Maggiano's - Richmond Ratings and Reviews
We reserved a table for 6 but were seated at a small table and squeezed in between other tables. There was not room to pull out a chair since tables were so close together and diners were sitting in close proximity to to each other. The noise level was extremely loud and we could not carry on a conversation due to the background music and other table conversations. The food was delicious but portions were small. The few times I have been there, it is always crowded and service seems slow. Perhaps another Maggiano's is needed in the Richmond area.
We enjoy Maggiano's and the food. It was very busy and crowded the time we went. We like when it's less loud and crowded. We will probably avoid going back on weekends. Everything took much longer than usual, probably b/c of the crowds. We were hoping to get the seasonal dessert, but they ran out. We spent longer than expected on the meal but the food was good.
Started out bad and got worse-Had a reservation but had to wait 40 minutes. Waitress was terrible, she didn’t take our drink orders when she came to table and greeted us. She poured glasses of water and was then gone for 20 minutes.
Food was not as goid as past visits. Shrimp Diavolo was greasy and slimey.
I spent $197 on this dining experience and was disappointed.
Maggiano's seems to be on the steady decline in terms of good experiences lately. This is the second or third time where we haven't been impressed. Not sure if something has changed at this location or the brand in general, but the food isn't as good as it used to be and the service has been slipping the past few visits as well. Took a while for the server to come and greet us after we were seated. Waited a good 30 minutes before our appetizers and salads came out, the flatbreads were Luke warm when the arrived and the cheese had hardened. When the entrees finally arrived, one of them was made wrong. The server did offer to fix it, but we had waited a while for the entrees as well so we just made do. Butter cake was decent but the special Pumpkin Cheesecake was garbage. It tasted and looked straight out of a box and looked nothing like the picture. I would recommend elsewhere before coming to Maggianos again. Also, they recently changed their menu, so I would check online to make sure what you want is still offered. I would also suggest asking if your entree has something you don't like in it. The braised beef lasagna came with Chicken Sausage inside it, and that wasn't mentioned in the description of the item.
Great food but the front desk/ customer service was rude and arrogant. Reserved a table for 9 a week in advance for wife's birthday. Checked in early 4:30 and there were many open tables but front desk girl made me keep coming back and did not give even give me a pager. Told me entire group needed to be present before seating us. Finally seated us by the back door carry out which was loud and people going in and out. I would never come back because of way i was treated but food is awesome and good deal. Management really needs to improve and TRAIN front desk staff how to respect and handle good customers.
Our family had a fantastic meal the night prior to the Richmond Marathon. We made a reservation about a week ahead of time and the seating was prompt and easy when we arrived despite the crowd. The service was top notch; our order was quick, arrived in a timely manner and the food was perfectly prepared. Our server was excellent and our glasses were never empty and we never had to ask for anything twice. The atmosphere was pleasant and never had to speak over a conversational tone even though it was fairly busy. Our service so great it was if we were the only family there. Would definitely recommend this restaurant based on the great service, quality of food and atmosphere.
I used Open Table to make my reservation. The table was just as I had asked, a booth and quiet. my dinner companion and I could hear each other but still felt a part of the restaurant. I was going to get one of their yummy salads but my companion suggested something more in line with dinner. I am glad I took that suggestion and ordered one of their chicken dishes subbing the carbohydrates for the sautéed vegetables. It was an amazing meal, so glad I have leftovers so I can enjoy it again!
A pleasant place for special occasions, with a wide range of prices. Every time I have gone there, the staff has been friendly and helpful. They do an excellent job of dealing with food allergies and other dietary needs. Service is prompt, the food is good.
This location was the worst ever. I waited over an hour for food and it still didn't come until i asked for a manager. The food was awful. The server was great and the owner was as well, however, they need more staff and better communication. I made a reservation for a large party and no one got to eat. This was a very upsetting night. The wait was long to be seated as well.
we were a little late and was still able to be seated. cocktails were excellent flood was hot and served almost immediately after receiving drink which was perfect! atmosphere was beautiful got home told everyone that should be there next date night visit. waitressr was so helpful patient and pleasant change to see.
Tables are way too close together, it was 7 of us and we couldn’t hear each other it was so loud. My food was a little too salty but everyone else liked theirs. Our waitress was a little busy so we didn’t see her except for when she took our orders and to get the check. I think if they had less tables it would be a little better so you’re not bumping into everyone trying to get to the bathroom. Kids meal isn’t ideal for anyone who has picky kids.
We've been here a few times with not much of an issue. Doing the family dining plan is expensive and time consuming, but you get what you pay for and then a little some to take home.
On Wednesday, Oct 18, We drove about an hour and 15 minutes to visit this particular establishment as we'd been here before with a positive experience. This particular visit was really disappointing. We got there at a time when they weren't busy and there were 9 of us doing the family style dinner. The food was ok, but overall we weren't impressed. The food was much better during a previous visit a few months back. As the night got busier, we found ourselves waiting longer and longer for things we requested and refills on dishes/drinks. We were given incorrect information by the staff about one of the dishes that resulted in a $24 increase on our bill in addition to some other minor discrepancies. The manager worked with us on correcting the issue and compensated us free deserts for our trouble, but had a little attitude when we asked to use a $10 coupon on our $190 portion of the bill. Using the coupon was our intent all along and the miscommunication on the dish we ordered we don't feel was our fault. However, we still couldn't shake that sense that he was agitated with us. My daughter had to go to the bathroom and on her way back she saw/heard the manager condescending our group to another employee about what had happened. Specifically, she heard "and after all that they still wanted to use a coupon." Upon spotting my daughter, he made another comment about needing to be quiet because she (my daughter) was part of that group.
What was supposed to be a very cheerful birthday celebration for my wife, ended up being a very frustratingly long and negatively climactic 2 hr and 15 mins dinner sandwiched between two 1 hr + drives. We could overhear surrounding tables voicing similar complaints.
I'm not confident we'll be in a hurry to come back.
Your event planner, Kristen was very professional and so nice to talk to. I would definitely use her to help coordinate any large event .
Our waiter, Robert was wonderful. He was so engaging and accommodating. All of the ladies loved him! The lunch went very smoothly because of his efficiency and great personality.
We were treating our elderly parents to a dinner out. We like the food, but our meal was a little disjointed. It took too long to order our wine, then the server did not get all our order so when one entree arrived with our salads, we keep waiting for the rest of the meal. We also waited awhile for the additional meal you get to take home--had to remind the server.
We had an excellent waiter who had just started at this Maggianos but who was excellent. He was very attentive to our needs and did a great job of bringing the food when it was hot. We appreciated him going out of his way to make our birthday celebration a special day.
Went for Sunday brunch but decided to have lunch instead. Did have the $5 Bloody Mary. Excellent!
Service was perfection! As always the food was very good. We had the Chicken Marsala and Butternut squash Ravioli. We had Marco’s Special and each took home a Mom’s Lasagna which is always great. Generous portions. Since we were too full to enjoy our Tiramisu we brought our dessert home to have later. Yum! Usualy a great experience. Only complaint is the tables are often too close. We had a rounded booth and I was back to back with the man in the booth behind me. They were celebrating a birthday and felt we were too close
To be relaxing for us.
