Maggiano's - Scottsdale Ratings and Reviews
Excellent service with attention to detail. The chef came out personally to our table to customize my pasta dish and tailor it to my lactose intolerance needs. Plenty of food, delicious bread and highly recommend the Chef’s special Lemon Roasted Chicken which my husband really enjoyed.
Had a night out with my girlfriend and I have to say the food was great the only thing that left something to be desired was the service, when the waitresses was at the table she was very engaging and helpful, but she wasn't around very much left to get more ice tea and never returned and just really never came around, but it was a Friday night and was busy so will cut her some slack I would recommend this place to friends just maybe not on a Friday night
This is one of my favorite restaurants. However this visit was less than great. I made a reservation and we were not seated until 25 minutes after our rereservation. I understand the timing is not exact. I was scolded by the hostess because when I made the reservation online I did not see an option for special requests and my husband is handicapped and cannot go upstairs where they wanted to seat us. When I tried to show her the reservation app to see if she could point out where I needed to select handicapped option she ignored me. The food of course was great I do wish they would have garlic bread.
What a beautiful restaurant with great food & service. Our party was there for a birthday celebration on a Sunday afternoon. We had choices from the brunch & lunch menus so everyone got what they wanted for a midday meal. There were more options than what you see online. We were able to satisfy the vegetarian and the no-carbs eaters as well as the birthday girl wanting special seafood. I was told the restaurant can be quite busy & loud in the evening but it was nice & quiet on a weekend afternoon. I’d like to return for a romantic dinner and will find out.
Let me start by saying, I love Maggiano's! It is a family tradition for our birthday dinners. This particular dinner for my wife's 52nd birthday didnot live up to our usual good standards. Our waitress seemed to be over wehlmed. It started with her spill water on me as she filled our glasses. She then ignored us for what seemed to be 15 minutes before she took our order. She didn't take our drink order until I went to the bar and ordered wine for my wife and the bartender and inquired about the service. Even after that she seemed to ignore us. We attempted to brush off the poor service and enjoy our celebration. With that said, I expect better service no matter where I go, but especially from a celebrated restaurant such as Maggiano's.
My whole experience was terrible. I had made reservations for a booth with some privacy, they sat me at a table in the cross section of 2 walkways. Then the food was inedible. My eggplant parm was swimming in sauce and soggy, and there was lots of liquid in the bottom of the plate because they didn’t drain the noodles correctly. And who serves eggplant parm on top of spaghetti? And my dates meal? An overpriced pot roast. Never again!!!!!
We had to wait over half an hour to be seated despite having a reservation. However, we were compensated with a free appetizer which were the pepperoni crispy bites that were still cold in the middle. The hostess seated us but it took the waiter almost ten minutes to attend to our table. He brought menus but did not take our drink order , starters or serve us bread. We waited almost another ten minutes for the waiter to return. Once the drinks were served, a glass of wine was served in a dirty glass which needed to be replaced. The salads and starter came to the table timely but the main course took quite a while to be served. The food was very good from salad to dessert. We probably would not return again or recommend to friends.
Our dining experience was very disapointing. The wine list is very limited. The Veal Marsala had absolutely no Marsala flavor and the meat was shoe-leather tough and terribly over done. The acompanying pasta was devoid of sauce or oil. I took the table olive oil to dress the pasta. Our server only refilled our water glasses once over a three hour period. This was an abismal example of what used to be a good restaurant.
I had read recent reviews which I have to agree with. The food is very good with large portions and nice atmosphere. But the recurring theme I have to agree with is lack of timely service. I had made a reservation for 5 guests but we were seated 20 min late....I get it, since it was New Years Day. But then it took another 20 min until we even got water to the table, another 15 until drinks and bread basket came, etc. for the entire meal. The staff was terribly busy, it was so very obvious they were understaffed. We were there just under 2 hours. Our table was attended to by a very good waitress but she had so many in her section that she couldn't do it all in a reasonable time.
We love Maggiano's and visit every time we visit Scottsdale. The food was wonderful as always. Our server was quick to help us but made it very clear to us that she wanted us to move on. It kind of hurt our feelings. We ordered quickly, didn't share, hadn't been there 45 minutes and were very happy to be there. She may have just been tired which we understand, but she was a little curt. It doesn't change our immense affection for Maggiano's and will continue to visit. Thank you.
We had a reservation for New Year’s Eve. We checked in at the host stand and were informed they were running about 30 minutes behind. Not unexpected as it was New Years Eve. We found a seat in the bar area and ordered a couple cocktails. We were seated and were informed of the features. We ordered mussels to start, which were fantastic, but we were disappointed by the rest of our meal. We both ordered the chopped salad, nothing special, and the bone-in ribeye. Maybe our mistake for ordering a steak at an Italian restaurant but we both felt like having steak. Both were ordered medium rare and very unevenly cooked. Parts were very rare (even for me, as I will eat steak close to rare), some parts more medium, some medium rare. We did not complain to our server as we did not want to send it back and wait for new food since we had plans after dinner. We finished most of our meal and opted against dessert. If we are to visit Maggianos again in the future we will be sure to stay away from steak as that does not seem to be something they do well.
I had forgotten about Maggiano's after not eating there for so long. We went there on New Year's Eve for dinner and had a fabulous meal with good wine. The appetizers we're great, the chicken piccatta was outstanding, and the service was excellent. It was very busy, but it wasn't too loud to talk to someone across the table. Will definitely return more frequently. Great value for the overall experience, and kids love the food.
