Maggiano's - Bridgewater Ratings and Reviews
Our family loves Maggianos because of the nice Italian atmosphere and great food. Everyone enjoyed their dinners and the waiter worked very hard to make sure we had everything we needed. One suggestion would be to speed up the bar service if possible. Our cocktails took at least twenty minutes and some of our dinner drinks did not arrive until we had nearly finished eating. Thank you! We intend to return again soon.
Waiter was very pleasant. We had a guest with us that is lactose intolerant, the Chef came to our table to talk to our guest explaining what would be suitable for her to eat. It was a very enjoyable evening and the food was delicious. I would recommend the restaurant to everyone.
It was a busy Black Friday night, with this location near the mall, the place is packed. It took a little to be waited on. The wait staff seemed very busy. We ordered 2 appetizers, only one came, then the dinner came. We told the person who brought out the dinner (not the waiter) that we still have one appetizer to come. He said he would get it, but never came back. We told the waiter when he came to check on us. The appetizer came later. It took some time to get our water refilled, too. The good is good, but maybe not going on a busy night like this.
This was the Thanksgiving special. The turkey should have been the star of the show. It wasn’t. For two people we got about two and a half Swanson’s TV dinner’s worth of turkey. -Not carved from a roasted bird, but sliced in that processed way, with half light and half dark meat. The sides and dessert was nice but I guess they expected us to fill up on the pasta. The past came out almost cold. Not fresh, and the cheese was already hard.
Thanksgiving 2017 - service was unbelievably slow
We have gone to Maggiano's for Thanksgiving at least 5 times in the last 6 years. The food is always excellent. The portions are allll that you can eat - family style with refills. And, the servers are always very personable and friendly and cheery.
However, this year, the service was incredibly unbelievable slow and shoddy. We asked for something, and half the time it never arrived until we requested again. The other half, the items came loooong after we made the request.
We were a table of 4 with no special handling requests, and it took 3 hours for our entire meal. For a fixed menu, that is an incredibly long time. In the past, we were done in just over 1 hour.
We usually enjoy Maggiano's which has tasty Southern Italian-American food with large portions. It's especially nice for groups with several people. Thanksgiving dinner which was a prix-fixe with several choices for each course was a great disappointment. The turkey with gravy was tasteless and rubbery. The ham seemed like it had bottled smoke poured over it and left an unpleasant after taste. The sides were all bland. The only decent items were salad, bread, dessert and some of the bruschetta. Pasta wasn't bad but would have been better if it was hot. We will never have a holiday at Maggiano's again.
I took my mother here for her birthday. It was our first time and Ill have to honestly it’s one of my favorite restaurants! There’s something special about restaurants that make their food from scratch. Everything was excellent from the food to the service. I’m trying to make time to go back really soon.
This was my first visit to Maggianos and I was less than enthusiastic about trying a 'chain' restaurant---especially one that serves Italian food. So I was extremely pleased to find that my concerns were misplaced. First of all, the food is actually quite good. No, it does not approach a good home-cooked Italian meal but it is a far cry better than other chain establishments and as good as many stand-alone restaurants. I would rate the food alone at 3.5 stars. My overall rating shoots to 5 stars because the service was just outstanding. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, appropriately attentive without being intrusive and just an overall delight. The restaurant is known for checking about food allergies so I was not surprised when she asked us. She also mentioned that dishes can be altered by adding or subtracting ingredients. But I went a step further and asked about a dish that was not on the menu at all. Next thing I know, the chef comes to my table to discuss how I would like the dish prepared and he made a customized dish that fully met my expectations. Topping things off was the surprise free take home meal if you ordered from the classic part of the menu. Our party ordered one dish from that menu so we were gifted with an additional entree to take home. But then the waitress told us that the chef considered the special dish he custom-made for me a 'classic' so we received yet another free entree. While the prices were just a bit on the high side, when you add the free entrees that we took home, dinner was an incredible bargain.
I highly recommend this place.
It was a nice experience. We have been to Maggianos before and always enjoy it. Due to our reservation we were seated right away. The waiter was excellent.
We started off with calamari as an appetizer. It was all right. I had the parmesan crusted tilapia. It was very good. My husband had the chicken Saltimbocca. He commented several times how good it tasted. Our kids had the classic pastas, spaghetti and meatball and chicken fettuccine Alfredo.
For dessert we shared the New York cheesecake, the chocolate cake, and the chocolate brownie. Our only disappointment was that the brownie was charred on one side.
Food was excellent, service was great as well, chef came out to review my wife's dietary needs. Very crowed Saturday night, we were sat well after our reservations, manager was apologetic, just a bit disappointed in the long wait since we made reservations. We have been here a couple times and love the food and atmosphere. We will give them an opportunity to see if they improve upon their wait time.
