Maggiano's - Old Orchard Ratings and Reviews
We ordered a salad that I thought had veggies, but received a Caesar salad (for the table) instead; we chose to keep the salad as we had tickets to a show
Salad was delicious- not overly generous
My salmon was just okay- a little overdone
The Chicken Marsala was yummy as was the Shrimp Vesuvio- generous portion of shrimp
The Apple dessert we wanted to share would have taken too long, so we “settled” on chocolate cake
Very large slice- perfect for 4 to feel satisfied- excellent choice
Nice dinner and server was great
We were celebrating two birthdays. Our server could not have been better. He was so friendly and polite. He told us about the brunch and the special insert in the menu. He was so sweet, he brought out two plates of the delicious lemon cookies with a candle on each plate and sang happy birthday to us. Absolutely wonderful server, he made the night for us!!
I used to love Maggiano’s, back before it was part of the Lettuce Entertain You group. The quality of the food has seemed lower each time I go. I am also disgusted by how meat has been randomly added to some dishes like the gnocchi vodka that never had it before. My waitress was nice, and my cocktail was good. Other than those two things it was a disappointing dining experience. Maggiano’s has gone from being a quality Italian restaurant to a swankier decorated version of the Olive Garden in terms of cuisine!
I was disappointed with my visit. I asked for cream with my coffee. The cream was served in some plastic cup. The waitress was not very attentive. I had to ask for more coffee. She didn't stop by to see if I wanted more. Evidently, one of the items we ordered had to be redone. But rather than advising us, we had to ask why the orders were taking so long. The Eggs Benedict didn't taste as good as I remembered from earlier visits.
We were glad to have a reservation. Typical Friday evening, the line was practically out the door. We arrived and were immediately seated at a (as requested) quiet table. It was semi-quite, the place is normally noisy.
Our server was most attentive. Trying to decide which Chianti, he offered to bring a tasting of both selections being offered. We were glad he did, one was more significantly to our taste.
It's amazing that such a busy place and always serve such tasty food that is hot and (of course) an adequate portion.
We visit this place about 4x year and always enjoy it.
We needed a night out and decided on Maggianos. We made our reservations and arrived a bit early... were seated with no problem. We changed our table to allow a bit more space for the children. Again, no problem. And were seated in Darien's section.
Darien was a spectacular server! Attentive with our hovering. Showed genuine concern for our dining experience. Most importantly, he treated our youngish children with respect and patience. He made sure their special requests were fulfilled and accurate. He managed and balanced the meal perfectly. He is a true credit to his profession and to the Maggianos "family"!
We had a table for eight family members to celebrate our youngest son's 25th birthday. We called in our selections for the family style meal, so we did not have to spend any time ordering food. That made the table conversations so much better, with no interruptions from waitstaff. It could not have been a better experience! All the food was fantastic, and we each had some leftovers to take home.
We have eaten at Maggiano's many times, and have come to expect excellent service. For some reason, our service at this visit was far below the usual standard. Our appetizer arrived after our entrees, and we had to ask for it. Luckily, it was a cold appetizer, so we were able to eat our hot entrees without having the appetizer get cold. Still, it was very awkward to try to juggle our entrees and the appetizer all at once on a very crowded table. I was given a meatball on the house, although I had ordered a side of meatballs, not just one meatball. The server seemed to be at the end of his shift, and was rather neglectful at the end of our meal. We stayed talking a while longer, but no one refilled our iced tea or our water, which became a problem when I had a semi-choking incident and had no water. Fortunately, one of my dining companions still had water in her glass to get me through the crisis. No one on the staff noticed this at all.
Our SERVER Jessica and the busboy (Latin gentleman with a ponytail) we’re both super friendly to my daughter. I loved how they took an interest in making sure my daughter was also enjoying her meal...not just me. She’s sold and already planned out our next visit
We patron this location on a regular basis. This particular visit was not the best. My chicken meatball dish was too salty and my husband’s carbonara was very dry. The server was lackluster and made no effort with us. We usually have great experiences here, but this time was just off.
I can count on maggianos for consistently tasty and very fresh food. I always have a craving for their eggplant parmigiana. This time the eggplant was a bit cool. I should of had them reheat, but I kept eating. The service was excellent. My husband ordered ravioli and said it was very good. I love the buy and take one home - such a good value.
A little disappointed. The food runners did not check the order and just brought the food out. Two of the four entrees were wrong. The server noticed when the plates were served. However; when one entree was brought back, it was missing some key ingredients. I’m sure the establishment wants us to “eat and run”’and turn the tables over quickly, but these mistakes makes us stay longer to wait for our meals to be corrected.
The hostess were very nice and gave my wife & I a plush corner booth. They have great food specials. Generously proportioned dishes abound. We were able to bring home desert & an extra paste for grandma (baby sitter) thank to...
