Maggiano's - Old Orchard Ratings and Reviews
Service took a bit longer than usual, this was the week of Valentine’s Day however, so that can be expected. One of the entrees we ordered was the risotto with beef medallions and the steak was over cooked and the risotto was extremely salty. The other two entrees were good. Dessert took a bit longer than it should take to simply bring out a slice of tiramisu. One thing to note, I attempted to use OpenTable rewards at this restaurant and was told that they “don’t know how to do that”. From what the reward certificate says, they should be able to enter a simple number at the register and have it take off the $10, but they could not figure out how to do this. Luckily, the manager took $10 off the bill as a courtesy but just be aware of this if you plan to use your OpenTable rewards at this Maggiano’s, they don’t know how. This is one of our favorite restaurants so overall, we were disappointed. I’m sure we will be back but may look to try other Italian options in the area instead.
Maggianos paid attention to our guest with a food allergy. A chef came out and talked to him about his allergy, took his order, and it was prepared specially for him. They also acknowledged the guest's birthday with confetti, and candles and cookies.
The food is always great.
Welcoming, warm, Bianca was a great server, who never rushed us and was very attentive to our 3 small children. We ordered off the brunch menu for the first time & everything was delicious. All food was hot & brought at the same time so no one felt left out or had to wait. Will definitely go for brunch again.
Once again my wife and I celebrated my birthday with dinner at Maggiano's - Old Orchard; a $10 coupon influenced this decision. We were seated almost immediately on a typically busy Saturday evening, thanks to our reservation. The large dining area was filled as usual, and the tables were close together so the background din made conversation challenging. And the atmosphere is not very relaxed, with the servers racing to and from the tables. I decided to order from the Handcrafted Classic Cocktails menu ($9), specifically the Blackberry Bourbon Sour, but our server, Natallia, asked what my preferences were along these lines and suggested that I try the Signature Barrel Aged Cocktail ($11) instead. It took awhile before the drink arrived, with Natallia apologizing and saying that she was waiting for the drink to be made by the bar. Although I indicated to her that I like cocktails that are "heavy" and "sweet," I don't think that this one fit the bill, at least for me. As things unfolded, it appeared as if Natallia was somewhat overburdened as the wait for the courses was a bit prolonged. We split a bowl of Minestrone soup ($5.95); I usually order it when we dine here because of its hearty consistency and robust flavor. For entrees, I chose the Braised Beef Contadina ($24.95), and my wife ordered the Filet Mignon & Asparagus Risotto ($20.95). Keeping with our prior experience, we found the food flavorful and well seasoned, and the portions were more than ample. Overall, it was an fine dining experience but, considering the cost and the other factors mentioned, I think that it could have been somewhat better.
The food and service were wonderful. Unfortunately I used the parking valet service. When I went back to my car to get something I had forgotten, I found the valet kid in my car smoking an e-cig! He apologized and the Maggiano’s manager comped us dessert, but I’ll never use their valet service again.
We walked into the restaurant and we were greet by the hostess before we could say anything. Our regular table, a booth in the bar area, was set up and ready for us. Our favorite waitress, Tracy, appeared and brought our drinks and bread and butter. When my daughter arrived we decided to try something new. She had the soup and salad and I had the sandwich and salad along with a classic pasta order of meatball and noodles. The onion soup looked great and my sandwich was delicious.
With Tracy taking care of us, we enjoyed a lovely lunch and talk at our favorite restaurant.
We ordered a salad that I thought had veggies, but received a Caesar salad (for the table) instead; we chose to keep the salad as we had tickets to a show
Salad was delicious- not overly generous
My salmon was just okay- a little overdone
The Chicken Marsala was yummy as was the Shrimp Vesuvio- generous portion of shrimp
The Apple dessert we wanted to share would have taken too long, so we “settled” on chocolate cake
Very large slice- perfect for 4 to feel satisfied- excellent choice
Nice dinner and server was great
We were celebrating two birthdays. Our server could not have been better. He was so friendly and polite. He told us about the brunch and the special insert in the menu. He was so sweet, he brought out two plates of the delicious lemon cookies with a candle on each plate and sang happy birthday to us. Absolutely wonderful server, he made the night for us!!
I used to love Maggiano’s, back before it was part of the Lettuce Entertain You group. The quality of the food has seemed lower each time I go. I am also disgusted by how meat has been randomly added to some dishes like the gnocchi vodka that never had it before. My waitress was nice, and my cocktail was good. Other than those two things it was a disappointing dining experience. Maggiano’s has gone from being a quality Italian restaurant to a swankier decorated version of the Olive Garden in terms of cuisine!
I was disappointed with my visit. I asked for cream with my coffee. The cream was served in some plastic cup. The waitress was not very attentive. I had to ask for more coffee. She didn't stop by to see if I wanted more. Evidently, one of the items we ordered had to be redone. But rather than advising us, we had to ask why the orders were taking so long. The Eggs Benedict didn't taste as good as I remembered from earlier visits.
We were glad to have a reservation. Typical Friday evening, the line was practically out the door. We arrived and were immediately seated at a (as requested) quiet table. It was semi-quite, the place is normally noisy.
Our server was most attentive. Trying to decide which Chianti, he offered to bring a tasting of both selections being offered. We were glad he did, one was more significantly to our taste.
It's amazing that such a busy place and always serve such tasty food that is hot and (of course) an adequate portion.
We visit this place about 4x year and always enjoy it.
