This was a disappointing visit to Maggianos - Durham. We enjoy coming here for our workplace celebrations. However, the kitchen was very backed up and it took nearly an hour to get our food. Even then, not everyone's food came out at the same time. Additionally, the salad we ordered had very little toppings and dressing, way less than every other time we ordered. I realize it's a busy time, but even the quality of food received was low. I'm hopeful the next visit will be a better experience.

We were there for a holiday lunch with a group from work. The food was not great, certainly not what it is priced for. The chicken/spinach/pasta/cheese dish was almost all pasta and cheese. a few scraps of chicken, and maybe a tablespoon of spinach. I'm not kidding. The best nutritional value was the grilled salman salad, or the grilled chicken salad, both of which were good but neither was over the top. The noise level was so high I couldn't hear the person right next to me unless she raised her voice in conversation. We had a reservation through Open Table, and the 'family style' menu was pushed pretty hard by the restaurant when they called to re-re-confirm my reservation. This didn't really work for the diverse dietary restrictions in our group. I don't know what it was, but it seemed to be heavy on the pasta and creamed sauces. The service was S-L-O-W in spite of having 2 waitresses. I asked for a to-go box with my dinner (I can't eat a lot), and the waitress repeated my request, so I know that she heard me. However, I didn't get it until I got my check finally over an hour and a half after I'd ordered. We will probably go somewhere else next time.

There was a lot of activity due to the holidays. The table was a bit tight for 11 people when ordering the family style menu. Felt like food was on top of us.

The occasion was for a holiday business lunch. The restaurant was festively decorated. The wait staff were amazing. They were able to accommodate our request for a small table to place gifts. Not only did they bring a small table, but they also placed a table cloth on it. We never had to ask for plates to be removed or refills on drinks. The wait staff was very attentive, especially during a busy lunch hour. There were 8 of us. The reservation staff recommended Family Style dining for our large group. I was leery at first, but I agreed to it. There was a large selection of different foods. The food was delicious and plentiful! No one had to wait on their food. They were even able to accommodate food allergies. We have enough left overs that we all can have one or two more lunches this week, except for desserts. :) The value per person was very reasonable, but it would have been nice if coffee, soft drinks and teas would have been part of the price. I will definitely go back to Maggiano's in Durham.

I had chicken parmigiana and it was very good, although my three kids ordered fettuccine Alfredo and it was uncooked. We told the manager and they offered free dessert and they didn’t charge us for those dishes which I think is fair. I wish they would have been more careful before bringing our food to the table.

Waitress was less than friendly or attentive. Food was outstanding. We’re dined there at 8:30 on a Friday and we were basically not offered dessert (perhaps people wanted to go home?).

It was my daughters 15th birthday and we came here per her request. We have been here often but it was a lot more packed than usual I lot of birthdays. They led us to our table and all the glasses on the table were dirty; the waiter apologized and removed the glasses. Everything else went well except for the fact that they were out of calamari (my daughters favorite and reason for us coming). The food was good and we left full.

Our server was a little abrasive… But I think that is just her natural personality. I would’ve preferred her be a little more warm, but the food was great! I had the cheese ravioli, and it was delicious.

I ordered and appetizer that the server said that she made more of, I watched as several people who were sat after myself and my guest get their food before we did, when our food finally came I asked the server about the appetizer that I ordered and she says she forgot to put it in. Although she was apologetic the fact still remains that she forgot to put the appetizer order in, I’ve been to Maggiano’s in Durham before but this is the worst service I’ve ever received from there.

Our initial arrival was not well received. I called ahead to let them know our arrival would be later than anticipated due to the first portion of our evening running over the original time which was no fault of our own. Upon our arrival we were told that because we missed the reservation we would have to be worked back in. That is understandable, but the attitude of the hostess and I guess the manager on duty was just so negative and unnecessary. There was a large party who entered just before us, who was still waiting to be seating for about 10 minutes while we waited, that I’m positive was given our table because they clearly wanted to make us wait.
Because we were celebrating our friend who suffers from sickle cell anemia finally getting a donor for her bone marrow transplant, I decided not to take our party of 12 elsewhere. In any other situation I would have simply because I didn’t appreciate the attitude especially when I called to inform them of the delay. The server made our experience very enjoyable and ultimately saved our special night.
I am a regular patron of Maggianos SouthPoint, so to say I was disappointed upon my arrival is an understatement.

The table were too close together. My grandsons chair was up against a post and we had a person at the next table chair touching a corner of our table. I realize it is a busy time, with many customers wanted to dine with you, but the uncomfortable arrangement of the tables which hindered our waitress and took away from our celebration. I have dined at Maggiano's many time, and the seating was NEVER this bad.

Outstanding Italian Food. Great value option where you can take a second portion of your meal home with you. Good service and ambiance. My only complaint was there was mushrooms in my entree, and no where in the description did it say mushrooms. Somewhat ruined for me because of my strong aversion to mushrooms what was a very tasty entree.

The service was above and beyond. The food was good, although not extraordinary in any way. Definitely something I could make at home even better. It's not bad at all- just not anything to distinguish it from the hundreds of other middle of the road Italian places I've been to. Excellent portion sizes so it's nice to get a few meals out of one visit. The brunch menu looked really interesting, I may try it one day but I doubt I'll go back for the every day entrees. Bonus- they do have dessert bites if you only want something small. I really like having this option.

This was our first time dining at Maggianos. I was disappointed in the food. The pasta was served cold and tasted as if it was heated from a can rather than prepared by a chef. I felt the prices were expensive for the quality of food we were served. Our server kept forgetting to refill our tea and water glasses and took awhile to bring us bread and did not bring us bread plates until we asked. We had never been there before and we observed other waiters serving the bread and oil, needless to say we watched others and made our own.

Every week my family and I have "Family Dinner". This is very important to us, especially my daughter. We ate at Maggiano's for this week's dinner. IT was great. We love coming to the restaurant, it is well worth the drive from Wake Forest.

We were very happy with Thanksgiving at Maggianos. The staff was phenomenal when one member of our group accidentally spilled beer all over the table. The staff quickly changed out our linens and dinner was served shortly after. Great time, great food!

This was our second time at Maggiano's for Thanksgiving, and this second time will be our last (for Thanksgiving). It's a priced fixed meal, and you order two of everything (salad, entree, vegetable, pasta, and dessert). We wanted two of the same items for some of the selections, but our server insisted that we get two different items. In the end, this was what annoyed us most - we should not have had to convince the server that we knew what we wanted to order - he should have just given us what we wanted, because the other choices were not as appealing to us. For example, we both wanted pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. Instead of letting us get 2 of those and take the leftover home, he pretty much made us get one cheesecake and one (chocolate cake) that we did not like as much.

As for the rest - my cocktail was delivered after the appetizer course was served and eaten. Our main entrees came out just as we were dishing up our salad course, so as you can imagine, when we got to eating the entrees, they were not as hot as they should have been. The server did nothing to resolve this, but did comment to us that "he did not expect the food to come out so fast." REALLY?! And one of the items - the pasta of the day, which was butternut squash ravioli was a total miss. There was absolutely no hint of butternut squash flavor in this dish. It was served with juilianned sun-dried tomatoes over the top, which took over the dish, and there was a cloyingly sweet sauce. Just not good.

In all, left the Thanksgiving meal at Maggiano's disappointed.

Thanksgiving "dinner" was served at 2:30 and was a very pleasant surprise. Expecting to see only pasta on the menu we were greeted with a "farm style" dinner menu where we each made selections for salad, main dish (including traditional roast turkey and dressing!), sides, pasta and dessert. It was served "family style" in bowls and we served ourselves, tasting each others choices. The selections were excellent and food was voluminous and very good. We brought home enough food for two more dinners. I would surely do it again . . .

The waitress was very rude. She rushed us along as we made our selections. She was agitated whenever we asked questions. She forgot to refill our drinks and only brought the drinks to the table after she overheard my wife saying, "I don't know where our drinks are." This was our Thanksgiving meal and we had to ignore her behavior in order not to ruin the occasion. We also overheard staff next to the kitchen complaining throughout our meal about having to work on Thanksgiving as well as gossiping about customers and their coworkers.
