Maggiano's - Chevy Chase

Food: appetizers were rawful, the lobster carbonara was delicious, the seafood pasta bowl was full of water and the clam shells were empty. Table: in an aisle with constant bumps from employees and other customers. And very loud. I would not suggest this location.

My family used to consider this a fancy place for celebrations but we've decided we're done. With 8 people you must select family style menu and frankly, we prefer to select our own meals. Everyone had to make accommodations so that everyone could eat their second choice food. Maybe other groups are more agreeable or have more aligned tastes. The food certainly was plentiful and we were all stuffed at the end (also something we're trying to avoid!)

We have some dairy free family members and there are very limited options. ALL of the salads and appetizers had cheese. The restaurant did make some accommodations for us but even so, there were errors when the food arrived, and not a lot of options to select. We wish there were more vegetables to select from (salads with actual green lettuce not just romaine, grilled veggies, etc.)

Our service was absolutely awful - slow, unknowledgeable, mistakes on every single course. I'm sure this isn't reflective of the entire restaurant, but our particular server was veryy bad.

3 of us had terrible stomach aches after eating here. Good luck!

Designed to serve larger parties, it reminds me of going to dinner at the home of the Italian grandmorher you never had. Lots of EVERYTHING in a very Little Italy setting -- family photos on the wall and a Frank Sinatra soundtrack. Food is very comfort-oriented and delicious though not awe-inspiring. Good dinner.

The location, the ambiance and the fact it can accommodate 10 persons at the same round table are great features. The service was slow, we waited 1 h for the food (granted, it was a busy evening ). The waiter was very nice and apologized several times. The food was salty and overcooked. The portions were generous.

Didn’t get the creme brûlée french toast we literally went there for but the lemon ricotta pancakes were pretty good. Nice experience. My sister said there were delightful and she was pleasantly surprised.

We made a reservations for Thanksgiving, the food was excellent and the options were enough to accommodate the fact that one of our group members does not eat pork or read meat. the food was delicious, the service was prompt and friendly. We appreciated the fact that they were opened for Thanksgiving, a holiday that most people want to spend with their families. We ordered a bottle of wine and it paired wonderfully with the food. The desserts were incredible!!

We went for Thanksgiving dinner. The food and service was amazing! The staff made sure we had everything we needed for a wonderful holiday experience. The place was packed and the chef took the time to come to our table to discuss our food allergies (we have a few tough ones) and made sure to accommodate us in every way so we could still enjoy the food. Service was top-notch. Excellent experience all the way around!

I have visited Maggiano's many times before and have always found the food to be excellent and plentiful. Tonight was no exception. The only side dish that was a little skimpy was the creamed spinach, but since we had two salads, the spinach was not really missed. The service was good and the ambiance was conducive to conversation. All in all, a great experience.

Despite a very crowded restaurant we were given the option of a nice booth in the front / bar section of the Restaurant. Our waiter, "Mo" was friendly, courteous, competent and funny.

We had a fabulous experience in 2018 - terrific service, good food - but this year the restaurant was cold so diners had to keep coats on, service was poor, turkey was too salty and the ham was dried out; it took 30 minutes to get one mixed drink, had to ask for plates (and the waiter brought only one), we never got offered extra food or received the butter and gravy we asked for so the mashed potatoes were untouched...enough said. We will NEVER go back to Maggiano's for any reason!

Maggiano's has always been one of my favorites but unfortunately it fell short for me on Thanksgiving. I get that its menu was holiday driven but it felt like a punch in the stomach when we found out the menu was limited for Thanksgiving. My fault, should have checked before the reservation. I'll unfortunately never do maggiano's again for Thanksgiving. Service was awful don't know why.

I’ve been to this Maggiano’s twice before and even came here for prom night. So I decided to have my birthday dinner here. It was quite empty for a Sunday night but that was welcome for me. I don’t remember our waiter’s name but he was very nice. The service was great at the beginning. Halfway through our meal we felt as though we were forgotten and the dessert took too long to come out. Half of my party left and we had to pack our dessert to go. Service needs to be strong throughout the entire meal. If our waiter was overwhelmed (I did see that he was seated a larger table after us) I would hope that a manager or another busser would look over to assist. The food was great, the service did put a damper on the experience though.

My wife & I arrived at 11:45. The waiter gave us drinks right away. On ordering, my wife ordered linguini alfredo, and I ordered the Filet Mignon on Rissotto. The presentation was timely. The waiter took a photo of us. The food was excellent. We split a Tiramisu for dessert.

Made reservation on open table and wasn't seated until 45 minutes after. Waiters attention was unacceptable. Was busy but no excuse for the poor service throughout the meal.

Hello as much as I would love to write a nice review I cannot. I had a reservation for me and my girlfriends 1 year anniversary on Saturday at 7pm at the Chevy Chase location. When we got there we saw a whole bunch of signs in the door about how the restaurant was closed due to water boiling issues or something. So not only did we not eat at this restaurant my girlfriend really wanted to go to for our anniversary I didn’t even get a notice telling us that the restaurant was going to be closed. So again as much as I would love for this to be a good review I cannot write anything other than we where just really disappointed.

I made a reservation the day of. I got to the restaurant and was told the entire restaurant is closed for a private event. I was told they called everyone with a reservation to tell them that they would be closed, except I didn’t get a call (I did put my phone number in the reservation and received a text confirmation).

Our reunion group was there on a quiet Wednesday night. The 12 of us were able to visit in the area around the table before siting down and could hear one another around the table. All of the guests commented that this was a great venue for the gathering. The family style food was wonderful, the service was great and everyone had a very pleasant time.

We were able to conveniently park in the garage several doors down from Magiano's who validated our parking so it only cost $4 to park.

Delicious food but service was REALLY slow.

My experience at Maggiano's on Saturday, November 2nd was so so, the food was awesome, the waitress was just ok, there could have been a lot of things she could have done better such as tell us to pull the menu out of the plastic sleeve to reveal other food selections, or she could have given the specials of the day, there are other suggestions but not enough characters, I was there to celebrate my birthday, and was having a great time, until this large bridal party came in, I felt as though the two parties should not have been placed right next to each others, because of the large group that just continued to grow, and Maggiano's accommodated them with additional seats which overshadowed my event because we were so close to each other, so we packed our food and left. So it wasn't that great of an eating experience for me, hopefully the young lady had a ball.

Sad to say but Maggiano’s Chevy Chase is not what it used to be. Midweek night and barely 1/4 full for dinner. Ordered the family feast for party of four. Portions seemed half the size of day’s gone by and no leftovers to take home. Used to be you would take half a cake home with you. Food temp was tepid..cooked so in all fairness did not request to send back. Service was excellent but we did come for the food.

Start off was excellent but when It came down to placing a dessert order it took forever and took a while to get the check as well. We also had two servers mid dinner it would have been ok but it made it seem like both were ignoring us. Other than that I would still go back because of the calamari

We have long enjoyed Maggiano’s, both in the dinning room & private events, and catering . Unfortunately our latest experience fell fall below standard , the service was inept, and while we appreciate a manager apologizing table side for all the missteps, managements’ awareness had no effect on service or food having spent too long under heat lamps. We are so sorry we no longer can count on one of our favorite restaurants

We had not been to Maggiano’s in awhile. It did not disappoint. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Waru, our server was extremely attentive, and he made the experience a true pleasure.

we come once a month and for what ever reason our waiter/waitress disappears on us. We come around 6:30 and the place is pretty empty which is fine so maybe the problem is when we leave it is full and the wait staff are busier..But this is a consistent pattern--having to look for our waiter even to the point of leaving the table and wandering around to find someone to ask...
