Maggiano's - Houston Ratings and Reviews
We always enjoy eating here, especially when we can partake of the Family Style dinner. We took advantage of the December Holiday lunch special and had a phenomenal pre-holiday meal with family, The food was excellent (except for the eggplant parm which was a bit disappointing). Great value, great meal.
Have enjoyed this restaurant on several occasions but this time was a bust. While the food was very good, the service was the worst one could imagine. When we were seated it was ten minutes before the smiling waiter appeared. We ordered wine and it was another ten minutes before he returned with the wine. We ordered and the food arrived in a timely fashion, however the waiter was not available to check until we sat for a lengthy time when finished before the table was cleared and he inquired about desserts. We ordered coffee and desserts and again waited. One ordered decaf arrived and we were told the regulkar coffees would be along soon because fresh coffee was being brewed. The one decaf arrived luke warm! Deserts arrived and then later , the coffees finally arrived. One dessert was incorrect so it created further delay. When the waiter appeared with the check and asked "how was everything, he was told of the disappinting service and he replied that a manager would be by to see us, and he scurried off. No manager came while we waited for several more minutes, and then left with having no further contact. Since the restaurant was very busy, we feel that is the cause of the very poor service. Management is likely the problem, ???
The food was great and the restaurant was decorated nicely, however our server was not so nice. Her attitude was terrible, she didn't look us in the eye, she was talking super low and didn't bother to speak up, she got all of our take home orders wrong, and we seen her arguing with management. I was really upset that I didn't get what I asked for in my take home dish. Nice establishment but make sure you have great staff.
we were there for the Thanksgiving meal and were really disappointed for various reasons - we had maybe misunderstood the ad and thought we could order other than a turkey/ham dinner and fixings. We would have done our normal ordering as most of the family is not crazy about turkey anyway. Having said that both the ham and the turkey were disappointing -dry, seemed like it had been sitting out for a while -- however the Rigatoni D was very good as was the creamed corn. Can't say too much positively about the rest of what we had other than the very good chopped salad. Lesson learned - don't go there for Thanksgiving especially when for 4 of us it was over $200 for a meal we really didn't enjoy. Sorry to be so honest!
We’ve been for thanksgiving dinner in previous years. This year was not the best. Not enough staff. Slow service. Food was not as good as previous years. Took too long to get drinks, too long to get extra gravy as turkey was dry, and food server just dumped food on the table and ran off in a hurry. We know Maggianos to provide better food and service. Will continue to give them my business, but, expected a little better this time.
We went for the thanksgiving feast which is great because it is not a buffet, instead it is served family style. It is a great deal of food and I love the fact you can bring your leftovers home and they will pack it for you. I wish the food was hotter, I had to send the pasta back because it was cold. This was the 2nd time we have been there for thanksgiving and we will be there next year too!
I made a reservation ahead of time for my girlfriend and I for our anniversary. I asked them to write happy anniversary somewhere in the table for her under "special instructions" and they did not accommodate. We showed up on a Sunday and it was pretty dead inside. They did not have our table ready and once we finally got seated, no one showed up to address us to see if we even wanted to order a glass of water. We sat there for almost 10 mins when a passing waiter noticed us looking around as asked us if we had received service. There was a young lady with a mic that noticed as had not been serviced and she walked on by as well and went off to talk and laugh with other waiters. Once our waiter showed up, he was a little u professional at times. Overall, it was a bad experience mainly because of the lack of service. I expected better out of a place like this and it was our first time so we were very disappointed that we wasted our anniversary dinner there. The food was not bad, but the terrible service was enough to make sure we never return.
This was our first time at this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. We had a reservation and we were seated several minutes before our time. The service was top notch and the food was amazing. Even the desert went above and beyond our expectations. I will definitely be dining at Maggiano’s again!
