Maggiano's - Cincinnati Ratings and Reviews
The food, as always, was wonderful, and we had a fantastic server! I wish I could remember her name!!! She needs to be commended for really excellent service. She was a black woman, on the short side, and she was the sweetest, friendliest, funniest, most down-to-earth lady! If this description rings a bell at the Kenwood location, give this lady some props!!
We arrived earlier than the booked time, but were told it was no problem and We were seated immediately.
Our waiter was outstanding, attentive, and generous.
The manager provided Us with a Happy Anniversary card, complete with a gift card usable for that dinner.
The food was outstanding, as always. We got the mozzarella marinara, eggplant parmesan, and the grilled salmon; along with tiramisu to go (we were full).
The thing is, the waiter said he couldn't stand to see Us on Our Anniversary and not have a desert, so he brought out their lemon cookie plate with a lit heart-shaped candle.
Maggianos went above and beyond for Us, and I couldn't thank them enough.
We went into restaurant and wait was over an hour, and we didn't have time to stay. It smelled so good we knew that it would be worth it to come back the next day. We did return and was so good it could be the best restaurant we have ever been to. Thank you.
Usually I love Maggiano's. However, we went Saturday afternoon and apparently it was $2 Bellini day, $5 Mimosas, etc. So, our service was pretty slow. I think the server was just overwhelmed. Don't know if it was him or if management understaffed for a busy crowd.
I recently had dinner here with my mother before some shopping we needed to do. I had never eaten there before, and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, the two dinner/take home pasta was very nice, and I had the best (extremely generous) peach Bellini I've had in some time. I did find the prices a bit high, but otherwise enjoyed the experience.
Love the ambiance here. Music is quiet, staff is friendly. Last time we were seated upstairs, which is not my preference, since we were in front of a pillar with no view to the level below. But because it was frigid outside, it was fine to be where it was warmer. When I order pasta, I usually prefer more veggies and less pasta, but their pasta dishes are heavier on the pasta. My husband and I like to eat healthy, and there are plenty of options: salmon, Amalfi coast lemon chicken, spinach salad, tilapia, and many others. A fun, warm, and friendly place to eat.
The food is always good. The service was ok. We were a party of 7, sat upstairs with the large parties. The server was "awkward". He announced that we had 5 servers for our table, but he was the only person we saw, and he was sporadic at best. When we first got there we were the only large party, by the time we left there were several. Drinks were slow getting to us, we had to ask for bread (remember when they used to put the olive oil on the plate then ask if you wanted cracked pepper in it too?--ok, yes I can do that myself, but if you set the expectation you have to follow thru every time). The first batch of bread came in two baskets, and the pieces were pre-separated. The second batch of bread was a lump of a loaf, hand delivered by the server... meaning, he used his bare hand, took it out of a box and unceremoniously dumped it into the bread basket. We had just witnessed him coming out of the bathroom, needless to say, NO ONE touched that loaf of bread, even though we all wanted some. :( I would go back again, love their food, but I don't know if the upstairs is the land of forgotten diners, or what. It just wasn't up to their usual level of service.
