Maggiano's - Richmond Ratings and Reviews
I am never disappointed at Maggianos. The food is always exceptional and the service is excellent. If I get to choose for a special occasion, it's always Maggianos. I have also had great times meeting up with friends for lunch or dinner. Thanks so much for always making our time at Maggianos enjoyable and a great experience!
Once we got seated everything was very good. However, my reservation was for 11 people and I had 7 of us there on time. They would not seat us and told me 9 out of the 11 had to be there before they would seat my party. She also told me that they would only hold reservations for 15 minutes. Once the rest of the people arrived they told me they were looking for parking however the lady still would not seat my party until they were inside. And told me she was about to cancel my reservation. Luckily my party got inside within 15 seconds of my reservations being cancelled. That policy needs to be online when making reservations and if most of the party is at the restaurant I don't see why we couldn't be seated until those other 4 people arrived.
Seating was inappropriate for a party of 4. I was seated in the isle and was bumped to many times to keep track. Baked Ziti was poorly prepared and waitress was notified. No attempt was made by management to discuss the issue. Very disappointing especially for a SPECIAL occasion. I wish I snapped a photo!
I have been going to the Short Pump location since it first opened and I have always had excellent service, until this visit. The Mom's lasagna was delicious as always and being able to also take one to go is an excellent value. However, we all would have loved to have gotten the large salad we had ordered prior to our meal arriving. An apology would have been considerate as well. Our waiter was very inattentative and the service was extremely slow. This was a first, the service has always been above par.
We were seated soon after arrival. We had a large party and needed over half there to be seated. It should say that when you reserve. They were able to immediately accommodate the rest of out group. The food was great and the prices were resonable. The portions were decent most took there meal home. Great lunch
It was my nephew's birthday and his first time at Maggiano's. My family and I love it when we are in Richmond so we thought it wiuld be a great place to celebrate. We had a nice booth. Our waiter was great! Food was hot and delicious with very generous portions. We really enjoyed our meal and the overall atmosphere. Our waiter brought out a slice of cake with candles as a surprise. Thanks for a great evening.
Our party of 7 enjoyed the evening. Noise level a little high and cramped table arrangements made it difficult to reach table without rubbing another party's chair or arm. Our server was very well versed on the menu and made several suggestions that we followed. We liked the service and food!
Maggianos is a real great place for a couple or large party gathering. Really well prepared and tasty Italian-style fare for a chain. We had a party of 11, not dissapointed in any way. There was a party of 26 in there at same time as us and they seemed to keep up with them as well. If I had to complain about something, my napkin smelled like kitchen. Soooooooo much better than the diluted food of a wanna be "Italian-food" competitor (og). Prices for any budget. Food is plentiful, bread keeps coming. Just made myself hungry!
We went for a special occasion and were blown away by the service we received. We had a party of 7, so we did the family style dining experience. The food was excellent and our server Dakota was top notch!! I would highly recommend Maggianos for any occasion.
Maggianos is a really nice Italian restaurant. Service can be slow, and there is frequently a wait on the weekend. But, the food is great and the wait staff is very professional. The value of the food is also very high. It's a great place for either family dining, even with a bigger group, or a date.
Celebrated a friends birthday. The food was fantastic as always. David was just great to us and really took interest in making our night great. Kelly, who was running things on this frigid night, was super sweet and took time out to check on us. Those diavola mussels are always the best.
My wife and I went to Maggiano's for our one year anniversary. We made a reservation, which was a good thing because there was quite a wait at the door at 6:45 on a Friday night. Overall, it was a good experience: the manager came by our table and offered us a coupon for our next visit because it was our first time there, we were given two full entrees to take home that came with our meals, the chef came to my table to talk about my food allergies to ensure I was taken care of, and the food was absolutely perfect.
Our only complaint was our server. She was initially friendly, but soon became quite the opposite. When she was going over everything, she told us the chef comes to the table to speak with anyone with allergies, then immediately asked our drink order. At no point did she ask us about allergies or give us time to tell her if we have any. I do have a few food allergies, but thought that I was just supposed to mention it when we order. We each ordered a cocktail because happy hour was ending in ten minutes, then ordered our food. I then told our server about my allergies and she became quite nasty and asked me in an irritated tone why I didn't tell her about them when she asked. I told her she did not ask or give us time to tell her, but she thought it would be a great idea to argue and tell me I wasn't listening to her. I disagreed, but told her it was no big deal. A few minutes later, when she was bringing us our appetizer, she grabbed our cocktail glasses, which were nowhere near being empty, then walked away. She walked by with them a minute later and I asked her if I could have my drink back because I was obviously not finished. She held it up, looked at me and sighed. She said she could bring me another and would charge me the happy hour price. I wasn't in the mood for another argument, so fine. This sort of behavior continued until we left.
Our server had zero personality, no smile, no sense of humor. My husband and I took our 3 adult kids there for dinner before our daughter went back to school. We were all in a great mood ready for great Italian food, wine and atmosphere. The server was not accommodating, very disappointed. Food was very good except for the Johnny’s Carbonaro, kind of bland so we don’t recommend that. Atmosphere was great, hostess was great.
I recommended we go to Maggiano's in the first place because I had great meals and service there before. This was New Years Eve! Our reservation was for 9:15 PM, and we were finally seated at 9:45 PM. They put us in a tight corner with the Christmas music playing extremely loud we could barely hear each other. When we sat down we noticed just about all of our water glasses were filthy, with some having food particles stuck to them. The waitress took those away and gave us new ones. We got our drink order in (which was just teas and waters) and it took the waitress a long time to get back to finally get our order. At about 10:30 PM our salads finally came out and then 10:45 our main courses. One of which was some sort of steak and she had ordrered it well done and it was RARE. When the waitress came back, she took it off her plate and in about 5 minutes brought her another (umm, pretty fast if you ask me). When were finally paid our bill it was 11:35 PM. It takes us 25 minuters to get home. Needles to say, my husband and I brought in the New Year not watching the ball drop in NY but on the Interstate. Not cool! I was embarrased that I had recommed this restaurant to my friends and I seriously doubt they will let me do it again.
I love Maggiano’s and it is by far my favorite restaurant. With that being said, my last visit wasn’t necessarily and enjoyable one. I made reservations for 9:15pm. I get there and I’m told they are running behind 15-20 minutes. By 9:55pm, my fiancé checked our place in line and there were 5 couples ahead of us. What was the point of the reservation? We decided to snag a booth at the bar where it was extremely cold. This was suppose to be an enjoyable relaxing evening instead it was cold and very late.
It was New Years Eve and we had an 8:15 pm reservation. We had to wait a half hour for a table, but it was well worth it. The food was delicious, the service was great, it was decorated very nice for the holidays. My only complaint was that we had cold air blowing on us from the vent.
we were there on new year's eve, reservation at 7:15, seated at 8. The service was very slow, our food was not temperature hot, then when it was time for dessert, we waiting over 30 minutes and finally asked for it to go, the manager did give us a discount without our asking, but it took way too long.
We enjoyed our evening at Maggiano's, however the seating was over crowded with no room between tables and it was VERY LOUD. While I enjoyed the food, the over crowding made for a somewhat uncomfortable experience. Being New Year's Eve, the restaurant was packed with people and it appeared that the staff had squeezed in as many tables as possible. Not good!
Have eaten here before and did not experience the over crowding. Will give them another chance, but if this contines to be the norm, will not come back again.
