Maggiano's - Northpark Ratings and Reviews
Apparently it was a busy day. We had a reservation, and were seated, but table location was at a very busy aisle of the restaurant. The waiter was excellent, food very good, but the washroom and other parts of the restaurant were untidy, especially the restroom which needed much attention.
We've come here every time we're in Dallas for years now, this was our first less than stellar experience. The service was slow, the sauces watered down, and entrees came before the appetizers. We hope this was an aberration, and not an indication of permanent changes made to one of our favorite restaurants.
I was seated at my table and it took the waiter a full 15 minutes to ackowledge me there. Then he left I’m the middle of our order to check on someone else’s food. The final straw was we ordered a pitcher of sangria and he filled the wine glasses so much with ice that half the sangria went all over the table fo all three of us and he never noticed or apologized. I have been the Maggianos all over the country and this was my worst experience. And the manager never did a table visit to see how things were going. Jaime was my server at table 60/1 on 12/6. I will never go back to Maggianos at northpark!!!
always love their food - eggplant parmesan is my favorite. love the new bruschetta bar where you choose types. service was completely subpar - waiter knew NADA about the wines or sangria ("I don't drink wine" was the response with no offer to get help) and rarely saw him. Bathroom was a mess, as was restaurant, despite it being late afternoon/early evening. Dirty table next to us stayed unbussed for 45 minutes, yet wait in the lobby for people to be seated.
Our reservation was at 6:30 on Thanksgiving. We had 5 in our party and paid $40 per person for a family style meal. The food look like it had been thrown on the plates in a hurry and didn't look appetizing. There were four offerings, but they were out of 2 of the entrees and 2 of the desserts. There were no substitutions for people wanting side dishes that weren't so heavy. Mixed vegetables or any green vegetable would have been nice for the vegetarians. I had to keep an eye on where my mother placed her tea glass, because there was a hole in the table pad which made the surface uneven. The fish was fishy tasting with a funky gravy. Not a good dining experience for any of us. The waiter did a nice job and was apologetic, but he wasn't running the kitchen. Better places in Dallas to dine.
A few years ago I discovered Maggino's for Thanksgiving. The amount of food one gets for the price is unbelievable. There were three of us back then. Well, there is just me now, and yet it was still just incredible. The service Ralph gave was impeccable. The food was wonderful and the price was perfect, especially for the amount of food. I not only ate Thanksgiving meal, but have had four more meals since. Great time!
I have been going to Maggiano’s for years and have loved every dining experience in each city location I’ve visited (all 3 Atlanta sites several times, Nashville, Houston, Plano). However, I will not be going back to Dallas Northpark location. The waitress was very junior and lacked in overall customer service to make our dining experience special. While other tables were receiving bread baskets, we had to ask for some bread as she said it was optional and had to be requested - could she not have offered that choice? Oh then, we ordered a $60 bottle of champagne, and she brought us wine glasses. As the meal went on, crumbs formed throughout on our table - never once did she attempt to clear them. When dessert came out, luckily someone else beat her to giving us forks for our cakes as she brought out spoons. She answered more with “no” cannot do than with “yes”. Sorry when you pay prices at Maggiano’s, you expect some pampering with the dining experience. I did not complain to management - It was Thanksgiving Day, and yes, I left an 18% tip.
My husband and I visit this location 3-5 times per year, and we've never had an issue. We had family in town over Thanksgiving week, and we wanted to treat our parents to a nice dinner. They are vegans, but we assured them that Maggiano's would work around their needs. When we were seated it took 25 minutes before a waiter visited our table. He told us a different waiter would be taking care of us, but then a few minutes later he returned and hesitantly let us know "I guess I will be your waiter." There didn't seem to be any issues during our order, and my parents were able to get their specific food needs adjusted in their dishes. However, in a few minutes when the salads arrived, one was missing. It only went downhill from there. When we asked him about it, he seemed confused, but then brought the wrong salad a few minutes later. My parents didn't want to send it back, but we insisted. They brought the SAME WRONG SALAD back again. This time my dad just ate it and picked out the meat and cheese. The same thing happened with his entree. It went back to the kitchen TWICE before it was correct, and the second time the wait staff rolled his eyes when we insisted he correct the mistake. Eventually a DIFFERENT waiter said he was taking over, but didn't tell the first waiter, so they both tried taking our dessert order and taking care of our take-home entrees. It was a disaster, and we never received an apology for all the mistakes. I was so embarrassed, and I informed the manager after we paid our bill.
I normally would recommend this Maggiano's, but if you have ANY food issues or allergies, I'd have to recommend you find a different restaurant.
I ate here because I discovered Maggiano's in Philadelphia. I was in Dallas, TX for a conference. The first thing I looked for was this restaurant. I brought a person with me who had never eaten here. We were all thrilled at the flexibility and willingness of the chef to accommodate my allergies...just like at the Philadelphia location. He came to our table to discuss everything with me to make sure I would be okay. I had the chicken piccata, which was absolutely scrumptious. I highly recommend it. One of my friends had a delicious salad, and my other friend had the chicken and spinach manicotti, which she devoured! I wish you could open one of your restaurants in Fairhope or Mobile, AL!!
Everything was great and for the birthday girl she loved that she was song happy birthday in Italian. Great service and amazing food. My only negative is that when we got home we noticed that our take home pastas were all wrong just make sure to check you take home before you leave.
I am generally not a fan of chain store Italian restaurants, Maggiano’s is the exception. The cuisine is authentic and well prepared. The pricing is very reasonable. I often choose Maggiano’s when I am near one over local establishments. I have never been disappointed at a Maggiano’s.
We had a reservation, so we did not have to wait in line and were promptly seated. The ambiance is nice and makes you feel like youre treating yourself to an "experience." Unfortunately the waiter(s) messed up our order, so my meal arrived before my husband's. I am polite and didn't start eating so my meal started to get cool while waiting for his to arrive. They did bring his meal out as fast as they could, though. I felt my lasagna was overcooked because it was not at all creamy inside and the cheese on top was hard, not melted. Finally at dessert, we ordered a cheesecake and they brought us giant serving spoons to eat it with instead of a dessert fork or spoon. They didn't say anything about it until i brought it up- I guess they hoped we wouldnt notice. Apparently they had run out of clean utensils. All in all I think it is probably a nice place but so many mistakes happened that soured our experience. I dont think I will go back for awhile for that reason.
Had dinner here for a Business/Social meeting. Food was fantastic, service was attentive (though they were slow I suspect they were having issues that they kept well hidden from the dining hall, something to be appreciated). I do hope to return sometime in the near future.
