Maggiano's - Schaumburg Ratings and Reviews
I would not complain about our server putting our menus and the appetizers on the far corner of the table my wife and I were seated at, but I really don't like it when a server spends too much time out of view or with their back to their section. We missed a chance to change our order because the waiter somehow didn't hear us when he hurried past our table, and then we had no way to signal him because he just would not look in the direction of the tables in his section. He took our drink menu after our first round of drinks, then, when my wife wanted a glass of cabernet sauvignon he brought one he charged us $21 for. Which she didn't like, because it was too sweet. Now she didn't want to make an issue of it, so it is not his fault that she didn't like it, but maybe run through the options with us before bringing a$21 glass of wine. Finally, our bill came to $79, but the receipt said that an 18% tip was something like $22. 20% was $24. And 22% was$27. Check that math. I understand some waiters just aren't very good, but the $21 glass of wine and the grossly overstated suggested tip amounts make me feel like Maggiano's and this waiter tried to rip me off, and who knows how many others might have tipped 30% beside the receipt said it was 20%? First bad experience at Maggiano's, but it was very bad. They tried to hustle us, twice. The manager should be ashamed.
We were celebrating our son’s 18th birthday last night at Maggianos on Schaumburg. The table was decorated with confetti and a wonderful happy birthday card. We had the family style meal and it was delicious. I could not believe how much food we were served. Our waiter was kind and very helpful. We will be back again soon!!
I loved my time here! The manager came over personally and welcomed us as first time guest. He gave us a goodie back with their delicious lemon cookies, then we got more lemon cookies from our waiter to go. The lemon cookies are EVERYTHING! The food was great! The service was exceptional. I just think everyone needs to go here! I loved it.
While our meal was good tasting, our waitress needed to be reminded several times to bring refills of drinks. Additionally we had each ordered the take one home option and neither of us received our take-home meals. My friend called and got a gift card sent to them. We did not realize that we had not gotten her take-home food until we were too late to call.
food was great. always is. service was ok. she was nice and polite but I was a bit disappointed to see that I was paying $14 a glass for an Estancia Pinot Noir. If I had known this I would've just bought a bottle instead. She could've proactive about that and saved me money or at least given me a better value. Thats all. Other than that, great experience.
Even with a reservation, we had to wait for our table. It was super crowded, and I kept getting knocked in to by other patrons. When we were finally seated, it was in the way back of the restaurant where tables were packed tightly together. The table next to us was basically seated with us due to lack of room.
Our waitress was very nice, but she wasn’t too attentive. She brought me the wrong drink and then took a long time to replace it. Our drinks were often empty.
The food was delicious, as always.
The large dining room reminded me of a high school cafeteria. A din of sound and movement. The wait staff was overwhelmed. And the food tasted like the kitchen was as well. We had a banquet at the Skokie location last year and everything from the food to the atmosphere was excellent. But just eating in the dining room at the Woodfield location is an experience I will never repeat.
