Maggiano's - Austin Ratings and Reviews
We had a lovely family meal for a birthday get together. We didn't tell anyone that it was a special occasion because we just wanted to enjoy the wonderful food and setting and each other. The food was wonderful (and plentiful!), the Oregon Pinot Noir was delightful, and the chocolate desert was crazy good. Thanks for another fantastic meal.
Took a friend for his birthday. The reservation was ready when the first party arrived and although they were not busy nor full they refused initially to seat us until the person parking the car arrived. I understand on busy nights with a wait not wanting to surrender a table to a single patron to hold for stragglers but on a quiet night that is completely unnecessary. Our driver arrived after a couple of minutes and we were seated but then waited several minutes before a server appeared to take drink and appetizer orders. From here on out though the evening definitely improved after its not too promising beginning. Service was then quick and attentive but not interfering. The food is quite good although some dishes seem a bit pricey but the pasta dishes are a great value, and very well prepared. We had chicken Francese, Milanese, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Rigatoni. All were well made and the pasta perfectly al dente.
The Bellinis are well mixed and our appetizer (bruschetta, which the waiter even pronounced correctly!) was *delicious.*
The lemon cookies, complementary for a birthday celebration, were quite tasty- light and almost cake like with a distinct lemony tartness that was a perfect end to the meal.
The food was great as usual, but the service was excessively slow. We have been to Maggiano's many times and have never had a two hour dinner. From ordering to food delivery and getting drinks, everything took way too long. Hoping it was just a bad night for the server and/or kitchen staff.
Made a reservation but didn’t sit down until 30 min after reservation time, even though we were all on time and I got the text message that said my table was ready 5 min before reservation time. We were there for two birthdays. They got the meals for one of the birthday people wrong, which was all right, but they forgot to fix it immediately, so his meal didn’t arrive until we were all done. We received an apology, which was much appreciated. Just unfortunate timing since we love going there and we were excited to be there to celebrate.
Our waiter was exceptional. She was thorough and discussed all menu choices. She was extremely attentive to our group of eight although the restaurant was full. From bar drinks, appetizers and entrees, the service and food was excellent. Obviously, this is an Italian restaurant, they do pasta very well. They do filet mignon equally well. The peach bellini is superb. Need I say more? Well done, Maggiano's!
I have been to 3 other Maggiano's around the country. The food is always good, but at this restaurant I was disappointed with the service. Two staff servers, not ours, checked on us 10 minutes after we sat down. FInally ours came by, I think she was taking a smoke break and her clothing were messy and her hair out of place all over. She was friendly and kept our glasses filled once the other server brought them to us. Definitely go for the food and maybe we just had an off night on servers.
Love this restaurant. Sat outside this time and Santa was taking care of the kids a few shops down. Fun to watch but the music was a little loud. Cannot blame Maggiano’s as they warned us up front, but it was too nice a day to be cooped up inside. Great food, service, and atmosphere at a reasonable price.
This was my date and I's first time at Maggianos Austin Domain location! We loved our entire experience there!! Heather was our server! She did a fantastic job serving us! She made great meal recommendations, tried to get to know us, asked us the right questions, and in our opinion deserves either a raise or a promotion! We would be happy to come back to and eat at Maggianos any day for any event!!
Made a reservation - Got there 15 min early got greeted as we walk in the restaurant and we got seated right away which was impressive. Our waiter Daniel was so nice and took really good care of us. Drinks are always full, bread keep on coming along with the balsamic and olive oil. He explained the menu very well and seems like he knows the food too well. As we got our food, they were delicious and like my mom would say "That's out of sight". I love how he packed our left overs and on top of that one of our order came with a free dinner. Overall experience was pretty awesome. I recommend this place and will surely be back again.
Very disorganized. We had reservations. Was given a buzzer. Buzzer went off. Went up and had no idea who we were. We were told to wait by dining entrance and nobody came to take us to our table. Finally someone one helped us and must have put us in another table of 6 since they obviously put another party of 6 in our table
There for thanksgiving. Meal was good but their website did not indicate it was going to be a fixed price set menu. Less concerned with fixed price than I was fixed menu. I booked maggianos because we wanted Italian food. Not necessarily turkey and dressing. There were 7 of us and table was very crowded with plates and dishes. Also felt we received the same amount of food a table of 5 would have gotten. We had to order extra dessert as a table of 7 only received 2. Service was excellent and pace of courses was good.
I realize our last experience was Thanksgiving day, but I think the restaurant should have been better staffed. Our server was not as good as we are accustomed to. The noise level was high but I doubt that could be controlled. Our table did not have the salt, pepper, cheese, etc. that always is on the table, and our server did not notice it. We had to get another server to bring us one.
Our food order arrived missing some items we ordered.
We love this restaurant and we will go back but not on a holiday.
We had a wonderful server in Jasmine at Maggiano's. There was plenty of great food (we got a second meal out of it on Saturday). It was an excellent Thanksgiving and we got seated promptly, thanks to our reservations we did not have to wait around to be seated. The place was packed and there were plenty of people taking home leftovers (as we did).
We have dined at many locations of Maggianos for years. Specifically we have come for Thanksgiving at least three years. We didn’t think our food this year was as good as in the past. For the ham selection we were served the butt end of the ham and several slices were tough & not edible. Additionally the corn was bland & nothing special however our waitress forgot to include it in our take home bag.
Overall we were disappointed so maybe Thanksgiving is not your best meal.
Been here several times. First time for a Thanksgiving Meal. Had reservations for 4 people and 1 came 30 minutes late and had already eaten so just came to visit. Was charge full value, and then we did not get one of our sides. Overall good experience, but felt like we got short changed on this visit, and overcharged about $50.00 for the person who did not eat. good service as usual.
We went for family dinner (24 of us) the Wednesday before thanksgiving. They sat us immediately (we obviously had reservations) and we were served by two outstanding wait people (Rob and a nice young lady whose name we didn’t get). There were two requirements we had for our group; separate checks (8 parties) and to be able to order off menu rather than family style. When I got a confirmation call from them the lady who called said these requirements were fine. However, when we called the day of to make sure everything was a go the guy (didn’t get his name) was a complete jerk. He tells us that we have to do family style and can’t do separate checks and how much were putting the restaurant out. He was such a rude jerk we hung up on him and had I had more time we would have cancelled. We went anyway and apparently whoever this jerk was, wasn’t there. When we arrived the lady who sat us confirmed that separate checks and menu ordering were fine. Rob the waiter made the evening stress free, fun and entertaining. My wife has a black pepper allergy and the staff went all out to accommodate her. We will be back thanks to these folks. If the restaurant manager has any idea who the jerk on the phone was, fire him immediately!
Great spot for dinner. Not too pricey as far as good Italian food goes, and the restaurant’s in a great location. We went on a Friday night and it was packed, but we had no issue making reservations day-of. Took awhile for the food to come our, but our server was awesome while we waited.
