Maggiano's - Charlotte Ratings and Reviews
Service was great and food was average. I had the lasgna and it was good and came in a large portion, but not any better than Olive Garden. My wife had the fettucini alfredo and is also came in a large portion, but tasted very bland and just didn't have any flavor to it. The table was also dirty when we sat down and appeared as if the table cloth had not been changed in a few meals. Our server also immediately changed out our glasses as soon as we sat down without us having to say anything because he saw they had dried food on them. Overall, was not impressed with our $70 meal (including tip) and won't likely dine there again anytime soon.
True Authentic Cuisine. I last ate at Maggianos in 2005 in Durham at Streets at Southpoint. 13years later in Charlotte at Southpark Mall and I am still Satisfied with the Authenticity of the Food. Great Service and Ambiance was fairly well. Highly Recommended Dinner spot. By the way, they give you your money's worth of Food. You can eat at least twice off 1dish. Prepare to take some food home to be eaten the next day. What you're waiting on go ahead and get to Maggianos.
My boyfriend and I visited on a Sunday evening, which was busy but not on a wait luke it usually is on the weekends. There is a dinner for two option on the menu that allows you to order an appetizer, two main dished, a dessert, and two take home pastas for a very reasonable price. We had the mozzarella appetizer, which has ample portions and can feed at least 4 people. We both had the sausage gnocchi dish for dinner, which is a $5 upcharge per person but well worth it, and it also came in large portions. For dessert we had the traditional cheesecake which was good but average. I wanted creme brulee but they were out, so it must be good :) We had great service from Cameron, our server, who was prompt and attentive throughout the evening. We both had leftovers from dinner that were boxed up for us and brought out in sturdy bags with our take home pastas. Overall it was a great evening with great food.
The only downside to the venue is seating in the middle of the main dining can be very cramped and it can be hard to maneuver around tables. It almost feels like you are sitting on other people's laps. We opted for a table at the end of an aisle, which made the space issue better. If you can request and get a booth, do it because it will be worth the extra space.
This was the worst birthday dinner I've ever had!! Not only was the food not great, but there was a long strand of hair in my friend's salmon! Not on top of it, but literally cooked in the salmon. I had to watch her pull the strand of hair out of her mouth with a huge chunk of salmon on the end of it. The most disgusting thing ever!
Our server was very nice and informed the manager but that did not seem to be priority for her (the manager) because she took a long time to visit our table to rectify the situation.
Needless to say, I won't be dining here ever again and I regret spending my birthday here. If I could give zero stars, I would.
Had Reservations but still had to wait almost 45 minutes. It was extremely busy we said at the table for at least 15 minutes before we were ever greated. Our actual waiter only came over 2 times the enitre Time we were in the restaurant. It is just extremely busy all the time there lots of great restaurants around the area. I highly suggest you check out some of them
It was okay. I took my husband for an early Valentine's Day meal. He had a nice helping of shrimp scampi and I had the salmon on a bed of spinach from the Valentine's menu meal for two. It was rather costly and the complementary BOX of bites ended up a container of 3 that I had to ask for. Overall the restaurant was good. The next time we go we will just stick with the basic menu items. I think I will try the crabcake!
We had reservations and our table was ready when we got there. Our service was absolutely wonderful and she was very upbeat and energetic. Food was wonderful as usual, we always get the fried zucchini and the Marco deal for 2. I was upset they were out of mozzarella sticks but there is nothing I can do about that. Overall everything was wonderful.
The restaurant was beautiful, until I looked at the ceiling. The white ceiling tiles were covered in black dust, especially around the air returns. It was Valentine’s weekend so I expected the service to be a little slow but my glass went empty not once but twice. My wife was happy with her salmon and the sauce was great but, after sampling it, it tasted like any salmon you would get from a cheap fish place and appeared to be either over cooked or prefrozen. Not acceptable in my opinion. I had the fillet mignon and while the sauce and sides were great, my medium rare fillet was actually medium and a little on the dry side. I should have sent it back but I was hungry and it was getting late so I just bit my tongue and ate it. Overall it was a decent experience and maybe if it hadn’t been Valentine’s it would have been better but I left feeling a little disappointed after spending $75 + tip.
Over the past few months, it just feels like service has fallen off. We used to go here because we knew what we would get - ok Italian with reliable service. Now it seems the service isn't as reliable as it used to be - not sure if it's because we always bring our children, but the servers aren't as nice and welcoming, orders have been wrong - just not the same.
