Maggiano's - Bellevue Ratings and Reviews
We made reservations, but was told since the previous party was late on their arrival we had to wait for the party to finish. 20 minutes past our reservation, I complained and we were finally seated with way too much attitude. Our primary waiter was awesome, but the meatballs were dry, we had to ask for bread plates which was a different waiters fault. Overall the front desk customer services was very poor, and then as we were walking out the front desk girl was on face time twirling her hair with her boyfriend. Seriously?!
This was our third year in a row coming to Maggiano's for our company's holiday meal. We have a small staff and Maggiano's has previously been excellent in serving our party (typically under 15 people), but this year was pretty disappointing.
We had a 7:45pm reservation and it wasn't until 8:20pm that we were seated. The server was polite and greeted us promptly. Came back about 10 minutes later to get drink orders. One of which he forgot (the company's owner too). We reminded the server of the forgotten beer, but it never came. The company owner had to go to the bar to get his own beer.
Due to the size of our group, we did family style. We had to request multiple times for more food to be brought out as they'd bring only one pasta bowl for 14 people to share. At least three times, requests for more food were not followed through on.
There was too long of a delay between the salads and appetizer and when the pasta and entrees came out (about 45min). It made the whole group question what's going on and why the delay. We had some gluten-intolerant people in our group and the shrimp scampi had overcooked gluten-free noodles.
With so many issues and a bill that almost hit $1,000, we will most likely be looking for a new place to have our company dinner next year.
My daughter has allergies and the chef was so nice about trying to make her something that was delicious. Unfortunately, the kitchen made a mistake and they had to remake the dish., twice. That meant a long wait for our meal but his concern for my daughter’s health was impressive. When the food finally came out it was all hot and delicious. They compensated us for the meal and couldn’t have been nicer, apologizing for the wait. We will be going back again.
Several friends had raved about Maggiano's so we were looking forward to trying it ourselves. We love the restaurant itself, everyone we interfaced with had the most upbeat attitude, food was wonderful. Happy hour prices even in the dining room for appetizers and beverages. Could not have had a better dinner. Had the try-two-pastas-there-and-take-two-home dinner for two so got to enjoy a second dinner at home the following night and can't wait to go back again. Thought our dinner delicious and very good value for all we got! Charming staff.
We got every Christmas. We get so excited and usually have an amazing time. This time was a huge disappointment. The food was good, the place was beautifuly decorated. The problem with our evening was our server. She was a nice lady but not in any way cable of handling the fast paced large group. She didn’t know the menu well. She was super slow. She didn’t offer us drinks, when we did finally get drinks she took for ever to refil themafter asking several times. She also took forever entering our order.
We will for sure go back next year we just hope we get a better server.
This restaurant is not as good as it use to be. The server did nothing to make our visit special, as my wife said "just a job". The house salad is still wonderful but the mussels were not up to their old standard. The change in the wine sauce was a mistake in my opinion. Used to have butter and garlic and use to be one of my favorites but I won't order it again. On top of all that the mussels were over cooked. Was shocked at the 14 hands Merlot wine at $10.50 a glass. I can buy that wine in the store for $8.00 a bottle. Their wine list was way over priced. One more thing, where was the music. An Italian restaurant without some Sinatra in the background, not good. Probably won't be going back.
Great food. Very slow service as it seems there were not enough servers. And our server had no knowledge of wine list which slowed things down even more as it meant checking in with the bar. We will return as this is a favorite tradition when we visit Bellevue.
Restaurant was really busy; noise level high; could not hear the music! When large group near us left, conversation easier. Everyone loved their food! Our table was ready per reservation; and we all agreed Maggiano’s is a definite “keeper”
Before I forget - Ashe was a wonderful server; his service (and great personality) mAde the evening perfect! Thank you Ashe!
Made a reservation and was told, "you are next on my list" while we watched them usher multiple similar-sized parties in front of us while we waited 30min past our reservation time. Service was slow, place was crowded. Waiter forgot to bring water for a while and we had to ask for vinegar for the bread. 10min later we had to catch him and ask whether he was going to bring it, and he scurried off to get it. He brought it and blamed someone else who assured him they would bring it. Overall the service was terrible and the food was mediocre - not worth the price paid.
We have a holiday tradition after Snowflake Lane we dine at Maggiano's. It's great for large groups. We are not normally chain restaurant fans, however, I have to say the meal we had on Friday was the best dish we have ever eaten here, it was on the daily sheet and was amazing. The server was a bit over the top on trying to push/sell us stuff on the menu and when we had questions about items i.e. the wine he didn't know the answer and had to go ask. If you are having your servers promote certain items then they should be more educated. Like know where the wine was from. Not a bad experience just feedback for improvement.
2 out of 3 diners were exceptional. Chicken Marsala was cold and not prepared well. Chicken was too thick, and everything tasted precooked a and tossed together at the last minute. Mushrooms were cool to the lip and clearly not cooled in the sauce.
Still, I like the restaurant and will go again.
Repeated 3 times to leave stroller outside in hallway. We had agreed the first time. Just annoying.
Server was inexperienced and recommended a bad tasting dish. I’m thinking he only recommended because it was one of the more expensive items.
Waited a pretty long time for them to bring the bill and then come back for the credit card. Probably in the region of over 10 minutes. When I have to start waving my hand to get their attention to run my card the service is poor.
My glass of water no one bothered to refill it.
Won’t be back.
The food was simple and delicious. Our waiter was friendly, helpful, and non-intrusive. Bonus is the “gift dinner” option offered with certain pasta dishes: buy one, get a second (of your choice) to take home.
My adult family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
we had a reservation but had to wait at least 15 minutes for our table. There was nobody else waiting for tables and the restaurant was not busy due to it being 9:30. When I mentioned to my friends how long we were waiting, I heard the hostess say, Oh, and proceeded to show us to our table. The restaurant has half empty. Seems like the hostess forgot we were waiting. other than that, the food was good and the waiter was ok. Did not really explain the family style dining very well though.
The food was good not great and the waiters did a decent job but the kitchen messed up on 3 of the 7 orders we had placed.
The overall experience was not bad but not great, I was in Bellevue today for a business lunch meeting and instead of Maggiano's we went to McCormick's next door, I would have gone back if my experience wasn't so lets say (so so) on Saturday night.
We ate here on a recent trip to Bellevue. We got an OpenTable reservation at about 45 minutes before we arrived, so it worked out very well. The place was packed on a Friday night with an hour wait. My husband and I both ordered the Shrimp Diablo which was fantastic! I look forward to returning again for that dish. The shrimp was very fresh and perfectly cooked, the pasta was excellent and the broth was fantastic. Oh, and our son loved their pizza. Very friendly wait staff, as well.
Great place!!!!! Old style Italian feel, down to the tableclothes and old style building.
Great service except our tables lady was not very good at all. But it was a separate issue rather then the all over service. Food was great came out fast and resonably prices. We will go again. Jacqueline Erbe
We went there for our first Thanksgiving dinner out ever (we are 60). The special menu was generous and while the family style portions did not look oversized everything was bottomless so it just didn't matter. Only complaint was that the table wasn't big enough for ALL of the dishes that were included in this feast! The food was delicious and the 3 of us were surprised how quickly we got full. There were many leftovers to take home. It felt just like Thanksgiving to me without all of the preparation and clean up...just the good parts!
