Maggiano's - Boston Ratings and Reviews
We have dined at this restaurant several times before and had enjoyable experiences. This time, however, we couldn’t get out fast enough. It took two and a half hours for dinner (even with reservations), the waitstaff were distracted and not attentive. The noise level was exceedingly high. We sat near the kitchen and were bumped into several times. We could also hear all of the chaos in the kitchen. Our meals were not hot and did not come out as we ordered. Staff could be seen doing side work rather than waiting on their tables.
Not sure if management changed or lacked on our particular night of dining, however, our experience was unpleasant enough that we have decided not to dine here again. So unfortunate.
One of our “go to” spots in Boston. Very convenient to the theater district This is a “chain” but you would never know it, cozy, abundant portions, attentive service and really great food. Make reservations on. Weekends or before / after shows get out, it gets very busy. Also a fun holiday place too ... nicely decorated
We came from a show arrived earlier then expected let the hostess know and we were taken earlier than reservation. We where celebrating a wedding anniversary and requested a simple romantic arrangement that was not upheld but overall I am very satisfied with the service food and atmosphere. Very satisfied and would recommend to friends family and also co workers looking for a nice place to break bread.
They were very prompt with the reservation. The food was very good and would highly recommend it. I had mamas lasagna and my girlfriend had rigatoni D we were very happy with the selection. We were also able to try the chicken Parmesan and that was amazing. The Italian sausage flatbread appetizer was amazing along with the muscles, save the bread for the juice!
Service was a bit slow but waiters were charming and very helpful/eager to please. I have FOOD ALLERGIES and not only did waiter ask (I did not need to volunteer info) but, he sent the CHEF himself out to speak to me! Nothing was a bother for the Chef who collaborated with me to adapt the fish of my choice to an allergy-free delicious meal of my choosing! This restaurant was a true find! Desert was absolutely delicious and Open Table made it all possible with a reservation just 1/2 hour away, which was 2 hours before the restaurant on its own could accommodate us!!!!
We were 5 minutes early for a 6pm reservation and weren’t seated until 6:45, unacceptable in my book, why bother making a reservation? If we were that late we would have been crossed off THEIR list!
After waiting all that time we were expecting dinner to be great, it was sub-par at best:..for an Italian restaurant the marinara sauce wasn’t at all good and the chicken in the chicken parm and the chicken piccata were exactly the same size , telling me that the chicken was prob frozen and not fresh.
Was not a great dining experience...
The food is great but plan on being later that you think. I gave us 2 hours before a show but ended up running to the show. Was seated 40 minutes after our reservation and had to call the waitress over so she could take our order quickly. Was not a very relaxing dinner. This was the first time this has happened to us but I'm afraid we may not take a chance coming here before a show anymore.
Had a very nice dining experience at Maggiano’s. We were grabbing a quick bite before heading over to watch Rain, the Beatles tribute. The service was very good, waiter was attentive and friendly. The food was good but not great, for an Italian restaurant you expect the pasta to be perfect but it was enough for what we were looking for. Overall good dining experience, if they could hit the nail on the head with their food it would have been perfect. Good espresso martinis (creamy)!
The Stella Beer keg ran out and my waiter did nothing to accommodate me at all. He brought me a tasteless tap beer and my option was to wait 5-10 minutes for my original order.
Ambiance was nice, food was exceptional. Goditi la serata! Bon Appétit!!!!!!
It was nice of our waiter to take our photo for Valentine's Day when we asked. My only recommendation for our waiter was to check in on us more frequently.
Overall I would definitely recommend this restaurant to a friend.
It was Valentines Day ; we were seated in the most awkward spot in the place. We were seated at a small table in the middle of the floor, the table was so small our menus were falling on the floor and in order for us to have enough room we had to move the candles, water glasses and other items off the table to accommodate our food and drinks. Usually we have such a great experience but this time it was a 2 at best what saved the night was the food and the person I was with that night
I've been to Maggiano's many times and this is the first time that I was dissatisfied. My food was not what I ordered and it was burnt. I tried to struggle through but at the end I had to complain to my waiter. I'm chalking it up to a bad night for the restaurant. I'll give it another try but I look forward to going there and it was disappointing.
Any time I make reservations ahead of time for Maggianos, I have no trouble getting a table and being seated right away. This dining experience with my husband was great. The brushetta bar is a must try! You're served 5 different options (though I think you could choose your own if you wish) and they are all delicious! We both had pasta dishes for dinner. My husband's manicotti was divine. And for dessert, a rich brownie with strawberries. My $10 off coupon was honored even though it was expired. I love Maggianos for before theatre experiences. Enjoy!
Service started out well but then we had to track them down. My friend ordered a meatball with her pasta which was not served until dinner almost completed. Cheese was not brought to the table until meal was actually completed. Eggplant parm undercooked and pasta aioli was dry. Sangria was excellent however and reception upon entering was very cordial.
