Maggiano's - Oak Brook Ratings and Reviews
We were seated quickly. Our server, Marianne, was lovely! She took the time to talk to us and made us feel welcomed. Our dinner was EXCELLENT! The Maggiano salad was indescribable. A delicious blend of blue cheese and prosciutto. My husband chose the eggplant Parmesan. I had the herb buttered salmon with spinach. Absolutely delicious on both counts! We will be returning in March. I’ve convinced my husband to try the salmon!
I think they've lost a bit of the upscale Italian restaurant feel. Not an ideal place for a nice dinner date. Felt more like a kitchen with dining. Table cloth was dirty and the place just felt old. Having pin-ups in the men's bathroom is a total turn-off, and especially not family friendly. What do you tell your teenage boy (or younger)? It's a good'ole boy's place that needs to step-up their game. Food portions are smaller (a good thing), but you always leave with leftovers which is still nice. Staff is always in a hurry - granted it was a busy night (Valentine's Day) but those eating with reservations don't want to see/hear that. It's supposed to be a relaxing evening enjoying good food, wine and company.
The food was AMAZING as always and the prices are extremely reasonable. Our bill was only $24 as I expected it to be twice that for the quality of the food. Our waitress was on top of everything and made sure to check up on our table to see how we were doing multiple times. Amazing service and quality of food. Highly recommend.
Pre-Valentine’s Day dinner that couldn’t have gone better. The food was exactly how my wife and I requested and this restaurant even had a three course special for the holiday that made the meal very affordable. Our server was attentive without being overwhelming and offered good input on what the best wines and deserts were. And the dessert, oh my goodness, hazelnut cookie crumble cake, if you haven’t tried it you are honestly missing out. Whole evening was delightful.
Via my OpenTable reservation, we noted we were dining for a birthday. When we arrived at the restaurant, we told the waiter we were celebrating a birthday that day (their actual bday) after he asked if there was a special occasion. He never said Happy Birthday, never brought a candle or anything, even after we watched multiple other tables gets the special treatment. My kids were so disappointed as they wanted to sing and celebrate. Our waiter, Joe (or Joel?) was a bit of a disappointment.
My wife had 30 in birthday money and was informed we couldn’t use it on a Saturday after 3pm. Ok, whatever. But then the waiter didn’t bring the 2 kids deserts that came with meal and didn’t bring us desert menu after we asked for it. We were rushed out of the restaurant without receiving the kids whole meal.
Average chain-y Italian food.
Pasta was overcooked and sauces were bland.
Entree salad had 6 blue cheese crumbles and maybe 4 microscopic pieces of pancetta. Basically all you can eat lettuce for $15.
Skip Maggiano's if you are looking for a good Italian meal.
We have been to Maggianos many times. This time we were a little disappointed with the hostesses (the waitress Marianne was great) being a little rude. Our reservation was for 8:30 pm (we arrived at 8:25). After waiting 45+ minutes we went to ask when our table would be ready. the hostess told my husband "hard to say". How about, "I'm sorry for your wait, we seem to be extremely busy tonight. We'll seat you as soon as we can." Why EVEN make a reservation if it's going to be honored 45+ minutes AFTERWARD?! There are MANY good restaurants in Oak Brook to choose from.
I had dinner with my husband tonight and it was amazing. We both work in the restaurant industry so we don’t get to go out much. Pepe was impressive, he had a full section yet he gave us a lot of attention and our food was timed perfect. It was our first time at Maggiano’s, WE WILL DEFINITELY BE RETURNING!! Once again great service overall!!
I made a reservation ahead of time, but when we got there our table was not ready and had to wait over 30 minutes. I had been in contact with a CSR and she suggested a private room- at no additional charge, for which I agreed. While communication with her, I also asked her to increase the number of guests for two more persons. When we arrived at the restaurant nobody seem to know anything about the private room or the additional two people I had requested ahead of time. All in all I thought the food was just ok, my dish was actually too salty, but the waiter's service very good. Not sure I'll be going back in the near future.
