Maggiano's - San Antonio Ratings and Reviews
Maggiano's has been one of our favorite restaurants for some time and the San Antonio-RIM location does not disappoint. Our food was served promptly and was hot. Our waiter was attentive and they handled a special order for us easily. The take home meal deal is quite a value.
A rare date night with my wife & w/out our son. Marcos Meal For Two is the way to go to experience a broad range of their dining excellence from appetizers to desert. This is our favorite Italian restaurant, for the authenticity, exceptional service, and value of getting 2 meals for the price of one. Maggiano's will always have a place in our hearts and stomachs! Keep up the great work!
The waiter Paris did a wonderful job to make it a special evening.
Although we had a mishap and wife food was dropped on the way to the table. You would have thought the management would have came over and said something but no. Not one sight of management. I was disappointed but didn’t let that ruin our evening. Paris did a wonderful job of making it up.
We LOVE this place. My husband is of Italian descent and the al dente pasta, rich sauce, delicious wine (one tasty red that is specifically made for their restaurant), and variety of offerings make it our tried and true place for good Italian food. Don't let the white table cloths deter you, because the ambiance adds to the eating experience. The greeters, wait staff, and managers are warm and welcoming. In spite of the many offerings, we usually choose the pasta dinner for two, because the fresh warm bread with olive oil, choice of salads, choice of two pastas and choice of desserts is all we need. And we still can't believe that in addition to the generous portions, they offer you two pasta choices to take home. In the end you get four pastas and the rest for under $50. We get 3-4 meals of lasagne, raviola, spaghetti & meatballs or sausage, baked rigatoni, and more. You need to try it!
I brought my elderly parents in for lunch to help celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary. The hostess was very helpful in getting us seated. Alex was very attentive, was patient and listened carefully. The food was delicious - I couldn't eat all of mine, but my husband said it was good even left over that evening!
My food my have been good if it wss hot, but it was cold since i had to wait for my granddaughters plate, since hers was the last one to come out of 13 plates.
We waited 15 min by the tune our server finally came back to the table said "oh they have not brought it out yet, let me foo talk to the chef"..
The plate was a child's plate of just plane noodles, She is 8 years old and just sat waiting for noodles it was ridiculous.
Then the server brought the bill telling me that because we were a large crowd that when they swipe my card that they were going to add tbe 18 percent gratuity, i ruok him I'm paying cash hee said just add the 48 dollars to our bill.
I didnt mind paying my 260 dollar bill but i did mind paying a 48 dollar tip especially thag he was not worth it. I still payed it, but never again
We went to Maggiano's on new year's eve, but for an early (5:15) dinner. Still it was very busy. Lots of wait staff scurrying around, but service was slower than expected nonetheless.
Minor issues re place settings, being approached by our waitress once we were seated (15 minutes or so), and then searching for her during the meal itself.
The food itself was very good. My wife had the tilapia and a side of spaghetti (which was forgotten when we were served, so had to follow up). I had meatballs made of chicken and fettuccine. Ordered a bottle of wine which also was slow in arriving.
Overall, because of the quality of food, we may return, but definitely not on a holiday.
I've been to Maggiano's on several occasions and it is always a pleasure. I always make reservations and we never have to wait past our time. Very effficient, friendly, and pleasant, even when they're extremely busy which is most of the time. Love this restaurant!
The food was probably okay, but the air conditioner was on, making the room temperature intolerable. The outside tem was 38 degrees. Multiple requests to at least turn the a/c off we’re ignored. We observed several people(men included) eating with they’re coats on.
I was a disappointed with the 30 minute wait after I had placed a reservation ahead of time. And then the host, had a couple of excuses as to why I didn't hear my name called i.e. it's provider's fault (At&t) and I did call your name. Both seemed questionable. However, to make up we did receive 2 desserts for free, especially since we were celebrating my birthday. Great food, great service! Noise level a lit loud with crying children next to us and it being a busy Saturday night. But overall a great time!
