Extremely poor service. Despite the fact that the restaurant was not full were told to wait to be seated an additional 15 minutes after our reservation time. After we were finally seated, our table service was severely lacking. Our entree arrived before our drinks and appetiser, which was incorrect when it finally arrived. We went to this restaurant for convenience. We will not be returning.
It was very crowded and tables were placed very close together. Our food was good. Our server was busy so
It took sometime to find him to get assistance
The food was not fresh! The frozen food was reheated and served - Not a good experience and will not visit again
Overall, our visit was lovely. That said, the check-in/waiting process is very consuming, having to "battle" our way to the front podium to check in. Many people just wait around the podium, which makes it loud, and uneasy to hear when our name was called. There is also little area to congregate without being in the way of the staff or bar patrons.
Staff was attentive, professional and fast. Food was tasty, well presented and flavorful.
Ambiance is rather loud, but that's to be expected due to the size of the space... But it would be nice not to have people bump into my chair as they walk by (staff or patrons).
Always great for a special birthday!
Food was a bit salty and Maggiano’s salad was over saturated with onions.
Always a fun and lively place to eat. Great variety of meals to choose from. My chopped salad (my regular go-to) didn’t seem that all the water was dried off so it was a bit on the soggy side. Nonetheless, I’m a regular customer and it wasn’t a big problem
We love eating here. Food and service is always excellent!
Came here for a girls night with two friends on a Sunday evening around 6pm - were not seated til an hour and a half later when we were told on arrival that we would be seated by 6:30. Firstly we tried to order some wine, but this was not easy. I asked one of the bar tenders to assist but he said I had to order at the other side of the bar - but when I went to the other side, there was no one to take my order and everyone was at the bar eating and watching the NFL so I didn’t know how to make my order without disturbing people’s meals at the bar. I managed to find a lovely waitress who then took my drinks order to the main guy (the same one I had asked first). She later helped us, an hour and a half into waiting for a table, to find out why we had still not been seated and also took our orders so that we could have our meals sooner. Without this waitress we would have been waiting forever! Then we had further issues, Mom’s Lasagne was suddenly unavailable! So we got charged twice for pasta without this being taken off the receipt. Thankfully we noticed this after having paid. And they adjusted this after another 20min wait after paying for the bill. Tough night overall, not the relaxing evening we had hoped for!
We have two continuous issues with Maggiano’s: 1) for a restaurant that markets family style dining with multiple plates of food coming to the table, they seat parties at tables too small to accommodate that dining experience. We had to serve food immediately just to make room in the table, and 2) orders are take. By one individual and the food is brought to the table by another, and the current policy is that the staff member that takes the order is expected to get plates to the table, so there is often a lag between food arriving at the table and having plates upon which to serve it. In my opinion, the individual that gets the food to the table should be responsible for ensuring that there are plates to put the food they deliver on. However the food is delicious and ample and my parents commented the only place they’d had better Italian food was on a cruise to Italy.
We had a reservation (highly recommend) and waited about 10 minutes before getting seated, which was great. However, when we sat down, we waited 20 minutes before our waiter, Tristan, came to our table. After letting us know he would be back, he attended to two other tables, his only tables in the section, multiple times and ultimately never came back to our table. We waited another 20 minutes before asking for the manager, and that’s when our experience took a turn. The manager got us a great waiter, Brandon, and they took care of us down to the tee!! Although we had a bad first impression, both managers and Brandon made sure that we had no more problems!!! They were awesome and this is definitely where we will be coming back to for sure!!! Thank you guys for giving us such a wonderful experience and turning things around for us!
The waitress was very nice but clearly very busy. Refills were slow, 2nd glass of wine not offered etc. The food was good as usual.
Food tasted great, took a little bit for us to get seated, but overall the service was good.
I love the food and the wait staff service here. Really good wine list too. My only negative is the “lobby.” Every time I come I make a reservation. Every time I arrive I get seated 15-20 minutes late. And the waiting area has full service tables and is very crowded. It’s an uncomfortable wait.
Always love coming to Maggiano’s! Great food, great service and classic pasta to take home when you’re done!
We had a $20 off coupon which was not applied to our over $200 bill and one of our diners never received their take home meal😩
Our birthday celebration couldn’t have been better!
We were greeted with a smile. Service was good and food was great!
I wish I had remembered our servers name he was wearing glasses, but his service was solid. He made sure that our glasses were always filled with water and that our food was at our table at a timely manner. We went to Maggiano's for my godmother's birthday and I can say that the food and ambiance was terrific. Will definitely be back!
Extremely slow server. Cocktail cake at the end , took 40 minutes for that. Food is just bad
We always enjoy our visits to Maggianos, tonight was not much different. Food was good, staff was friendly, the only thing was the server struggled with some of his timing. Drinks took awhile, bruschetta appetizer was not correct on the first go around, and the check was slow w to arrive (I just put my credit card on the table to signal we were finished. We will definitely be back, just need to keep helping the server through our dining experience.
Had the 8 oz filet mignon with vegetables. The steak was amazing, cooked to perfection and they were happy to accommodate my no potatoes with extra veggies!!! Definitely will go back.
The ambiance and decor suggests that the prices would be higher, so this restaurant is an excellent value. Portions are generous. Food is tasty. Servers are pleasant but definitely over tasked with too many tables.
The food and service were very good. They give huge portions. Santana Row is always fun.
Service was perfect! Will come back again.
Food, ambiance, price, location, servicers, etc....EXCELLENT!!!
Wonderful meal and service. Great location.
My brunch experience here has been great but for my birthday dinner it's disappointing. It took a long time to wait for the bread until I had to ask someone for it. The entry is good but nothing impressive.
Then when the bill came there are various extra charges that really surprised me. When asked the waitress explicitly expressed unhappiness and somewhat rude attitude but she took those charges off.
Maggiano's is one of my favorite places to eat at. I had the eggs Benedict and it was super yummy.
Amazing customer service! The food was amazing and served very quickly. All of the staff is so polite and nice. I had an amazing dinner!
We waited quite some time for our appetizer, all the food was good except for the shrimp in on of the dishes was overcook, charred in fact but not in a good way and not supposed to be charred for this dish.
Waitress was the best. She was very helpful and always checked on us.
We had a very nice waiter I’m just sorry I forgot his name! He was always there making sure everything Was perfect! I most certainly will be back again.
The night started off rocky. We took our son for his 23rd birthday and it immediately awry. They had a booth prepared rather than the table I requested in the reservation. So we had to wait a few more minutes. When we got to our table, we got a server who by all accounts, needed more seasoning. He was very rushed and flustered as far as getting us water and going over the menu. After we ordered, as he read our orders back, he said Pinot Noir when my wife ordered Pinot Grigio. When I corrected him he replied "whatever, I have it written down ". Shortly thereafter, we got a new server named Tristan. It was night and day. Tristan was a very bright star for Maggiano's. Even as he claimed inexperience, he had the presence of a seasoned vet. When it came to our appetizers, we had to remind our wait staff about an appetizer that was forgotten, and a couple of drinks were forgotten. Our dinners arrived and we ended up having to send back 2 of the 5 entrees due to incorrect cook temperatures on Filet Mignon dishes. 1 was completely overcooked and 1 was undercooked. The floor manager, Cody came over and took great care of us. They refired the 2 dishes immediately and when Cody personally brought them back to us, he informed us that they were on the house. After our meal, Cody and Tristan came over and thanked us for our patience and understanding. Those 2 employees definitely turned a night that started with minuses into a positive and very enjoyable evening, regardless of the hiccups that occurred.
We love this place but were disappointed in some of the food for the first time ever. Everything in the past has been top notch. We hope it was just an off day and will try again.
Food is always superb! Friendly servers and staff. We always go here whenever we’re in Santa Clara. I highly recommend this restaurant! When it comes to food, they never disappoint!
Terrible service and bad food. The 3 tables around us all had the same issue.
- It took the couple behind us 40 mins to get their dessert and bill and they finally left.
- The group of three next to us sent back their dish 3 times because they said it tasted odd
- We were seated and no server came for 15 mins. The bread was stale and we offered no butter or anything with it. The shrimps were stale - shrimps from trader joe's taste much better. While leaving the server apologized to us and the three tables around us for the poor service and said management was doing a bad of job of letting in too many people. It was was a waste of a $100 dinner in Santana Row.
Every one in the staff was pleasant
We were seated immediately when we arrived
We asked if we can sit outside and with no problem we had a great table out in the patio
Most of all we had excellent service
Our waiter was amazing!!!
Great evening out on a Friday night
We sat outside it was lovely plenty of shade. Our server was so nice and helped us choose a gluten free pasta, and she even gave us a sample salad dressing to take home!
We were celebrating Kathy’s BD. The restaurant was busy.
We loved our waiter, Adrian. He was friendly and animated.
He was very helpful and answered all our questions re the
menu. We hope to see him again. He made Kathy’s BD
