louis Ratings and Reviews
The wait wasn’t long.
Our waitress was professional and friendly, but felt somewhat inexperienced. Things that were handled in previous visits very well were not as graceful. (Transitions between courses were inconsistent.)
While I appreciate their flexibility and willingness to allow modifications, the chicken I had added to my meal wasn’t as well seasoned as it would be in other dishes. The flexibility does not reach as far. The dish was still delicious however so don’t get me wrong.
We really enjoyed our evening, we were looking forward to having a very personable staff serve us but getting good food was the main goal and that was achieved.
I was HIGHLY impressed on services and the food. There were a lot of people in there and they moving them in and out with efficiency. Everyone leaving had smiles on their faces with bags of food. The portion sizes were very satisfying. Best Italian food in town.
Went to the Richmond Heights location on Valentine's Day. Had a reservation for 6pm. We waited around 15 minutes for our table. Hostess seated us but forgot to give us the special menu for Valentine's day. Waiter took almost 10 minutes to stop by. Asked him for the special menu and he grabbed us one. Poured ice water for us and disappeared. Another 10 minutes and he comes back to take our food order.(never asked if we wanted a cocktail) ordered our food and the special drink that was on the Valentine's menu. Another server dropped off 2 glasses of wine that we didn't order. Appetizer was delivered by another server. Didn't see our waiter for 10 minutes to correct our drink order. Got the attention of a server to fetch our waiter. Told him we have the wrong drinks and we also never we served hot bread and butter. He asked if we got our appetizer yet. I laughed and said yes. The plate was already removed from the table. Finally bread delivered..guess what? No butter...main course was served (by someone else) food was excellent. Had dessert. Waiter didn't ask if we wanted coffee or an after dinner drink. Bill came and it was only $22. Told Matt our waiter that it was wrong. He comes back with the correct bill. Off he goes with my credit card and doesn't come back for 10 minutes. I observed him throughout our time at the restaurant and could tell he was in over his head. We have been here twice for the thanksgiving dinner and that was thoroughly enjoyable with great service. Sorry for the long winded review. A valentines bust!
Our waitress was great, the food was amazing and the manager Jerry proactively provided a $10 coupon. It's the little things like gift card, that made the experience even more memorable for me. Anyone can serve food, but it's the customer service experience that makes a difference. I'll definitely be coming back!
On February 14th it seems as if they pre cooked the meals and was a rushed service as I was given the check without asking and told thank you for coming. My party ordered an steak entree which came out within 10 minutes of ordering. For the price of the food I would have rather gone to a cheap place such as Applebee’s who really would have cooked the food to order.
We were 10 minutes early for an 11:00 reservation. Several waitstaff greeted us and made us feel welcome, and offered us drinks before we sat down. Once we were seated, the server made us feel comfortable and took great care to answer questions . Everyone at the table had a great meal. Will come again soon.
Waitstaff good. Very knowledgeable about menu and suggesting things that our family would like. I don’t care for the breading or seasoning on the veal parmisan. Caesar salad was good with crisp lettuce and the right amount of dressing. Spaghetti side dish was good although I’m not a big fan of your tomato sauce. Chicken parm was similar with breading concern. Good wine and drink suggestion made by waitress which was appreciated. Prices near fine dining and the experience is not close to that.
The food was great. Our waiter was very polite and attentive. We were seated at a table that could be pushed together to make a larger table. So there was maybe 18 inches separating us from a very loud vulgar couple for about 20 minutes until they finished their meal. Not pleasant.
I’ve been to Maggiano’s on several occasions, usually for something special. It’s one of my all time favorite places. My husband purchased the Valentine Sweetheart Dinner tickets for our 10th Anniversary. It was a complete disappointment. It was $70/person and the food was fair. You couldn’t order from the menu. Our waiter wasn’t able to explain the 4 entree options to us prior to picking. The live band was average and out of date. If our tickets had been $20, I would have been pleased. Definitely not worth it!
