Food was excellent but the service was not very good.
Not as good as it used to be. Went for my daughter's birthday - this is one of her favorite places. Went early on a Monday so the place was practically empty. Service was fine. Food was just OK. I got the shrimp scampi and it was honestly almost a soup. There was so much liquid that the pasta and shrimp were floating in the plate. It was ok - not good or great. My daughter ordered a dish off the specials - chicken and cavatappi. It came in a really dense cream sauce with shell pasta. Very, very heavy and she ate about 1/3 of it. Again, just OK. Chicken parm dish with pasta was good. Almost not worth the trip into Boston anymore for Maggiano's.
Terrible food and service. And to complete the experience the restaurant marked me as a no show!! Will never go there again.
Did the family dining. So much food
I will definitely be going back in the very near future. Extremely friendly staff who are constantly asking you if you need any refills or more bread or anything at all. Food came out very quickly and was excellent! Absolutely zero complaints about my experience there.
They have our reservation away
Made a 6:45 Open Table reservation on Saturday evening. When we arrived the lobby and waiting area were very crowded. Checked in and told our wait would be a few minutes. Seated about 15 after rez time and enjoyed a great meal with terrific and quick wait staff service. Each had a veal dish which was cooked perfectly.
Food was just mediocre. Service was fantastic. Waiter was attentive and kept us on schedule. (We has theater tickets that evening after dinner.)
We had a reservation for 3 at 5:30 on a Saturday. Restaurant was full but we were still seated on time. Service was efficient. We had the Surf and Turf, Filet and Chicken Parmigiana. We were all very satisfied. I personally can say that it was the best chicken parm I have ever had. Crispy crust moist tend chicken and just the right amount of parm and marinara. Wonderful experience. Oh and enjoyed a warm apple dessert too.
Expected more - waiters were distracted. Food was variable - ranged from great to bland. Over-crowded.
Great food. Amazing service and overall great experience. Family style filled us all and made for great family celebration.
Best brunch, amazing service, great mimosas, ..........................................................new fav spot in the city for saturday brunch
I was taken there for my birthday..it was a wonderful celebration...excellent food and service.
Fantastic food and fantastic server named Brian. Was a great first experience there !
We had dinner at Maggiano's before going to a show and enjoyed our food. Our service was not the best - very slow in helping us and we couldn't even find him to get our check when we needed to leave. Simple things like there were only 2 of us and we got a bottle of wine. The table was big enough that it was challenging to reach the wine without getting up. He would come and check on us and I would have to ask him to hand me the wine so that I could pour some. On the bright side, I enjoyed that they had traditional italian dishes that they made lighter to reduce the calorie count, but they certainly didn't lack in flavor.
We ordered drinks, an appetizer, and two entrees. Drinks came. 10 minutes later the waiter asked us to remind him of our order. I told him the entrees (assuming appetizer was already in). Appetizer never came. Entrees were not anything special. Food was just as good as Bertuccis but more expensive. we live 20 minutes away and had to park in a garage. Our reservation was for 645 and we were home by 8. The whole dinner was rushed. The waiter didn't pay attention to us. Didn't even offer the survey at the end even though he offered it to the table right next to us (so close our chairs were touching). He did try to offer a free dessert because he forgot the appetizer. We thanked him and declined. Not worth it to drive in to Boston when we have a Davios right in town.
Had a business dinner there. Service was poor, and took a lot longer than usual. Felt like our table of 6 was not very important to them. drinks were often empty, no bred until mid meal, appetizer came out after salads and was luke-warm. Food seemed like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile. we were disappointed.
It was a good idea at the time for a family birthday dinner, but things seemed different since the last time we went. I cannot believe $20 for 1 glass of wine. There was 8 of us..do the math. 1 bar tab crazy., plus not to mention, the bartender was very unpleasant, and we got the impression we were bothering him, mind you imagine what his tip would be if he was at least polite, he couldn't even be bothered. So not worth it. Dinner time, we were seated in a very busy and crowded area, and not people crowded, but with tables and chairs on top and next to each other. I guess it was the area that had the only register and every waitperson walked/rushed pass us constantly bumping the backs of our chairs. I did request a while back that we preferred the main dining area, trust me, this was over a month in advance and it wasn't even crowded. Sunday, 5pm. Enough with the "family style menu" that's forced on you if you're more than 4 people. Not everyone wants those options, plus the 1 vegetarian in the party felt like if it wasn't salad or just plain pasta, then that was it. Give the paying customers the choice. Put both menus on the table and let them decide. The food that came out in family style was rushed. Like there was this food already prepped and ready to go. It was not up to standard. The chicken piccata was very dry. The chicken parm was dry and hard. The ravioli (the 1 thing on that family menu for the vegetarian) was chewy and under done. AlDente. The calamari was cold, and rubbery, and the caesar salad was overdressed. We asked for anchovie on thew side....2 thin strips were given to us on a small plate. that's it? spare us plz. Our waitress Elaina was very gracious and accommodating when we did see her...poor thing was running all over the place. I'm sorry but this place and their family style is not worth the $37pp. I like quality over quantity any day. Then you are guaranteed a good meal. Family style is not that, it seems mass produced
Dinner before going to see the show aren’t
Amazing service and delicious food.
Maggiano's was recommended by our tour driver. We made our reservations online. There was a large group of us waiting for a table. My only suggestion is perhaps to open a separate room for a large group as there was no way for anyone to get through the front area of the restaurant. our server was great. I would highly recommend the filet mignon with the asparagus risotto. the creme brulee was delicious. Great location, and within walking distance of our hotel
Dined at Maggiano’s for our Anniversary and we couldn’t be happier! Service was prompt even though we arrived early for our reservation. Service was delicious excellent and the food amazing! Can’t wait to go back!
The food was adequate and some of the dishes came slightly incorrect
24 th Bday
The location is perfect when in the Park Plaza area - the Italian aroma is heavenly when you enter the restaurant and it gets better from there. Food was great and our service was just perfect enough ... attentive yet not hovering - she was a delight ! We look forward to returning...
Food and service were great. Unbelievable and authentic. Will definitely return for special occasions.
We always make it a point to eat at Maggiano’s when visiting the city! The food & service are always amazing.
Awesome evening. Amazing food and excellent service. Maggiano's is the BEST! Thank you!!
“How you guys doing?” Our server referred to my fiancée (a female) and I (a make) as “guys” every single time he sole to us. How about “sir,” and “madam,” or even “folks?” Not impressed.
Great service - awesome waitstaff and hosts - they were super helpful - even with some special requests. Chicken Parmesan was absolutely delicious. Thanks for getting us to our show with time to spare!
We never made it to the ordering process. We were called for our table, walked up to the podium, and then stood there waiting. The man seating tables obviously forgot about us, we watched 4 other two person parties be seated by the same man and then we finally walked out (after about 20 minutes of standing there). We asked the women taking names if we were still in line and her response was "he called your name didn't he." Once we were outside the restaurant, the same man came outside and said "I can set you now, why are you outside." He said it with an attitude (which was even more frustrating). We walked cross the street and had a fantastic experience at another restaurant.
These people have horrible attitudes and the customer is obviously a pain for them. The place was busy, so I am assuming the food is good. It is just too bad that people of this kind keep their jobs when they act in this manner. My advice - eat someplace else.
Alfredo sauce was poorly made and gnocchi was still cold after sending it back to be heated.
It was my Birthday dinner. It was great, food was delicious and the service was awesome!
Glad we got to get in on a reservation last minute. Food was wonderful and quick service!
Great god and service . Enjoyed our meals!
Great restaurant, one of our all time favorites for classic Italian cuisine. Love the Prince Edward Island Mussels prepared Tuscan style, also the Bruschetta Tour! Highly recommended.
Veal marsala - $31.00 - three VERY SMALL medallions of veal .... really?
Had to ask for water to be refilled - and waitress never came back to do that.
I will absolutely recommend friends and family. The creamy potato and chicken soup, the Tuscan shrimp and chicken pasta were superb served with a 9 ounce glass of Merlot 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿 I will be back.
They make the best eggplant Parmesan that I have ever tasted! It was a beautiful experience. Great prices and tasted like it was made by your grandmother. Fresh and perfectly made.
