Maggiano's - Chicago Ratings and Reviews
Food was outstanding, service was fair. Aa a party of (5) men, we were placed in a booth when there were several tables available. Glassware and flatware were not clean, matter of fact we requested them to change out all the glasses on the table. The dishwasher may have not been working however individual setting the table should have noticed. Again, food was great.
Can't say I would recommend this restaurant. Had a reservation and still had to wait 20 minutes for a table. Once we sat, it was three hours later when we left. Spent time waiting for drinks, appetizers and food. Servers first day and she should never had been on her own!
Wife and I take annual trip to Chicago and Maggiano’s is alsways on the list. As usual, food was great, but the service this trip left a lot to be desired. I asked for my glass of water to be refilled three times and it was never refilled at all. Also asked for some vinaigrette to go with our bread and oil, and was told by our waiter (like the water), that it would be right out and again, never received it. We both selected an entree to eat and also an entree to go and after we finished and walked back to our hotel, found that we only received one of our two “to go” entree’s. Our fault for not looking before we left, but we have never once had an issue with this restaurant before, so hoping that when we return our service is much better.
The place was great and they had valet parking which is always a plus, although the attendant was not very attentive and was on his phone for 5 minutes before noticing us on the way in and out. Also our food came out before our salad, but in all fairness the food was really quick. The server was friendly and the food was delicious.
We very much enjoyed our first experience at Maggiano's. We'd heard that the food was consistently good and found that to be very true. Everything we had was delicious and the pacing of the meal felt very relaxed. We loved the cozy, romantic decor, Frank Sinatra music, and view of the city street. The staff were all very upbeat and exceptionally attentive. They brought my husband a lovely dessert of lemon cookies with candles for his birthday. Great date night experience!
The service is always great and the management really takes ownership of your experience.
The food is good however some of our favorite dishes have changed a little. For example the Chicken Saltimbocca use to have bits of sage in it and a creamer sauce. However the Bruschetta Bar Tour was delicious and the cheesecake is as good as ever. Great place for a group.
Terrible experience. I ask for a soecial table at the restaurant since I went with my daughter to celebrate her 15th birthday and made my reservation long before the day with specifications. They sat us at the bar because they said that day the restaurant was not doing so good so they decided to close it before the regular time. They never sang happy birthday to my daughter. The waiter was terrible and no patience at all. The manager was doing nothing and even though I place my desires in the reservation and repeat ir when I got there, nothing happened and it was the worst place to celebrate my daughter’s 15th birthday. So sorry we went there.
A great way to celebrate a birthday. We had one member of the group with a food allergy and the chef came out to talk with her and make suggestions. They were very accommodating. This restaurant has been around for a long time and still meets our expectations for a fun night out.
when I lived in Chicago this was my favorite restaurant this was a signature birthday I went there to reminisce and cannot believe how downhill that restaurant has gone I missed the bakery I thought that the food tastes like it came out of boxes and not from a signature Chef any longer I was extremely disappointed
My significant other and didn't we're out on the town for a beautiful night , sweetest day. He Mentioned a while back that he was we interested in dining here so we did. The host was not sure where my reservation was. The waiter was horrible he didn't give us plates to eat the pre sliced bread. Once we sat we waited on drinks those never came until 30 mins later still had not taken the food order. My boyfriend had to order a drink at the bar.
The place wasn't busy it was not a great experience. The chicken was left off of his meal. I didn't eat because my food was pork and we told the waiter our allergies. It was hard to enjoy our dinner as everything was bad. Service and all, however my boyfriend did enjoy the ravioli but he and I won't be back.
We had a delicious dinner the other night. Our waiter, Vincent, was courteous and friendly.
I had the side Caesar salad and ordered extra anchovies. Super fresh and great dressing.
My main was spaghetti and meatball. Yummy and too large for me to finish. The $14.95 price of my spaghetti included another pasta dish for me to take home. ( I chose the eggplant parm, warmed it the next day and it was fantastic.)
My husband ordered the calamari appetizer which was crispy and good. He loved the big bowl of bean , tomato and ham soup that he ordered next.
Save room for their tiramisu...it’s decadent and sooo delicious.
