Delicious food friendly service we will be back when we are back in town:
maggianos was nice at some point. the quality and service has dropped substantially. our service was a bad joke. the food was less than average. they got less than 20% of our order right - 80% or more was wrong. i don't mind paying money for good service and good food, but sadly - got neither after dropping over $100 on dinner.
It was everythingI expect when I go to a Maggiano’s. Our waiter was attentive to the table and in-tune with the person picking up the tab (me). Everyone enjoyed the food as evidenced by multiple clean plates. And the atmosphere was exactly what I expect from a Maggiano’s.
Thanks for accommodating our party of 6 on short notice. I typically visit your locations in the DC area where it’s harder to get a reservation for a group of 6. Based on this experience, I will consider patronizing this location more often.
Food was excellent as always. Drinks were measured this time - a little disappointing. However, my biggest recommendation is that bartenders need to recognize clients that are alone and want to converse. Tonight, they were happy to talk amongst themselves and not deal with anyone at the bar.
Nothing special about the food. Not authentic itslian. Extremely overpriced.
My only complaint was even though we had a reservation, we waited 15-20 minutes to be seated. It appeared the same was true for those around us waiting. Even saw a group leave after waiting what they thought was too long. Several groups complained to the host station while we were waiting. After being seated, everything else was very good.
Enjoyed everything and sang to next table birthday
Relaxing, excellent food, wonderful helpful waiter
We did have reservations for Saturday night, but still had to wait for almost 30 mins. We were told that there were some large groups and some tables with people still sitting and chatting. We could see that the staff was extremely busy and running around, however, still courteous. Inspire of the restaurant being busy, we were served quickly and as always, food was tasty, good portion size and reasonable prices. We go there frequently, and have never had a bad experience. Strongly recommend making reservations irrespectively of which day you go
Maggiano's was busy of course but it was well worth the wait. The service was excellent and the table for two was very comfortable and we had room. Food was delicious and we left very satisfied.
Had et for 7:00 p.m. and did not get seated until 7:30. I wasn’t pleased, because why make reservations and they don’t up hold them. Our server Jason was great and food was fine.
We usually love Maggiano's but this visit was very disappointing. We had reservations for 6:15pm but still had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. The restaurant was overcrowded and loud. Our party of 8 was cramped and our table seemed to be right in the path of traffic on all sides. Several people in our party kept getting bumped by people walking by. The atmosphere was more of a circus than an enjoyable evening out with family. We were unable to carry on conversations without shouting or constantly having to repeat ourselves for each side of the table. The waiter was adequate; nothing special. While the food came out quicker than we expected for such a busy night it was not up to par in comparison with other visits. It will be some time before we return.
Had reservations for 5:45pm got to the restaurant on time and had to wait a whole hour to be seated. The lobby was extremely crowded people with reservations still had to wait 1 hr or 2 to be seated. Anytime I asked what was the hold up the clueless lady at the front will tell me and the rest of the hungry and frustrated customers the wrong information. By the time we got a table for 2 we couldnt enjoy our food the way we wanted to couldnt enjoy dessert there because we had already been in there long enough and we had somewhere else to go. Dont understand the point of making reservations if you still have to wait over 2 hours to be seated. We choose this restaurant to celebrate my boyfriend birthday and we were highly disappointed. What a horrible experience.
Each visit gets better. All I can say is "GREAT"
Way too long to wait for service, check etc. 2hrs is not acceptable.
It took an extremely long time to be waited on, salad was very late, when I got it, it was mushy and yet didn’t have any dressing. I asked for more dressing on the side and after putting it on my salad realized it was the wrong dressing. My entree was eggplant parm. Very very disappointing. Pasta was tough and eggplant wAs not fresh. I usually have very good food and am a very frequent customer. Food was really not good and this was quite disappointing for our anniversary dinner
Delicious food and great service as always!
I definitely would return to try more dishes. Service was good and staff friendly.
We had reservations for 8p, not aware they closed at 9p. Seating was at a round table that seemed to be leaning to one side where kids sat. Had to ask for plates, for bread/ food. All good came out together instead of each item, which we felt hurried. Did not have enough room for food on table plus drinks, due to family style ordering. Food was excellent, just too much at once.
I thought Sunday, March 10 would be a good time to visit Maggiano's. Not so. As soon as we got there for our 7 pm reservation, we were told a big group of 24 was just seated and took up a lot of the 2 top and 4 tops. Don't think the hostess needed to give us excuses. We did get seated at 7:05 so that was ok.
We were told by David and Jason, our servers, that they both would be covering our table since a server had called out. Too much information, The last two times that we have been at Short Pump Maggianos, we have had dual servers - and not with much success, very annoying. Who does what?? Too confusing.
After we ordered, Jason came back and said that the Mom's Lasagne that we ordered would not be ready in time - 25 minutes to be ready according to the chef. That's ridiculous - a signature item not available - that is a first. I expected a better level of service from Maggianos. My companion ordered the lasagna and then had to re-order and chose the fettucine alfredo. It arrived and the sauce was too watery and not enough sauce, no taste of the sauce in the dish - just noodles. He asked for and waited for extra sauce which helped. My dish, eggplant parmesan, was good - just not hot - the plate was hot but the eggplant was only slightly warm.
We love Maggianos, but the service and enjoyment of the meal has declined. Even if you have a large party of 24 seated, you should be able to serve and give reservations the service they deserve. Overall, a very disappointing meal. I should have called the manager and spoken to them - next time I will.
We will try again to have a nice meal at Maggianos sometime in the future and give you one more chance. I hope overall service and quality improves.
Service was a little scattered. It was busy but no busier than a normal evening. We went long periods of time without drinks and unable to find a waiter.
My mother absolutely loves this restaurant, it's her favorite place to eat and this was her birthday dinner. Thomas was efficient, patient, personable and all around pleasant. Me being a server myself, am very critical when I go out to eat and I appreciated his service. We're not always the easiest group to serve when we all go together and he was very professional. This being my brother's first experience with you all said, "I do believe this is my new favorite restaurant." He was able to cut his filet with a butter knife which thoroughly impressed us all and he cleaned his plate which he rarely does anywhere we go! With us being Italian, and all in the food service industry we are hard with our judgement when dining out especially at higher end spots and the food is just all around delicious. It reminded me of my Grandpa's cooking and that's impressive!!!! The ONLY negativity I could mention was the hostess that greeted us. I didn't pay attention to her name, but I initially made the reservation for 9 people and only 7 of us showed up. She told us to hold on a couple minutes so that they could adjust our table accordingly. I'm recovering from foot surgery, I'm in a CAM boot and could not get myself onto the high chairs in the waiting area and after having to stand and wait for about 15 minutes for them to adjust our table, I asked her how much longer it would be and her response was, "They're still adjusting your table, I told you I'd let you know when it was ready. Just a couple more minutes." Now, me 5 years ago would have hurt that girl's feelings, but me today just smiled and told her thank you and within 1 minute the manager grabbed menus and took us to our table.
Iove your experience provided in all other aspects. We will most certainly be returning!
The quality of food and service has been great for us. We live close by and often do take our from there. We can count on the food to be good. We have not had a bad experience/
Our server, David, did and excellent job within the time constrictions we gave him with trying
to get to a live performance on time.
Although Maggiano’s was extremely busy, they had enough wait staff to handle the perform their duties in a timely manner with a smile!
This was my first visit and overall I was very happy with dinner. Had reservations for 8 but not seated until 8:30 but after that everything went well. Food was decent but a good value with getting a second pasta meal for free to take home. Who does that? I ordered Alfredo and got Spaghetti and Meatballs to take home. Crazy in a good way. The cheesecake was wonderful.
Yes - it is a great restaurant! The waiter got all the details of our order correct, even those that dealt with allergies. And the food was wonderful!
Maggiano’s is one of my favorite places in Richmond. Food is always great and the service is always above expectations. Servers are very knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend for business or pleasure.
Love the atmosphere. A bit loud, but we were lucky enough to have the booth off to side so it was tolerable. Was crowded so food was a bit slow coming out, but was delicious. Prime rib was very good; a little over priced, but good. Appetizers were great and the staff there is top notch, from servers to bar tenders. Will go back again.
We had a 6pm reservation will all in the party present - Didn’t get seated until about 6:40
Eating at Maggiano's is almost always an enjoyable experience. However, dining there on a Saturday night can be more challenging. Despite having reservations through OpenTable, we had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. This was particularly challenging since we had two elderly individuals who required seating while they waited. With a number of parties being held, the noise level was very loud. The food, as always, was delicious with ample portions. But service was slow and we had to ask the manager when our food would come out. If I had to do this again, we would have come on a weekday evening.
The food was outstanding and came in an appropriate time for how busy the restaurant was. Our server was truly exceptional, he was knowledgeable of all items on the menu and made us feel welcome at the restaurant.
The food and service couldn't have been better! Their buy one, take one selections are a great deal.
Graham was the best waiter, he handled my senior mom and my young niece and nephew very well!
HAVE BEEN HERE MANY TIMES AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN A FAVORITE OF SEVERAL IN THE FAMILY. THE SHORT PUMP LOCATION HAS PREVIOUSLY BEEN DECENT NOT AS NICE AS ATLANTA OR BOCA BUT PRETTY GOOD. THIS WAS NOT THE EXPERIENCE THIS TIME OR THE PREVIOUS VISIT WHICH WAS A LARGE GROUP FOR GRADUATION DINNER. FOOD QUALITY WAS OFF AND LEMON MARTINI VERY DISAPPOINTING WE WAITED FOREVER FOR BREAD WAITRESS WAS ARGUMENTATIVE. ALSO BUY ONE TAKE ONE OPTION HAS LAPSED TO ONLY HEAVIER OPTIONS THAT ARE NOT AS APPEALING.
Maggiano's is our favorite restaurant, food and service is always great at a reasonable price
David our server was totally amazing. Seth at the bar was fantastic. Was a great evening had by all.
Dinner for two at Maggianos was a relaxing and unhurried experience. We choose Marco's Meal For Two with the Chef's Featured Pasta with crab and shrimp and Alfredo sauce and a Specialty Pasta gnocchi & Italian Sausage with Vodka Cream Sauce. Both entrees were outstanding, deliciously flavorful and creamy. Kevin was our server and he was absolutely terrific. We had a most enjoyable evening at Maggianos.
While Maggianos is usually my "go to" restaurant while in Philadelphia or Boca Raton, the Richmond location wasn't the best experience. The server was busier with the larger tables and it was very hard to get her attention.
I would recommend Maggiano's in Richmond generally. That is only because I have had better experiences in the past. We were seated by two exit doors on a cold night. We were told that the carry out door wasn't going to be busy and the other door was locked. Both were wrong. Food had to either be consumed quickly or consumed cold. As I stated, this is an unusual experience, one I will never repeat.
