Maggiano's - Bellevue Ratings and Reviews
I liked the bruschetta bar—choosing two delicious varieties, however I was underwhelmed by the main dish I had, filet and asparagus risotto. The filet mignon was tasty but the risotto was too salty and had very little asparagus. It might be fine for comfort food, but the flavors were not interesting.
The Make-a-wish dessert was yummy: pound cake with ice cream, hot fudge sauce and bananas.
The table layout and vibe made a better setting for group dining than date night.
Service was disappointing. Server was perfectly nice but not very present. Also asked for my daughters pasta to come out early to avoid a meltdown (16 month olds can get hangry) and it definitely did not come out early. More like 2 or 3 minutes before our meal (it was literally ziti pasta with olive oil on it, nothing fancy) and it was hard enough that I could tell it had sat. Every time I tried to catch anyone’s eye to ask about it I felt like I was actively ignored and didn’t see our server for maybe 15-20 minutes. I think she was working the bar area and we were her one table in the dining room. We purposely scheduled a 4:30 reservation hoping to avoid the rush and have a pleasant experience for my mother in laws birthday. It was just okay. Not worth the drive from North Seattle or the time. Don’t think we’ll be back in the near future.
Great food and service, excellent menu options, I loved the personal visit by the chef with a complimentary side, and I liked the atmosphere. I have 2 suggestions: better seating for 2 (people on a date). We were seated in the middle of it all. There was more private seating available, but even with a reservation we were seated at a table set for 4. And second: use organic. I assume you don't since I didn't see it on the menu and the server didn't mention it.
As always, we go out to Maggiano’s for my wife’s birthday dinner. Tonight the food was as good as every time. The food speed tonight was not up to normal standards though. First they ran out of bread and said they had fresh bread cooking and should be just a minute. Then 5 or 10mim later the waiter said they had an issue with the bread and it should just be 6-8 more min and he was sorry. My response to this was please bring 2 and you are forgiven, the waiter responded “ no problem you got it” several min later 1 small bread arrived. It was cold, obviously not fresh cooked. He said they had to go to qfc to get more bread. 😒. What?!?!!!
Ok so moving on and forward. our food was good and hot and it was very worth our money. Next time i would like to see improvement please.
We spent over 10 minutes waiting for someone to come over until we signaled a waitress. She took our order, then a different waitress came to say she was our waitress and some story about zones. When food came, my wife’s food was all wrong and had to be returned. When we asked for coffee the cups came without plates. When I asked they said they had run out of coffee plates. When we asked for our leftovers the waitress came back with them and left them in the floor!!!
I am finding today's dining experience just gets worse and worse almost to the point where I don't even want to go anymore. My experience at Maggiano's was a breath of fresh air! At other places, I have to ask for things like water, napkin, silverware, yes silverware! Then after you ask for it, they will usually forget. At Maggiano's, I had bread, water, raspberry lemonade, coffee, cream, sugar, silverware, napkin, all before my meal came! What is this magical place? I eat at a lot of fine restaurants in the Bellevue area where you have to pay big bucks to beg for dining essentials and sub-par service. It's nice that a place like Maggiano's still exists.
We had a reservation for 6:15, didn't get seated until well after that. We are a tall family and were seated at a table in the aisle way. My daughter was so close to the next table that she kept getting elbowed. The waitress was nice but obviously overbooked, I had to ask to a refill on drinks. Again, she was nice, but had a lot going on. It was way too crowded and chaotic. We have been one time before and it was great, this time, not so great.
Started off great. Reservation was on time and hostesses friendly. Server knew her job and also very nice. Had an appetizer, very good. Dinner was delivered and looked good. Unable to cut my veal piccata with a knife. Server took it back to remake. Manager came over very condescending to tell me the veal was what it is and you need a steak knife to cut it. Remade it, took 20 minutes and then brought it with no noodles. Noodles never came. Server apologized. Ordered a dessert of chocolate cake. Took 25 minutes to get the dessert. I wondered if the manager was holding it up. Husband ordered baileys coffee and he was well done by the time it finally arrived. Not the servers fault. That manager either needs training or needs a new job. Totally ruined our night out.
This was the first time dining at Maggiano’s. I went based on a recommendation. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The waitress was excellent! Great job Mary! The only issue I had was the noise level. Not a place to go if on a date. Other than that, I’d definitely go there again!
Note: I’m not familiar with restaurant layout, so there could be a quiet spot elsewhere in establishment. I was in main dining area.
We had a group of 15, they were very accommodating with our reservation...however, things kind of went down hill from there. The food was pretty good but the service was definitely not great. Our cups were empty more than not and we had to wait a while to get more bread, ask a question, and get the bill.
We enjoyed our meal here, but our waiter must have had 10 cups of coffee before waiting on us, as he rushed us so much. We had an early reservation (our relatives wanted to take advantage of happy hour pricing for appetizer and beverages), so maybe that was it. He must have cycled back to us 5 times, asking us to order our main dishes before our appetizers even arrived. When I asked for a light portion of my dish, something didn't click, and a huge portion of the regular size arrived instead. I had them take it back. All in all, a good place for a family dinner or out with friends. Wouldn't call it fine dining -- more of an Italian comfort food kind of place.
Went for New Year's Eve dinner and although it was very busy the staff were friendly and smiling, especially our waitress. Amazing food - chicken and spinach manicotti is my absolute favorite! I get it every time and it never disappoints. We come back every time we are in Bellevue!
