Maggiano's - Bellevue Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I went for a late Valentines day dinner. The place had a nice aisa to it - Nostalgic decor, nice ambience, excellent service (we had Joe). The food is fresh and is made to order. While the taste was pretty good, it wasn't exactly mind blowing. I would rays the food a 3.5 stars.
We didn't know they have a concept of giving out another classic pasta of your choice when you order one (which I happened to do) and that was a pleasant surprise.
We will probably be back, but mainly for the overall experience and not primarily for the food.
We go here for Valentine's Day every year because they are by far the best on such a busy night. We've tried several other restaurants and they've all been terrible. Our service this night was exceptional! I usually make the reservation early on here and this time I requested a booth in the notes and they actually had one waiting for us! Our server even noticed I had a couple pieces of bread on my plate to take home and he sent us home with a whole new loaf in our to-go bag. They have a special on Valentine's Day but we usually order off the regular menu, which is very reasonably priced and then we have lots of leftovers for the next couple days. I highly recommend Maggiano's on any night, but especially Valentine's Day.
We dined at Maggiano's for Valentine's Day, and we could not have picked a better place to spend our evening. Food was delicious, atmosphere was warm, and our server was super attentive and accommodating of my vegetarianism. My partner and I agree that we had a really special night.
I booked this reservation 2 months ago for Valentine's Day. This is my wife's favorite restaurant. I was surprised that upon arrival when we were brought to the banquet room where it felt more like a cafeteria than the little Italian restaurant we love. The food and service were amazing. I just feel that if this is something they are going to do to pack as many people in as possible they should disclose upfront. We will not be back for valentines day.
The restaurant was overbooked. Instead if the main dining area, we we seated at one if a bunch of small tables set up in a banquet room in back. Our table was shakey; the top spun and nearly toppled my wine. We moved to a steadier table but by the time a manager offered to move us to the main dining area, our food had arrived.
This was not a memorable Valentine experience!
I just wouldn't order steak as it's not a steak house and clarify. I pointed at what I wanted and he repeated the higher Filet and I didn't catch it. It wasn't rare and took over 30 minutes to receive.... Wait staff and Manager was very timely and letting me know the kitchen was behind which I appreciated however the 23$ steak I ordered was $36 which was the center cut however I didn't catch that he asked this... I just caught Filet Minion.. If I spelled that correct. Huge difference in what we spent and it was dry and not rare.... Lesson learned is stick to Italian food when you go there as that is what they do BEST. I love it.
I ate alone because I was honoring someone who is no longer here. In my reservation, I asked for a table off the main crowd of folks. Instead, I was placed right in the center and I felt really awkward. My waiter wasn't very friendly. I also paid $5 to add crab to my alfredo and found TWO sugar cube sized pieces. My waiter took my bread away, which still had 3 of 5 pieces in it. He didn't ask and he didn't box it up. I have been going to Maggiano's for years and have never been this disappointed before. I didn't even want to stay and honor my friend, I just wanted to get out of there.
Our first visit, and we will return. Hint: there is a reference to validating parking. Parking is free on Saturday and Sunday. If your server asks if it is your first visit, let her or him know if it is. At least ask about the "Chef's Reward" menu. We ate three meals from our order! What a great value.
There was a lot of high school kids dressed up, possible prom or for home coming, so tables were full. Many tables with parties of 12+. We were seated right away even though one person did not arrived, which was awesome. Parking was a nightmare! Room was fairly loud-it helped that we had a booth and was able to scoot closer so we could hear each other. Calamari was great and water glasses stayed full. Main course took awhile-waiter apologized, so did the manager, but we didn’t notice because we were busy catching up. Then it felt like a while had passed till our main courses arrived. It was a full house so it’s understandable that they were busy, at least our bread basket was always kept full of warm rolls. I had the lobster carbonara, it was plenty and tasted good, but not great. Friend had the regular carbonara and she said it was dry. I was halfway eating while my other party was finishing up and had their plates taken and we were offered dessert menus. Kind of felt like they were rushing us out now. When dessert came I finally finished my dinner and had my plate taken away. Then the check was dropped off. We just had a bite of dessert, asked them to pack what was left to go. Payed and left. Had a better experience before but since they were busier that night we felt like we were either waiting or getting rushed. Will def come again but probably not during the weekend or when the kids have a social event happening.
The service was excellent and the food was delicious. a small amount of wine was spilled at our table and they handled it excellent. Immediately making sure we were ok and no clothing effected and then gave my date an extra glass of wine. Manger stopped by and checked on us as well. Top notch service.
I have eaten at Maggiano's for years. I used to go to them in Chicago, then in Arizona and now in Seattle. I have eaten at this location 20-30 times in the past but no more. The quality of the food and dropped. It's no longer as good as it was a year ago. The prices have gone up as well. Our server spent more time talking about her 5 kids and not having time to go to a movie then making sure our order was correct. The salad we ordered was not the one we got. My chicken was over cooked and the pasta was dry. I have had this dish many times and expected the same quality.
What's more having to wait 60 minutes for a table to overpay for mediocure food quality with so many other great places to eat now in the area, I don't see myself ever coming back.
Sad but my days at Maggiano's after 30 years of being a loyal customer are done.
We have been costumers of Maggiano's Bellevue location for years. Food is always good, service is always great, and the experience is exactly what we need. We heard a few months ago that they were doing brunch, so we were excited to try it (A friend, my husband, and I). It was a monumental disaster! They were out of everything, as if they were a new restaurant or they had just started the brunch service. My drink (Beam Eight Star Whiskey) didn't look like the menu described and was definitely not made with whiskey), so we found out they were out of many of the things in the description, but we weren't told until we asked, surprised. Then, they were also out of the dish two of us had ordered (the Creme Brûlée French Toast), but we didn't find out until 35 minutes after we had ordered our food! In fact, 55 minutes after ordering our food one of the managers came to tell us that they had had a "massive accidents" with the eggs and they could not prepare my husband's Eggs Benedict. Instead they were going to give him scrambled eggs. When we complained, and my husband said he rather have a frittata, they told us they were going to check out... 10 minutes later, as we were prepared to leave they told us they could do the frittata and the food showed up 5 minutes later. The manager then proceeded to tell us he was going to give us a "substantial" discount and... wait for it... take the Eggs Benedict that we never receive out of the check... wow! So nice! They took $8 out of our check and $6 from the check of our friend. The waitress was nice and all, but she would disappear for large stretches of time and when we complained about the time it was taking she told us they had 2 large parties of 20 people... 30% of the tables were empty and Maggiano's has a reputation for taking care of large parties. Any given evening they are packed and have multiple large parties, but on Sunday at noon, with 30% of the tables empty, they could not handle our table of 3 and 2 tables of 20.
