Maggiano's - Old Orchard Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant is nothing special. The food (eggplant parmesan (cold) and chopped salad) was fair at best and the server had our entrees served before the salad. She also got the order wrong regarding the take-home selections. Maggiano's should also offer more fish entrees as an alternative to meat, salmon and shellfish. Had not been to Maggiano's in a long time - - it probably will be even longer before I venture back.
Consistently great service, great food. Maggianos meets our expectations everytime. Our meals were tasty and the kids menu was too. We've been coming here for years, and its nice to not get disappointed.
Wine listis sure to please woth options especially for their italian menu.
Thanks for making my birthday memorable.
Maggianos never disappoints. I go there to meet friends with a party of two or to celebrate a birthday with 60 guests. No other restaurant is as occommodating with dietary needs, and unlike other places, there is no upcharge for gluten free preparation. I have enjoyed every meal ever eaten there.
We met high school friends we've had for 55 years. Love your restaurant. Great food choices, well prepared, abundant portions and consistently good. Our reservation was honored at the specific time, which is important these days, especially for our age group.
We must mention our server, Jason, who could not be applauded more for his patience, his assistance with the menu and for his professionalism. The member of our group who tallied up the bill at the end got very confused, (some paid cash, some paid with gift cards and others with credit cards, and Jason handled the situation with tremendous patience, understanding and a great attitude. We will definitely visit again and specifically ask for him to make up for our folly.
Normally, Maggianos at Old Orchard is a very pleasant dining experience. Today wasn't one of those times. Our OpenTable reservation was honored on time, but they led six of us to a table for four (set up for a table of six). They changed the table without any issue. A stack of small bread plates were placed on our table - two of them still had oil and cheese on them. One napkin placed at our table had marinara sauce all over it. Our server asked about salads without ever asking for a drink order. We had to remind him that we wanted drinks!! Everyone enjoyed their salad, entree and dessert. The restaurant was very busy - and very noisy. Not as nice an experience as we've had in the past.
Our dishes were great and finish every bite. They seems to have forgotten to give the cookie you get when you order brunch. They also forgot that the last time we were there. I have tasted them and they are great. We seem to forget to ask why we did not get our cookie but usually we are so hungry when we get there that we forgot until we walk out and we other tables have it.
Our waitress was beyond fabulous. We were a party of 8, yet she managed to keep everything flowing - not rushing or keeping us waiting at any moment. There were also confetti stars on the table for my daughters birthday- just a small detail that was so kind and memorable.
Sat us in a room with 2 large party's. The noise level was deafening. Slow service. Dropped one of our friends food, or so we were told and he waited for his dinner an additional 15 minutes while we ate. The waitress forgot to bring the take home pasta for two of our guests. Overall, very disappointing.
We always enjoy visiting Maggianos and one of my favorite offerings is the "On the House" special. Overall, the experience was very good and most of the food was delicious. However, the Braised Beef Pappardelle was quite plain, uninspired, and basically tasteless with nothing more than noodles and a spoonful of bland gravy and what seemed to be small bits of leftover meat. Literally nothing else. I will not order that again. The Chicken Francese with its small but fresh salad and garlicky roasted potatoes was excellent, as were the Denver steak (large portion) and veal parmesan (consistently good). The special lobster rolls (appetizer) were quite expensive, a little too salty, and generally not worth it.
Party of two. We were led to the area by the window where almost ALL the tables for four were empty. We were led to the ONE table for two that hugs the only bit of wall with windows surrounding the rest of the area. When I asked to sit at another table the look we were given was unpleasant.
We booked thru OpenTable. Upon arrival I mentioned our reservation and it ‘Appeared’ we were checked in but after we left I noticed that OpenTable did not have us checked in. This has only happened at Maggiano restaurants. We had left when I noticed the reservation was not checked in so we drove back to the restaurant and I went up to the hostess stand again. The last time this happened I called and we were never credited with our OpenTable reservation and I got a ‘missed reservation email from OpenTable’.
It seems that parties of two are not shown to nice tables like parties of four or more. I have to speak up often. Also I put into my profile I did not want to be seated by the bathroom after a hostess insisted that was the best table in the restaurant . I guess if you aren’t in your twenties anymore or in your thirties or forties or fifties but Medicare age, we get the less desirable tables even when the restaurant is empty. Sad but true
The salad I ordered did not have enough dressing on it and the mozzarella marinara appetizer came out warm, along with our meals that were also warm and not hot like food should be served, which was disappointing being we took friends there for the first time for dinner.
We enjoyed a quiet, delightful Wednesday evening dinner. It seems everyone was home watching the World Series Game 7 - except us!
Dinner was delicious and we had a lovely waitress. Not to mention the extra pastas we took home - which we think is the "best thing since sliced bread!".
And speaking of bread, we love yours, with olive oil, black pepper and pparmesan - a meal in itself!
