Maggiano's - Scottsdale Ratings and Reviews
Very friendly and helpful wait-staff, and wonderful Italian Food. One in our party needs gluten-free food, and the chef came out of the kitchen to talk with him about what should be done to make a meal that he could eat. Clearly they had dealt with that issue before, and made it no-big-deal. Can't wait to visit again. Reservations are a must for dinner, even mid-week.
Made online reservations for 5 with ease. Had about a 10 minute wait when we arrived. The bar area was packed but the waitress spotted us immediately and took care of our drink order. We were seated upstairs which was nice. Not quite as loud as downstairs. Food was great. Sausage and pepper appetizer and the Caprese Salad were very good as well as everything each of us ordered as our main dish. Service was very good. Our 1st choice on the wine list was not available which we thought a little unusual for that early on a Sat. night. However, there were many others to choose from. We have always had a good experience at Maggianos and will continue to go there. It is loud but you know that going in. It is a happy place!
I love Maggiano's but the hostess area really has some learning opportunities. We had a 6:15 reservation, pretty early to be getting backed up but were told they were running about 15 minutes behind. After waiting 25 minutes, I approached the hostess to ask about how much longer it would be and was told they had delivered some checks and were waiting for people to leave. We were seated 5 minutes or so later, 30 minutes + after the reservation time. At no point in my three interactions with the hostess did I get a smile, an I'm sorry, anything resembling any appreciation for being inconvenienced. Shameful. The person that took us to our table did apologize and once we got to the table, everything was fine, very good food, excellent service.
This was our first time to Maggianos and it was great. The food was very good. Our server was friendly and checked up on us. The only issue we had was that our 6 PM reservations weren't ready at 6. But we didn't wait too long and the place was packed. The portions are very large so the price is very reasonable considering you get two meals out of one entree. Overall it was very good and we would probably return some time.
What a great start! Our table was ready at the reserved time and we were ushered to an upstairs, quiet nook.
The food was delicious; thoughtfully simmered and seasoned sauces, al dente pastas, and a lasagna like nobody's mother really ever made. So much better than my homemade, I'll probably never make it again.
But, the service was the real highlight. Our young man was honest, funny, very, very informed on menu and wine items, and sincerely interested in whether we were enjoying ourselves and had everything we needed. Remarkable, truly remarkable. Ask for Nick S. He is hard working and delightful.
I don't make it to this restaurant very often, but as always it was great food. The portions were outstanding making it easy to decide on lunch the following day. I was slightly disappointed that there was no pesto dishes on the menu, but they made it up with an incredible gnocci dish.
we have dined at maggianos frequently. however this last visit
did not live up to our expectations. i had the eggplant parmesan
which was very unappetizing. it was a big blob of food with way
too much sauce. in fact there was too much sauce on all the
entrees we ordered (there were four of us). salad and dessert
were very good, service o.k.
very good value, but only if the food is excellent which it was not.
We have visited the Scottsdale Maggiano's several times and generally enjoy the food and atmosphere. Our dinner companions felt the Marco's meal was a great value. The menu offers a good variety of options. Unfortunately, the tables were entirely too close together. So much that our server was visibly frustrated. She could hardly maneuver her way through the dining area. If you want to dine here on the weekend during peak season, definately make a reservation as it's a popular spot.
We love Maggiano's Family-Style Dining! The food is not only wonderful and fairly priced, but is all-you-can-eat. Service was very good. Our server had two tables, but both parties were large. My only complaint is that there are too many tables crammed into the main dining room.
Took a long time to get waited on they said they did not know that we were their table. Mushrooms were cald in center and they took them back. They brought out our meals before they returned with the mushrooms. The mushrooms did come out good the second time. We were not done with the mushrooms when our food appaered again. Had to ask to have water refilled. The noise was not what I would label energetic even though that is what I chose but the other ones weren't appropriate either. It was just a lot of noise.(4:30) The Music was loud.Do not know how you have a conversation without shouting. Not sure why there can not be softer music where you don't have to talk loud so tables that are already on top of each other and I don't hear theirs.
Service was surprising slow for Thursday early evening. Server did not bring the extra meatball we ordered. In addition, we ordered our favorite dessert, apple crostada without ice cream. After a 20 minute wait, it appeared WITH ice cream. Pointed it out to server who whisked it away without a word. Waited ANOTHER 15 minutes for it to reappear. We were charged for the extra meatball and mentioned to the server (again) that we never received the item. She returned 5 minutes later, dumped a to-go container into our take-home bag and said, "your meatball." Service at Maggiano's is usually very friendly and efficient. This server was an exception and made for an unsatisfactory experience in our favorite restaurant.
