Maggiano's - Boston Ratings and Reviews
Had a very nice dining experience at Maggiano’s. We were grabbing a quick bite before heading over to watch Rain, the Beatles tribute. The service was very good, waiter was attentive and friendly. The food was good but not great, for an Italian restaurant you expect the pasta to be perfect but it was enough for what we were looking for. Overall good dining experience, if they could hit the nail on the head with their food it would have been perfect. Good espresso martinis (creamy)!
The Stella Beer keg ran out and my waiter did nothing to accommodate me at all. He brought me a tasteless tap beer and my option was to wait 5-10 minutes for my original order.
Ambiance was nice, food was exceptional. Goditi la serata! Bon Appétit!!!!!!
It was nice of our waiter to take our photo for Valentine's Day when we asked. My only recommendation for our waiter was to check in on us more frequently.
Overall I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend.
It was Valentines Day ; we were seated in the most awkward spot in the place. We were seated at a small table in the middle of the floor, the table was so small our menus were falling on the floor and in order for us to have enough room we had to move the candles, water glasses and other items off the table to accommodate our food and drinks. Usually we have such a great experience but this time it was a 2 at best what saved the night was the food and the person I was with that night
I've been to Maggiano's many times and this is the first time that I was dissatisfied. My food was not what I ordered and it was burnt. I tried to struggle through but at the end I had to complain to my waiter. I'm chalking it up to a bad night for the restaurant. I'll give it another try but I look forward to going there and it was disappointing.
Any time I make reservations ahead of time for Maggianos, I have no trouble getting a table and being seated right away. This dining experience with my husband was great. The brushetta bar is a must try! You're served 5 different options (though I think you could choose your own if you wish) and they are all delicious! We both had pasta dishes for dinner. My husband's manicotti was divine. And for dessert, a rich brownie with strawberries. My $10 off coupon was honored even though it was expired. I love Maggianos for before theatre experiences. Enjoy!
Service started out well but then we had to track them down. My friend ordered a meatball with her pasta which was not served until dinner almost completed. Cheese was not brought to the table until meal was actually completed. Eggplant parm undercooked and pasta aioli was dry. Sangria was excellent however and reception upon entering was very cordial.
This was my first time eating at this restaurant and sadly it will be my last, at this specific location that it! Although the food was good, the service was TERRIBLE! There are 3 menus, kids menu, dinner, and family style menu. My family was forced to order from the family style menu although we had already ordered from two other menus, why? Because many of us did not eat what was on the family style menu, and I do not think that we should’ve been forced to! if that was an issue we should’ve been notified then. However because one person decided to let someone have a taste off their plate management decided to step in ( I get that isn’t “classy” but it shouldn’t have been that serious). She then proceeds to letting us know our waiter was new, if he’s new why was he handling such a large group? and why doesn’t he know the rules? Why were kids charged adult prices as well? Our money could’ve been spent at a more family oriented restaurant. I would only recommend this place if your going on a date! Such a disappointment!
Great meal at Maggiano's. I have eaten here a number of times and always found it to be very consistent. This time the food seemed to have jumped a level for all four of us as we were very impressed with our dinners. The pesto dish, saltimbocca, piccata and marsala were fantastic. Cannot wait to return!
Went into Boston for a date night and this restaurant was close to the show we were seeing so we decided to make a reservation. Waited 20 minutes after our reservation time, which was fine since it was a Saturday night and it was busy. Servers seemed rushed and busy. Place was too loud to have a conversation. Food was way over priced for what you get. Lacked flavor. The only good thing was that it was hot when it arrived. Definitely won’t be coming back.
I used to go to this chain when I lived in Chicago and loved it for dinner or take out. This was just as good. I had chicken piccata - great - and my husband had the lasagna which he thought was a bit rich (isn’t that what lasagna is??). Will definitely be going back.
We made a reservation for 2 at 6:15 knowing we had theater tickets at 8pm. Restaurant did not seat us until 6:40 so we felt a little pressured and rushed and could not fully enjoy our experience. However, our waiter was sensitive to our time constraint and pushed our order through very quickly so we were able to finish our dinner in time to leave for the theater.
My veal marsala was a bit tough. This does happen though with the product. The flavor was there though. My guest had the shrimp scampi. It was mouth watering good. The wait staff was on key, professional, and friendly. It was my second time to this establishment and they did not disappoint. I do recommend making reservations.... it was easy to do and they were able to seat us early.
The food and cocktails were delicious and reasonably priced for downtown Boston. And everything tasted great! We were disappointed at how long we waited for our food. The waiter said the kitchen lost our ticket. After that, the food came very fast. We expected that something would have been comped because of the mixup and the wait, but it wasn't. We had to get our baby home to bed, so we didn't want to take the time to talk to a manager about it. We would go here again and hope for no lost tickets!
This was a birthday brunch with family and I must say it was wonderful!! Our Server, Chris, was amazing!! 5 star!!
I had lemon ricotta pancakes and they were better than any others I have tried in the past!! And they had $2 mimosas!! I will definitely be back and highly recommend this place!! I have also been to a few functions there in the past and have always enjoyed the Italian dishes and consistent professional customer service!!
The food and table service are very good. If you are sitting or standing at the bar waiting for a drink you will have a long wait. There are three bartenders. One services the waitstaff, one works the bar serving food and drinks as well as bussing dishes and restocking dishes and glasses. The third has to serve everyone else standing at or around the bar which is always a lot of people. You may find this very frustrating.
I really wanted to love this restaurant. My wife and I took our adult son on a recent Saturday night. It was extremely busy and extremely noisy. The food was fine but nothing special. Our main courses came out without us getting our appetizer first. The waitress was very apologetic though we weren't upset. We said that it was okay, that we didn't need it. She then came by later on with our appetizer and did not charge us for it. That was a nice thing to do but having already been eating our main dishes we had moved beyond wanting this appetizer. I overheard, at the two tables next to us, one to each side with different wait staff, that they also were having issues with their orders. It struck us that the staff were friendly, experienced, but overwhelmed. Our food came out very quickly and it seemed that turnover was a goal. I wanted to love this place but one visit will be enough.
