Maggiano's - Cumberland Ratings and Reviews
Opening cocktails came to table approximately 20-25 minutes after placing order. Manhattans came served up when requested “on the rocks”. 3rd drink was mixed incorrectly. Replacements and reorders came much quicker with apologies. Waiter was friendly and then helpful. Food was good with generous portions. No bread refills were offered and the small amount ran out before drinks were served. There was no bread to have with the meal. All in all, we enjoyed our special occasion.
Waiter made it difficult to enjoy our experience as his attitude was poor and poor timing all around from the moment he started providing service. Apps, starters arrived less than 4 min before meals were served and when finally making it back to check on us, he seemed to be frustrated with us when we asked to return 1 out of 2 soups which was not going to be consumed since the meal was already on the table and one meal was asked to be heated up so a member of our party could enjoy her soup and that seemed to be an ordeal. Mid meal, take home bags with take home meals were already being brought out...
We have been to Maggianos - both Cumberland and Perimeter Mall - many times with friends and family. We have even had 2 "special birthdays" in your private rooms. We have always enjoyed dining there and service and food have always been excellent. We will be back again.
Our waiter was absolutely amazing! He was attentive and knowledgeable. He WILL be requested for out next family dinner! The food was amazing and when they were informed of my food allergies, the Head Chef came to speak with me personally and told me what I would be safe to eat and what i would probably want to stay away from!
Dining room felt very crammed, too many tables on the floor. Long delay from getting seated to being waited on however waiter was very good.
Food was so-so, providing plain boiled noodles as part of a meal seems very lazy and uninspired. They seemed stuck together and not even butttered or oiled. Piccata was very short on sauce though we did not order the light version.
My husband and I and our granddaughter age 5 had a wonderful New Years Eve dinner at Maggiano's at Cummberland. We had such a delicious dinner and our granddaughter enjoyed her meat ball and spaghetti. Left with plenty of food for the next 2 days. Will be back again soon.
3 of the 4 ordered the Classic Pastas where you take one home for free. I was in the mood for steak and the server recommended the steak and mushroom medallions. I ordered them medium. I don’t care for garlic in my potatoes so I asked to substitute the other potatoes. She said no problem. When the food came, the steak was well done and plate contained mashed potatoes. A good runner delivered it and ran off so it was 5 minutes or so before the server came by. I told her about the potatoes. She brought the replacement potatoes when they were done which was, unfortunately, after I had eaten the 3 small pieces of well done meat. Very disappointing. A $30 entree should be presented better. You get a better presentation with the $15 2 for 1 deal.
We decided to Italian for our New Years meal after church as a family and we made a reservation for 10 including a wheel chair. We were maybe 6 min late and waited 15 min to be seated. Then we were seated in the middle of a crowded dining area at a round table (already mentioned we had a wheel chair). EVERYTIME he had to leave the table it was a hassle because there was no space.
Let’s not get me started on the waiter! He was good until after the appetizers he would disappear for 10/15 min at a time and come back smelling like cigarette smoke. So basically he was taking smoke breaks in between bringing our food which more than likely means he wasn’t washing his hands. We were there almost 3 hours and I only got one refill. For some odd reason they have a lot of NY guys staffed and they weren’t the warmest servers.
Overall on a scale of 1-10 I’ll give this experience a 5 just because my stuffed mushrooms were amazing. And don’t break your neck trying to get here for brunch I ended up ordering regular food.
Glad we made reservations. While we were waiting for our table, walk-ins were told 2 hours and we were seated within 10-15 minutes. The night we went was during the holiday season (12/29) and was very busy. We didn't see our server for long periods of time, including for the initial greeting. Food came out quickly and was pretty good. It was a little pricey and not very memorable except for the hot fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream.
We had a great time at Maggiano's. The food is so yummy and the service is A+. The only issue is it can get a bit loud on a busy night which makes it tough to have a good conversation with a group. Family style meal is best for a group of 4 or more. Well worth it. Overall, one of our favorite restaurants.
We had the best server! Chauncey (I think) took great care of us. We love Maggiano's. Our only complaint was that one of the pastas was the exact same size as the kids size pastas. That hardly seemed worth it. The bar was a little backed up so waiting for drinks took a bit but we weren't rushed and food was tasty. We always have a great meal worth every penny.
Would have been 5 stars but went to the bar first thing and was not waited on immediately... barlady was dressing tables and said she would be there shortly... she took her time. My own personal opinion is that customers come first. We had a small window before our family arrived and wanted to enjoy a drink together but as it was, ended up waiting too long for service on a glass of wine. Peter, assistant manager was great. Edgar, waiter, was great.Everything else was a great experience!
We’ve been to this location several times and have not been disappointed. The food is consistently good, and the atmosphere is acceptable for special occasions. It’s on the higher end of pricing for a “chain” but sufficiently differentiated in food quality and value to justify. The live music on weekends is also a nice touch if you happen to catch it.
Everyone should treat themselves to BRUNCH at Maggiano's. Our meals were artfully presented and delicious! Chef Luca Bettini made sure everything was perfect. We had the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes topped with blueberries and whipped cream; the Crème Brulee French Toast with strawberries; and sausage and bacon for our sides (sides were included in the price). The meals were served with maple syrup and fresh fruit, not frozen. It was our first brunch but definitely not our last.
We have always loved this place! FOOD NEVER disappoints! Everything is fabulous. Highly recommend family style for small or large groups over 6. Lots of food and great time . We looked at menu beforehand and were ready when we got there to order. speeds up ordering and avoids arguments at the table! :) Mom's Lasagna is a must!
Me and all my adult children make the drive from Chattanooga every year for our Christmas dinner.we have done this for the last 12 years. We always do the Family style, the cheese cake and ice cream are the main reason we always do this place. This year, when we got to the desert, the manager came over and told us they were out of the cheese cake. He saw that most of the party was upset and we thought he was kidding. I was only 6:30 and they were out of the cheese cake? Then some how 2 small slices show up. They were able to find 2. We were never given a desert menu to make a second choose. Even after we asked for one. The ice cream was brought out 1 bowl at a time. As though they were running low on it as well. After spending over 300.00 to feed 7 people, you would think they would have been a little more attentive. The manager offered to pay for our desert. The desert is included in the family style 34.00 per person.
I never saw the manager again and nothing was taken off the bill.
I would suggest driving a little further and going to the other Maggiano’s in Buckhead.
