Maggiano's - Austin Ratings and Reviews
Great spot for dinner. Not too pricey as far as good Italian food goes, and the restaurant’s in a great location. We went on a Friday night and it was packed, but we had no issue making reservations day-of. Took awhile for the food to come our, but our server was awesome while we waited.
Our experience was excellent overall. While we waited for our table, we had a cocktail in the bar. Stacey was very attentive and had our drink ready almost immediately- considering how busy they were, we were impressed.
Our dinner was excellent. Our server was equally attentive and knowledgeable. He made sure that every detail was handled. The quality of the food was great. Everything arrived hot and tasty. Considering we had a party of 8, that was also impressive.
Overall we were very pleased with our experience.
Wonderful restaurant! Very loud, but fun. The food was absolutely wonderful, and the service was adequate. The restaurant was very busy, and that made it difficult for our waitress to get to us sometimes. Overall a wonderful place to eat some local Italian!
Had a reservation for a certain time, because previous guests were taking so long to leave their tables we were delayed in being sat by about 30 minutes. Manager Nathan was wonderful in making up for that wait time, handled everything great, and we enjoyed our server as well. Technically had two servers but our male server was a bit more conversational with us, telling us all about his band he's in part time, etc. but mainly just making sure we enjoyed our evening. Great night for the whole party, glad we chose Maggiano's.
have to say that I was greatly disappointed with Maggiano’s on the evening of November 11, 2017.
Number 1: One fork and one small dish were not cleaned. Both had visible food debris. The person who handled the “clean” dishes, the person who set the table, and/or the waitress all could have prevented this.
Number 2: In the past Maggiano’s used to offer black napkins if the customer wore black slacks and a black/dark dress. A white napkin will “shed”. We had to ask twice for black napkins.
Number 3: Maggiano’s used to prepare the oil and pepper in the dish when the bread was served prior to the meal. Not absolutely necessary but a nice touch...makes the customer feel like he/she is special.
Number 4: My food was not hot. The dish was warm, but it was obvious that the food had been waiting and then transferred to the warm plate.
Number 5: We had finished eating and waited and waited for the bill.
It was not an evening that I will recommend to my friends or business associates.
Everyone's food looked good except mine. I had the Italian salad, entree size. It was just iceberg lettuce with a few olives and some peppers and a fancy price. It was a little hard to hear the conversation across the table, but we all had a good time. The service was good.
Food was delicious and a variety of choices. Nice atmosphere. Even though it was a Sunday evening and slightly crowded, the noise level was low and you could have your own conversation. Our server was friendly and attentive. A nice restaurant for any occasion.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant. I have been to Italy four times, and this food actually compares (really). Maggionos has not only the best food but the take-home meal makes it very frugal. The salad, the meal and, wow, that chocolate cake. This never disappoints, and even the service is incomparable. This will always be my top date night spot.
Unfortunately, we will not go back to this restaurant. It started with being sat at a table with dirty glassware and next to the kitchen which smelled horrible, like a sour mop was used. We were very disappointed with the food. My husband had veal Parmesan which was over cooked, tough, tasted like they used old grease, and did not even come out hot. I had Salmon Oscar which came out cold, and the salmon was slimy. The server was ok but everything took a long time: time to be greeted, to get drinks and food, and we finally had to ask for bread. This seems to be the new norm for this store. The last few visits, we have noticed changes in the food quality and service. At $125 for 3 people, I expect better food and service.
I've been many times here. This visit I made the mistake of trying their Prime Ribeye. The Ribeye, $38, was very thin, and tasted like the grill needed to be cleaned; bitter and burnt, but ordered rare. I did not comment to the waiter because I was with my daughter and some friends and did not want to cause a scene. Our waiter, Patrick, was not a good listener; he already knew what the answer to our questions were before we asked them. This made for unnecessary additional frustrating conversation. Our experiences here are usually very good, hence the reason we chose this restaurant to spend $150.00. This visit, however, definitely put some question in my mind as to whether we need to wait awhile for things to shake out before we go again.
Saturday, both my wife and I ordered from the Chicken menu. It was so bad that neither of us finished the meat or meal. My meat was cold, soggy and oily and hers was tough in an unappealing sauce. Based on this experience we would not recommend eating there. We have considered Maggiano's one of our desired high end restaurants, but not any more.
We went on a Saturday night with group of 5. It a little convincing to get a table that met our needs but once seated the service was great. The traditional Italian food was outstanding and reasonably priced. The buy one take one home pasta dish policy made it a great value.
My wife and I love Maggianos! They have abundant quantities of delicious Italian food. Who wouldn’t love that?!
When you go, make sure you order a Marco’s Special (or something similar to that can’t remember the exact name). When you order one of these combos, you get another delicious entree to take home. Good times!!
Did not live up to previous experiences. Disappointed to say the least. Did not get all our entrees. Took 10 minutes to even inform anyone as no one swung by to check on us. They were nice enough to wrap it up togo for us but we wanted to all eat together. We noticed immediately and tried to tell the person who delivered the food but he left instantly! Never again.
One word, Fantastic, describes our experience at Maggiano's Little Italy, at the Domain in Austin. Our server, Patrick, knew the menu and answered all questions. He told us of the specials and made recommendations. Our drinks never ran out and we were asked if we needed anything several time, it was like we were Patrick's only table, although he had several others at the same time.
We thoroughly enjoy the Classic Pasta, but we have never been disappointed with anything we ordered. Portions are large and usually not finished and taken home. Sunday Brunch is great also.
If you are any where near Austin and are hungry, Maggiano's will take care or you.
