My wife & I dined at Maggiano’s for Valentine’s Day and had a great experience. Our meals were well prepared and came out pretty quick considering the holiday crowd. Our server was awesome in every way possible and the restaurants ambience was very pleasant.
I’ve been to many Maggiano’s restaurants since I lived in Chicago in the early 1990s. This latest experience confirms that the restaurants are declining significantly. Service was prompt and courteous - virtually the only positive of the experience from my latest visit. The floors in the restaurant were greasy and slippery. The ceiling tiles were dirty and nearly falling out in many places in the dining room. Some of the lighting fixtures in the dining room were broken and had not been repaired or replaced. The air vents had not been cleaned in some time. The menus were sticky, worn and dirty. Lastly, the food prep was not what I used to see from Maggiano’s. The prosciutto on the salad was tough, not crunchy. The calamari was cooked in old oil and was cooked a too low a temperature, making it oily and heavy. The Parmesan crust on my chicken was oily and heavy as well. Lastly, while service was courteous and prompt, the waiter did not know anything about the wines on the wine list.
I’m afraid that management has moved too far toward trying to extract value from this location and has forgotten the uniqueness of the original Maggiano’s formula for success. I don’t plan to return unless the restaurant management decides to do something about the conditions.
It is one of my "go to" places for good Italian food. The service is always excellent and price wise it has a bit of everything. We had the flat bread pizza as appetizers for the 1st time and it was really good. I've always try to get different food, but from time to time I go to the always delicious shrimp scampi. Boyfriend had one of the steak & ravioli specials and it was delicious. We had dessert, a chocolate cheesecake and OMG!!!! Maggiano's always have a decent and variable wine list. if going on Friday or Saturday night I always recommend to make reservations.
Best Italian restaurant ever! The service and good here is phenomenal..
Great food, great service it was perfect for our daughters 14th birthday!
Absolutely wonderful Italian restaurant. The best thing about Maggiano's is that it can be a fantastic date night for any occasion - casual or special. It has a wonderful ambiance, great food, and excellent service.
Great waitress and amazing food. The place was pretty much empty so it was quiet
We had a great time and really enjoyed the food at Maggiano's. Our wait staff was wonderful! They took care of everything. The choices available from the menu were excellent. Everyone was able to find something that worked for them no matter what their diet or concerns were. Thank you so much.
I've always liked Maggiano's, but the location at Houston (near the Galleria) did not meet my expectations. The server was slow and annoying. The food was very boring and too expensive for what it was. They started charging for hot water (or maybe the server just decided to do that) because I was never charged for that before (even at Maggiano's).
Let's hope not all Maggiano's in Houston are bad, because I truly do like this place. (Or rather, I've had many good experiences at Maggiano's in North Carolina).
The service and food here are always the best in town. I have many business lunches here and everyone is always impressed. The servers give us just enough attention so not to disrupt our business discussions. My clients especially like the buy one take one as many are working wives and mothers so this is like an extra bonus and takes a load off for the evening meals. Another awesome experience! Thanks.
Great food and service reasonably priced.
Great value, yummy food, great service and ambience!
It was great overall. Our waitress Blanca did a good job.
Excellent food, service was great and the prices were reasonable
Maggiano's is really good Italian food. The staff are outstanding. Very helpful and friendly.
A comfortable and friendly Italian restaurant with a very good menu. We thought the selections were great and the food was prepared with car and cooked as requested. Salmon is often overcooked, but not here - it was perfect and delicious. Same goes for the beef. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the overall experience. Hard to believe that this is a chain.
Food was delicious! Service was ok. They’re very busy on a Saturday evening (6pm) . Food and value of the food is great. Large potions, It’s a family oriented restaurant . Will be back with the kids next time we go.
The food was wonderful, very clean and professional environment!
The server was so rude. Didn't like the tip I had given her almost yelled in front of my guests which was really embarrassing.
Everything was excellent from the food to the service
I went to Maggiano's for a business lunch with some of my companies partners. It was a great meeting which included great food. I ordered the Spaghetti dish, 2 for 1, and the evening dish was as good as when I ate at the restaurant. Great place.
Love the food at Maggiano's and we often get a pasta that qualifies for the buy one / get one free offer. And since we never finish the portion at the restaurant....one dining experience at Maggiano's results in 3 - 4 meals. Can't beat that!
The restaurant was very busy and the service was a little slow....
Service was very very slow and with out any explanation. Although we had three wait staff that were very friendly, it was disappointment to have such a long delay in service. Half of the individuals left with their meals packed to go. Those who were eating enjoyed their food. We were a party of 16, so we we expected some delays but 3 hours with out salads or entrees was over the top. The manager did comp the meals of the individuals who received no food.
Celebrating my sister in a race
We like to come to this location before heading downtown to see the Rockets play. We always make an early reservation before the place gets too busy, and we arrive on time. The week of Christmas we had the best server! She was fun, acted like she truly loved her job, and went the extra mile to make sure she provided excellent service. Yesterday we had a server who acted less than thrilled to be there, took way too long to get to our table through the entire meal (we frequently had to track him down!), did not interact with us except the bare minimum, yet we still gave him an excellent tip. When we opened our “take home” classics this evening for dinner at home, we discovered all four of them were the same (spaghetti) which was not what we ordered at all! Oh well. Just hit or miss I guess depending on the staff, but we will be back because the food is always good and we enjoy the ambience.
Service and food was excellent
Manager went extra length to accommodate special needs
Manager gave us credit for coupon that we forgot to give when we apid the bill.
Have been to mag giants in Colorado and food was much better. This place was like eating canned pasta
Great waiter! Made evening special! Yummy food!
I have never been when waiter got order correct. Never
Solid lunch choices with conscientious service. Would prefer a shorter lunch menu- there are so many choices.
Maggianos has an excellent lunch special for $9.95. Choose two: Soup, Salad or Sandwich. Perfect for ladies who lunch lightly! Our server Bren was very patient and courteous as my dining partner asked to swap her soup for a salad. Thanks for nice service!
Friendly restaurant! We came with our little one and it was incredible!
They made us wait almost 20 minutes even with our reservation
It was our 6th year to celebrate our anniversary there which was our 34th! It will be the last time we darken their door! Made the reservation 1 month early.. got there 5 minutes late due to traffic but called and let them know we were going to be 5 minutes late. We drove for 1-1/2 hours to get there. Still had to wait 30 minutes with a pager to get a table. In the past years we walked in and were seated if not instantly within 10 minutes. The restaurant was not even close to as crowded as past years. Many empty tables and lots of waiting room in the bar area. 15 minutes after we were seated the waitress finally stopped at our table to see if we would like something to drink. The rest of the night was the same 25 minutes to get the appetizer, 15 minutes to get drinks refilled. Ordered a nine ounce pour of wine got a six ounce. The waitress said she would take care of it and got the extra pour in the glass but also brought back a hair in it.. we stopped her and showed her the issue and she said she was so sorry! She was going to take care of it right away.... 15 minutes later she brought my wife back a glass of wine. We we’re handed the check and told to have a good night. I confronted a manager on the way out about the service and he said so sorry! We used to have our Christmas parties there for our company but no longer will that happen! Very disappointed in the way the management and quality of servers have gone down. Sad to see.
It was me and my wife's first time to Little Maggiano's in the Galleria area location. We were out on a date night with friends. The food, service and atmosphere were amazing. We had a great time for sure. Our server Rudy was awesome. He knew the menu well and was very personable. We will be back for sure.
I brought my bridal party there after shopping for wedding and bridesmaid dresses. At first the waiter was a disorganized but he turned it around.
Good was fantastic! Service superb
Best value in town, especially the "eat one today and eat tomorrow deal"where you can take a second entree home.
The quantities are very large and the bread is great.
The manicotti was terrible the pasta was way over cooked , but the chicken was as tough as shoe leather and there was hardly any spinach in them. The waiter gave us the next tables’ check. I had to track him down to correct it. Then he followed up with the wrong take home pasta dish which we didn’t discover until we got home. Bad experience.
Maggianos is one of our favorites. The food is great, and it’s priced reasonably.
