Maggiano's - Denver Pavilions Ratings and Reviews
We dined at this location for a 40th birthday celebration. We were told that they would have some sort of birthday decorations and that they would provide free lemon cookies, neither were provided. I understand that restaurants see a lot of birthdays but this was a very special occasion and the staff made it seem not so special.
When we asked for garlic bread the waiter sent the manager and couldn't tell us himself that they did not serve garlic bread. The when we asked for wine the waiter insinuated that we needed a cheap bottle of wine as if we had no money, then when we got the bill he highlighted the gratuity as if we didn't have enough money and highlighted the top amount. As if we weren't going to pay the tip. After all that I did not pay the tip at all. I will never go back to your restaurant.
Took wife out for Valentines Day. Ordered the fettuccine Alfredo on both orders. On mine the sauce was like soup consistency not sauce consistency. Brought it to the attention of server who notified manager, but manager appeared that he didn’t want to be bothered or make it right. The cook came out and gave me a lame excuse as to why my order was the way it was and brought us some lemon cookies. I was raised in a restaurant family and as a teen I cooked under my father who was an executive chef. I was taught how to properly prepare Alfredo sauce and the proper consistency of the sauce so that it adheres to all the noodles. What I received was Alfredo soup. Because I was on a date with my wife I didn’t make a scene, but I will not go back to a Maggiano’s or spend my money at any other Maggiano’s and I will tell others not to spend their money there. I am very disappointed that there is no such thing as quality Italian food . My wife commented that it was like fast food served in a restaurant atmosphere. #nomoremaggianos
I have uploaded a photo of the left over soup after I ate the noodles.
Very nice Italian restaurant! Excellent food! The Mozzarella Marinara was memorable: crispy on the outside, perfect on the inside. Maggiano's has an extensive menu of authentic Italian dishes.
It gets crowded and a little noisy. We sat at a booth and it seemed a little small for four of us.
Will go back again.
My wife and I arrived early for our reservation. We were told that our table would be ready by 8pm, the time of the reservation. So we went and walked the mall for a bit and returned about 35 minutes later. 8pm arrived and nothing. I went and spoke to the host and she said that they were still sitting the 745pm reservations. At 815pm a party of 9 walked in without a reservation and was sat within 2 minutes while we were still waiting. At this point my wife and I left and we have no intention of ever returning to this restaurant.
We had made the reservation for the evening several weeks in advance to celebrate Valentines Day. We both work downtown, and it had been years since we ate at a Maggiano's. As it was a rare evening out without our child, and we were looking forward to a romantic, special evening. Unfortunately, there was nothing special about the environment at this Maggiano's. After checking in on time, the woman at the hostess stand was rude. When I inquired at 6:25 whether our table would be ready soon, she brusquely replied "we're now starting to seat all 6:15s". No acknowledgement that it was 10 minutes after reservation time, nor that we were paying customers and not just a number in a cattle call. We were seated at a cramped little two-top, about 7 inches from tables on either side of us. The waitress was fine, and the food was delicious. But the attitude of us being a number in what appears to be a high-volume operation - rather than it being an opportunity to make a special evening for new customers - was disappointing. We will not be returning.
We absolutely love this restaurant! We have a 4 & 5 year old and they actually eat when we go there! We spent a wonderful two hours dining and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Awesome wait staff took very good care of us. The restaurant is always busy so make sure you make a reservation. Overall a great place to dine with your kids or for anytime. Never have a bad meal here.
A Valentine's evening was delivered by DENISE! She was the best female server we've ever had at Maggiano's - she was a delight, informative and helpful. We keep coming back because of the food but Denise but it an enjoyable experience - we hope to get her again :) Thanks!
We had Valentines dinner here, and I must say it was very disappointing! I’ve been coming here for awhile now and I have to say this was my first bad experience dining at this location. The host was allowing other people with out reservations to seat before us, then we had to sit in some far off corner where the staff forgot about us! My food came out cold and just bland, like it’s been sitting there for some time. We asked the waitress for parmesan cheese and had to wait about 15 minuets to receive any. Then we felt rushed because the waitress didn’t even take our desert order before she brought us our check! Like really, who dose that? Never treat a paying customer like there wasting your time.
What a restaurant! My family and I went on Fat Tuesday so naturally it was busy. But despite the dining room being full it didn't feel overwhelming. And we didn't need to yell just to hear each other. It's no small feat for a restaurant to really make you feel at home and Maggiano's in the Denver Pavalions pulls it off.
The dining area is warm and honest enough to be classy without being opulent and pretentious. It is a perfect scene for a family get together, a gathering of friends, birthdays, graduation dinners, an anniversary, or that all important first date. At our table and all around there were smiles and laughter.
But of course it's all about the food. Maggiano's does not disappoint.
My wife started with a Caesar salad and I had the minestrone soup. Both were perfect. My soup was hot and flavorful and it made me wonder how good was my entree going to be. My daughter worked on the dinner bread, which she couldn't get enough of. That is quite an accomplishment because she is a very picky toddler!
My wife's entree was the Braised Beef Pappardelle. I had Mom's Lasagna. The combination of the warm pasta, meat filling that I think is beef and Italian sausage, the cheeses, and steaming marinara made every bite start with a pause and closed eyes. As with any rich Italian dish the best part is mopping the excess sauce with bread. And my picky eater loved her pizza.
For dessert the three of us shared a Chocolate Zuccotto Cake. If you ever visit this restaurant that is the dessert you must get!
A meal should be as warm as the occassion it was prepared for. Maggiano's undoubtedly knows this and delivers in kind!
Always a great experience and awesome wait staff. This is the first time I can remember in over 20 years at Maggianos that the service was very deficient and the restaurant wasn’t even busy. But people have bad days and this may have been hers. No personality, didn’t take everyone’s order before leaving the table and completely forgot about us—inattentive so had to find her and flag her down for service. Food made up for the lack of service!!
Food was excellent! I like that you can buy one/take one, to have for lunch the next day. Between the appetizer and the bread before dinner, its almost hard to finish dinner, so there's even more leftovers! I would definitely give it a thumbs up and recommend to anyone who enjoys Italian food and a great atmosphere.
My daughter has a food allergy so we requested to talk to the Chef when I made reservation. I thought our waitress wasn't friendly at all actually, and brought bread, and I asked if it was "nut free" and she responds "No idea, that's why the chef is coming out" thanks? ??Anyways, chef was super great and helpful, waitress was subpar.
I have very fond memories of this Maggiano's but haven't been to this location in many years and although the ambiance is fun the restaurant was very noisy and super crowded, as we expected. The reservation was not available at the time promised, there process to seat you is chaotic and the bar was so congested that it was difficult to move or order a cocktail. I remember the food being much better years ago, but perhaps I was younger and less seasoned with excellent Italian restaurants. It was good but definitely not worth the hassle not did it resemble other more authentic Italian restaurants so in the future I will seek an alternative.
Really good food and very fast service despite the fact that the restaurant was packed. The one downside is that the restaurant is LOUD because it's so packed on the weekend evenings, so I don't think I'd go on a romantic date. Also, don't even think about going without a reservation - otherwise you'll be waiting a while. Despite all this, I'd definitely recommend the restaurant and will go again.
