Maggiano's - Scottsdale Ratings and Reviews
The dinner side salads and bread were great. The veal was way too salty. We could not eat it. In the past the veal was great. Management was kind an offered to make something else. We decided not to chance it so ask for our check. We offered to pay for the drinks and salads. They surprised us by not charging us at all. We did leave a tip for the waitress. The food was not her fault.
I had a $100 macaroni grill gift card that was redeemable at chili’s, on the boarder and maggiano’s. Maggiano’s was not able to accept my card. First they said there was no relationship. Then I pointed out the fine print on their own website about where it was redeemable. Then they told me they don’t accept e-gift cards. I said your website sells e-cards, but you don’t accept them? I couldn’t get a straight answer and no one was able to help me. I called there 1-800 customer service line and they said their gift card system was done and they couldn’t help me. Fantastic service!!!!
So disappointed!!! We were seated 1 hour after our reservation time. I made a reservation two months in advance for our company holiday dinner. We had a reservation for 16 people for seven pm. When we arrived they said there will be a 30 minute wait. I asked why we would have a 30 minute wait with a reservation for 16 people, they just said "sorry, people are staying longer than we thought." I asked to talk to a manager. An assistant manager came up and said there is nothing we can do. I then asked to talk to a general manager and was told the two managers above the assistant we not working that night. A Friday night so busy we were sat an hour after our reservation!!!
Was very disappointed in our visit this time. Asked for a table up front when I made the reservation a month ago, but was given a lousy table in the back. Told them it was a birthday, brought in my own cake as was allowed, and they brought out the cake in my Tupperware. How embarrassing. Didn't they think to put it on a platter and add birthday candles to it? Also, no one came to sing, which they have always done in the past. And our server Tracey had an attitude all night. And I had even requested her when I made the reservation, as she'd been wonderful in the past, but this must have been an off night, because she had a bad attitude and seemed to be doing us a favor to serve us. She also was never around when we wanted her. Service was extremely slow. This was the 3rd year in a row we went for my daughter's birthday dinner, and it will be the last. Very embarrassing, uncomfortable and unpleasant, to say the least. What was supposed to be a great, happy night, turned into a huge disappointment.
Most of the dining experience was fine, however, the lunch combos left a little to be desired. First, the bun for my sandwich was far too toasted, and burned on the top. When the bun was replaced, it appears the insides were just plopped back in and were not re-heated. I had the Italian ham and cheese, and the cheese wasn't melted which I expected since the bun was toasted- not a very tasty sandwich at all. However, everything else was fine. One of the other people at my table who ordered the lunch combo didn't say anything but I noticed only one or two bites out of the sandwich. I wouldn't order this again unless the quality of the half-sandwich increases. I've been to Maggiano's before and have had great food before.
Our server was awful. She took forever to get us water and bread-the basics. My husband ended up drinking my water and my daughter's. We went on a Monday night and it was not busy but it seemed our waitress kept getting tables sat in her section. I guess they must have been under staffed.
The booth was back in a tight corner. The noise level was quite high. Maybe it was where we were seated but it felt like we were second rate patrons of the restaurant. The waiter was very professional; however, there was a difference in how we were treated and how other tables were attended to. I believe he was very busy.
I love this restaurant but it was a bit of a let down, this visit.
The occasion was a 75th Birthday party for my wife. From reservation to checkout, everyone worked to enhance the evening. Our server was indeed “the man”, he anticipated the needs of the group and fulfilled before being asked. I am sorry I do not remember his name but he is a keeper. Most importantly, the guest of honor was most pleased and happy, which means I get to be happy also. Very nice experience!
Love their buy one, get one to take home pasta dishes. Salads are big enough to share. Warm bread is great. And, they honor us veterans by giving a military discount. Great food whether you want to spend a lot or a more modeate amount - you have lots of options. Very attentive waiters.
The most amazing Thanksgiving dinner for us 5 who traveled from Chicago and have special dietary needs. The chef made a personal visit to our table along with server to ensure everything was suitable for our vegan and vegetarian needs. Over the top..So Thankful on this day to have had such an amazing experience
First time eating Thanksgiving dinner out. We were looking forward to spending it at Maggiano’s as we’ve always enjoyed our meals there in the past. While value was very good and staff served our holiday meal with warmth and good humor, I would have to rate the food a “c”. Turkey and stuffing were particularly dry and gravy was glutinous glop. My husband did enjoy the ham & ziti. For me, the chopped salad & desserts were the only saving grace. Definitely was not a dinner worth splurging on calories for.
This is one of my favorite gluten free restaurants in the valley. For a chain type restaurant, their food is always top notch as well as service. I had a bad server last visit but this is an anomaly. Highly recommend for anyone with gluten allergy.
We have made Thanksgiving a tradition here. We prefer upstairs as it's much quieter. This year we were in the back room which was better than the main dining area. Last year was hard to beat...excellent food, outstanding service.....this year I had to go to the manager as we sat for 45 minutes before our waiter ever came back to our table...then mumbled he got his tables mixed up. He spent a tremendous amont of time at one table chatting which we had to flag him down any time our party of 8 needed something. The manager got him help and we were pleased with the smiles and friendliness of those that helped. Our waiter, however, appeared grim and confused the entire time. Food was great and we'll be back next year....hopefully getting a friendly, efficient wait person!
So frustrating! We ordered @4:40, our pasta came out at 5:20. Angel hair pasta with sauce is all we were waiting on. She took forever to bring the bread, never did refill our water. Thank goodness for another server, he kept taking care of our water. It took us 90 min to have pasta, we missed our movie. Good grief!
The service was terrible!!! Our waitress was not attentive at all. We tried to get her attention a couple of times and it was like she was ignoring us because she would be walking right past the table. At one point we had to get up and walk to her to ask for something. When we first sat down it took her 10 min to acknowledge us and then when she was walking by I had to ask for a drink for her to take our drink order. The Time before everything was perfect. This time left a bad taste
