Food was very good, quick and served hot. Had a reservation and did not have to wait long.
The waitress and staff were very helpful in catering to our choice of menu items. The food was outstanding.
I hated giving our otherwise wonderful waitress less then 5 stars because she was so great and attentive to our large unruly group. However one of my requests was to help make sure we had no pork in anything we ordered as we had a few people who could not eat pork. Sadly one or the dishes did end up having bacon (not stated on the menu so I also blame the restaurant). It was not realized until after the food had been consumed. Thankfully my guests were understanding about the mixup.
Celebrate step-son’s Birthday. Very patient waitress.
We had reservations for 6:15 for 7 and didn’t get seated until 6:45pm. I was told it was due to lack of hostess to show us to our table. We could have just seated ourselves. The service staff was friendly but I mentioned a $15 coupon I had and he said U could then it wasn’t brought up again and I missed out on using it. I spend including tip over $420 for 7 people. I think the food was good but the $34 or whatever it was per person for family style was way too pricey!! I’ll not recommend this place for parties of 4 or more
We went for son’s birthday dinner on a Monday night. We ordered off Classics menu, which was nice because you get a dish to take home for under $20. I got mums lasagna and it tasted a bit salty to me. My son and daughter got spaghetti and a giant meatball (his classic and hers kids) and both were about the same portion. Was surprised because the kids was $6.50 and came with drink and dessert and classics was like $16. They give good portions, minus the 4 cheese ravioli which has about 8-9 raviolis in an insane amount of sauce.
Our waitress never came back out after bringing our check to sign for about 10 minutes when we finally decided to take the kids out to the car and just ask the front host if they can bring out our to go items.
As we were leaving she stopped my husband and gave him a bag and wished a good evening. Now, going through Santana Row is a bit stressful and with two children so I didn’t think I needed to check our bag. The next day my husband looked and saw we were only given one of the three dishes. We had to go back there and find out about getting the rest of them after I phoned them to ask if I can pick them up. The manager seemed a bit fishy about what we were missing and why and I had my receipt but, he went and got our food and brought it out.
This batch of meals that we got were also incredibly salty! We lived the food but, the salt just messed up the enjoyment. I wish they didn’t drop a bottle of salt in these dishes because they are good without it.
Very good service and the food was good! Time to time I go to
Our waiter and the bruschetta tour was amazing. I had the chicken piccata which was very delicious
I really like this restaurant and the food is awesome. Only this time we got water very late and even other drinks were very late. My wife's meal was forgotten and they had to quickly make it after finding this out. Our server did gives us items for free to make up for it. I don't think it was under her control.
The service is typically bad but we keep coming back for the food. However, this time the service was finally good, but the food was so, so. Two people ordered the Caprese Chicken salad and both complained the chicken was dry.
Maggiano’s is more for focused on quantity, getting people in and out quickly, than a nice quality meal. Very sad since they used to be a place you could go for a great Italian meal.
Food is great
Made a reservation for 10 over 1 month in advance. Our table wasn’t ready. They prepared seating for 9 instead of 10. I had to get my own chair. Another chair was broken. They had no idea it was my Dads 80th bday. I noted it in the reservation. The 14yr old who confirmed my reservation I mentioned it to again when she called the day before and there was no emotion and or acknowledgment in her reply. They buried us in the farthest most difficult corner when my dad is walker dependent. The food was okay, and we had to summon the waiter twice for bread, refills on water and our kids menu desserts were forgotten too. The kids meal beverages arrived after they were done with their meal. Sad. We even left without them giving us our to go meals which were heavily advertised by our server as “gifts” when select pasta dishes were chosen. This was probably the single greatest disappointment in terms of dining experience I’ve had with family in almost 50 years. Not worth trying again, ever. Not once did a manager came over to check on us, say hi or wish us well—a practice I seem to be experiencing everywhere else but Maggiano’s. Very disappointed. You just can’t do an 80th birthday party again. I just can’t emphasize enough how you should avoid this place for any important family celebrations.
Excellent food family’s luncheon 9 Birthdays, appreciate! Thank you
The service was great but the chief put a piece of meat when the entree was supposed to be made vegetarian. They didn’t charge me for it but I didn’t order anything else after that since I wasn’t sure if that could happen again.
The portions are HUGE and when we ordered 2 appetizers the waiter didn’t even mentioned it and we ended up not eating 80% of our food.
thank you for helping to make my husband's birthday so special
No.1 restaurant in San Jose.
Service was fair. Noted that this was for a birthday but no mention from the waiter. Didn’t provide cutlery for all parties and just overall fair/slow service.
Great food, however the restaurant did indicate to OpenTable that I did not show up for my reservation.
I would definitely go back to this restaurant however I am more inclined to simply phone the restaurant to make my reservation rather than risk having to deal with the consequence of being incorrectly identified as someone who didn't keep my reservation.
We went to Maggiano's on a Tuesday evening with our neighbors, celebrating a birthday.
The service was wonderful. Our waitress asked if we were celebrating anything; we mentioned that it was our neighbor's birthday; soon we had "Happy Birthday" confetti on our tabletop, and at the end of the mail we were surprised with a complementary platter of Vera's cookies complete with Happy Birthday writing and candles.
We ordered Marco's meal for two, which is a bargain; our waitress remembered to package the take-home items for us.
All in all, a lovely evening worth remembering.
Birthday for my Step Mamma.they put decorations on the table and brought a cute little desert for her.
I had a beautiful time there celebrating “Brother & Sister Day “with my sister we were very relaxed and comfortable with great music and the most Amazing waitress ( ASHLEY) - Thank You Ashley for such an amazing beautiful spirit. I most definitely will return when I’m back in town from Chicago. I love Maggiano’s . Eric Von Brumfield (September 2019).
Lunch at Maggiano's is always a pleasure. The staff is courteous and helpful and our waitress (unfortunately I do not remember her name) was the best; friendly, attentive and inviting. The lunch specials cannot be beat. Overall a very pleasurable experience.
Thank you for making our 35th wedding anniversary that much more special!
The waitress that served our table was great. I have been to Maggiano's over 20 times and she has been the best.
I asked for straws with our drinks but had to ask again. When we place our order I asked for Tabasco for the appetizers but when the appetizer was brought to our table the server didn't have it, I asked for it again but never got it. I had to get up and look for our server to ask a third time.
Overall the service wasn't good, I had to ask multiple times to get something.
Fabulous food, for an amazing deal!!
Anthony was our mentor and server for the evening. He is TOP NOTCH!
Wife Birthday. We had a wonderful dining experience. Our server Jill was excellent!
Place was nice. Server good but she forgot to bring back our food that she took to pack.
We came on a Friday night and it didn’t seem overly busy, but the kitchen was really slow getting the food out. What should have taken 1.5 hours took 2.5 hours.
This is a classic, overpriced, Italian Restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the food is fine, just $5 more per entree than what any other good Italian restaurant would be. But, we had a coupon so it sort of washed out. Unless you have to eat on Santana Row, there are other better places.
The servers were very good! Very attentive and apologetic for the long wait for our food. However, the food was just ok. The chef’s special was so overdone, to the point of the breaded chicken being burned to a crisp. They ended up not charging for that meal. The chicken Marsala and shrimp scampi were pretty good. Not sure if we’d go back.
I haven't been here in awhile because there isn't one close to me. Met a few friends for our quarterly lunch and from beginning to end, we had a fantastic experience.
We were allowed to choose sitting inside or outside (we chose inside at first, but then switched to outside because it was such a nice day in San Jose). Shawn, our wonderful waiter, greeted us and was so kind to let me taste a few different wines before I settled on one.
I like Maggiano's because even though they are an Italian restaurant, they have other items as well. I chose the salmon sandwich, while one friend opted for the braised beef al Forno, while the other ordered classic lasagna. Because she chose the mom’s lasagna (because Maggiano’s has a buy one/get one free deal), she was able to take another meal home (it was spaghetti and meatballs for her).
I tasted everyone's dish, and all were delicious! I was really impressed with everything.
We usually skip dessert, but this time, I ordered the spumoni, while the ladies shared the apple crostada with ice cream. There was too much spumoni for me (I should have asked for just a single scoop), but I enjoyed it. Tasted like ice cream to me. The apple crostada was extraordinary delicious! The crust was the right amount to flaky and crunchy, and the apples were perfectly seasoned and soft.
We ended up being there a few hours, and I appreciate the servers continuing to come check on us even though we were finished with our meal. At one point, I asked the server to bring me some mints, and let's just say it was enough to fill up my candy dish!
Large portions, good taste 4/5 but not amazing. Fantastic waiter. Did not accommodate seating recommendation, the only real disappointment. Lots of take home leftovers unless you have a huge appetite.
We took a good friend to dinner at Maggiano's. We enjoyed it thoroughly. The food was very nice and the service was excellent. The only drawback was: My husband and I ordered the Marco's dinner for two, which includes two pastas to take home. Unfortunately, our server did not bring the two take-home pastas, and we didn't think about it until we were home.
Otherwise, a delightful evening.
Everything was great! Enjoyed the food. We took lasagna home and had another meal the next night. Awesome!
It was wonderful! We were greeted respectfully and checked on frequently, very kind servers food was so good! We really enjoyed our evening great for birthdays they surprised my boyfriend with a dessert and candles it was wonderful ❤️
