Maggiano's - Boston Ratings and Reviews
Have been to Maggiano’s 3-4 times in the past, but had not been there for a few years. We always enjoyed a nice quiet dinner in the past but not this time. The room was opened up, way to bright, and extremely loud!! It was hard to have any conversation during dinner (and we were at a table against the wall).
Food was better than average. Our waiter (the biggest server I have ever seen) was great!! And when the check came I had to check it twice because I was convinced he had forgotten a meal or two?
It’s a very busy place with lots of larger groups dining for birthdays, etc. From the appetizer lobster arracini, crab cakes with pasta, lasagne and creme brûlée were flawless. Best Italian food we’ve ever had in a restaurant. Marinara sauce was just like it was from the old neighbourhood. Service was perfect.
Girl (with the glasses) that check us in gave us the impression she was going out of her way...a bit rude for someone greeting customers as they enter the restaurant ! However, the rest of the dining experience was great....our waiter (Tom) was excellent and the food was fantastic. We
will be back again...and maybe can avoid the rude girl at the greeting desk next time.
Athough the food and service were great, the table for 8 was located in an awful area. Persons heading to be seated had to squeeze by, and kept bumping the chair located closest to the corner. The restaurant was practically empty, after all, it was a 4pm reservation on Saturday, nobody clamoring for a table. I believe we could have been seated in one of many other spots. As the restaurant began to seat people nearby, even with 3 small kids, it was necessary to adjust chairs to accommodate the new customers.
I do not understand the reviews I read for this restaurant. Our food was less than good isnd lower than average. I had chicken Marcella that barely had any Marcella sauce in it. My husband had veal Parmesan that was thick and chewy the sauce was not of a high-quality.
We will not be returning.
Very busy night but with reservations we were quickly seated. Service was fast and the server friendly and helpful - clearly knew what is served and the preparation. The linguine with seafood options had a light red sauce/broth that was tasty & mild peppery . The portions were very large. Could use a few more craft beer options on tap.
I was with a large group of friends, 13 of us altogether. The service is always excellent. The food is good (not great) and there are good vegetarian options, as we're a mixed group of vegetarians and non-vegetarians. However, the family style menu is mandatory for parties of eight or more and it's really overpriced considering the quality of the food.
Six members of my party (including me) are mobility-challenged and the entrance is extremely unfriendly to disabled people. It is wrong (and I suspect illegal) to force someone with a walker to struggle through a revolving door. There is a door that opens, but there was a angry sign taped to it and a bar stool propped in front of it that prevented anyone from using it.
Our bill with tip was $900. Next time we go out we'll give our $900 to a restaurant that doesn't only allow customers who can walk. The waitstaff is excellent and were very helpful about folding up and moving walkers out of the way, but the management needs a course in handicapped accessibility.
I stopped by here with my sister on my way out of Boston on a business trip. My sister has a number of food allergies. The staff was extremely accommodating of her food allergies. The manager even came out to discuss how he could help. Highly recommend for individuals with food allergies.
Farewell dinner celebration for six was reserved ahead. Round table as requested was ready for us which was a good start. Server was patient and attentive as we took a while to decide. Food was served very hot and in a timely manner. Two of us ordered lobster carbonara which was rated 4 stars, but not the very, very high 5 stars as experienced at the Orlando Maggianos. Apparently the pasta wasn’t prepared as well. Two of us ordered the large shrimp fra diavalo (like 20 shrimp!) and that dish was consumed with many raves. I ordered the GF blackened salmon Oscar which was cooked perfectly and prepared with a very generous amount of cream sauce.
Maggiano's is a favorite... the eggplant parmesan is really delicious. I also must recommend the meat sauce. My son got the chicken parm and was delighted. Very generous servings, even a 16 yr old boy couldn't finish his entire dinner & had to take 1/2 home for leftovers. DELICIOUS as leftovers... you can't go wrong with Maggiano's. From the bread & dipping oil to the amazing entrees, it's worth a visit!
We had a family celebration for my Mom's birthday and ate family style. It was a very special evening and everyone enjoyed the food - exceptionally tasty. My sister has diet restrictions and she was able to eat all but one item. She was somewhat worried the menu was really safe for her diet since everything tasted so good. But the next day, she happily reported she felt great.
We had a lovely time in Maggianos. We just discovered as we walked past it and we went in that night and returned for three more nights. The food was really tasty, comforting filling and in generous proportions. Also, the ambiance is really nice, with families and young people and couples. It was value for money.I will return there soon
