Maggiano's - Old Orchard Ratings and Reviews
We patron this location on a regular basis. This particular visit was not the best. My chicken meatball dish was too salty and my husband’s carbonara was very dry. The server was lackluster and made no effort with us. We usually have great experiences here, but this time was just off.
I can count on maggianos for consistently tasty and very fresh food. I always have a craving for their eggplant parmigiana. This time the eggplant was a bit cool. I should of had them reheat, but I kept eating. The service was excellent. My husband ordered ravioli and said it was very good. I love the buy and take one home - such a good value.
A little disappointed. The food runners did not check the order and just brought the food out. Two of the four entrees were wrong. The server noticed when the plates were served. However; when one entree was brought back, it was missing some key ingredients. I’m sure the establishment wants us to “eat and run”’and turn the tables over quickly, but these mistakes makes us stay longer to wait for our meals to be corrected.
The hostess were very nice and gave my wife & I a plush corner booth. They have great food specials. Generously proportioned dishes abound. We were able to bring home desert & an extra paste for grandma (baby sitter) thank to...

Restaurant is well located for city and suburban friends to meet. Usually there is valet parking, but it was absent on Monday. The salad never disappoints which is not true everywhere. We had to ask for bread several times, but when it arrived, it was nice and warm, crusty on the outside and soft in the middle. My friend's poached eggs were perfect. WE shared the pound cake for dessert - lushes - toasted with cold ice cream. Had a great time.
It was new years eve, but we were celebrate g a birthday. Made a reservation, but it was so crowded we still had to wait, not long- 15 minutes, and the hostess did apologize.
My largest complaint was that our waitress did not add the frequent dinner points to my account, eve though I did give her my check in # code and she wrote it down, but no points e we were added.
Went for an early New Year’s Eve dinner. It wasn’t any more busy than a Friday or Saturday night but they were short staffed. Any drink order was promptly forgotten. Their pop machine was not working so we were never asked nor given a second drink so we had to ask for our original orders and ask for water refills. Our waiter was chewing gum and constantly called the women honey and sweetie, despite our obvious displeasure. At the end of the evening when two of us, separately, mentioned it to management stating that otherwise he was very polite, they acted as if we were being unreasonable. However, the food for being so short staffed was still tastey from Caesar and chopped salads to Chicken Marsala, Chicken Fettucine and a shrimp pasta dish, to our desserts.
Maggiano's is a decent restaurant chain. Their food is good but not necessarily authentic or inventive, just plentiful. They even offer you a pasta dish to take home if you order a pasta dish...like Olive Garden has done or still does. Our server was attentive and efficient.
We come here frequently and are always amazed by the rudeness of the clientele in this area. We consistently witness the staff being abused by these “people”. As we wait for our table, we watch the hostesses being treated badly. And as we are sitting at our table we see how poorly the waitstaff is treated. Let me tell you, the service here is top notch. And so is the food. But the customers, not so much. We love this location and will always come back.
All was good with the exception of main dish - Chicken Parm which was served very close to cold. Hot food should be hot and cold should be cold. Side pasta dishes were served hot. Poor value for glasses of wine. I will return their, but not for a long time. To many other restaurants with good food and better value.
welcoming at that time was so so, the lady attending our table was awesome. I think welcoming is important and there were two people talking to each other who should have quickly stopped their conversation to attend us. And, there was not a wait line so what was the topic that they could not even stop to say give us a second please.
Maggianos is one of our go-to restaurants so today’s meal was very disappointing versus our past experiences. We usually go to Vernon Hills location but went to Old Orchard. Our meal had a poor start as 2 of our guests were shocked to find hard plastic chunk and hard pebble in the Caprese appetizer when they were eating it. It was terrible. Our server quickly reported it and the manager came over to apologize. Rest of meal was fine but we still had to pay for the Caprese appetizer. Surprised they didn’t remove it off the bill. We were in rush to get somewhere and didn’t have time to negotiate it. At least they didn’t charge extra for the plastic and rock. At least THAT was free. Truly disappointing.
