Maggiano's - Austin Ratings and Reviews
We loved our experience here. Great Customer service. The food is amazing, I highly recommend the Chicken and Spinach Manicotti, Stuffed Mushrooms, and Mushroom Ravioli. These were just heavenly. The complimentary French bread with Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar was addicting. We will definitely be back.
There were 13 of us for dinner to celebrate a birthday. Food was delicious and the restaurant is always so nice. Our server did not miss a beat. Her name was Anna and we cannot brag on her enough. Everyone of us went on and on about what a wonderful dinner we had and it was a great place to celebrate
We ordered that beef medallions. The beef and sauce was warm and tasted very good but the mashed potatoes were cold. When my wife complained to our waiter and asked for hot potatoes, we were told that he could not fix it without a manager coming to the table. By the time the manager finally came to the table we were about 3/ 4 completed with our meal so my wife got hotter potatoes too late to really enjoy them. We have enjoyed this restaurant in the past, but they really dropped the ball on Valentines Day. Our waiter was slow compared to past experiences and the waiting for the manager to approve a serving of hot potatoes is ridiculous.
My family and I love Maggianos and go there several times a year. This time, the food came out from the kitchen wrong. Two people got their diners about 10 minutes in advance of the other five people. The waitress and manager immediately responded and didn't charge us for two of the meals. They handled the situation very professionally.
The food was very good and they worked with us to provide good food with some diet restrictions as they always do. Overall, very good dining experience.
Maggiano's has always been a nice more upscale Italian place that my wife and I have enjoyed the number of time that we have dine there. We recently had dinner here to celebrate Valentine's Day and they did not disappoint. The waitress we had was very friendly and attentive. I enjoyed the food we got the the Risotto Pepperoni bites were delicious as well as the entrees and the Tiramisu which can be sold out. Overall, nice dining experience if you 're looking for a night out to treat yourself.
Our service was good, but very slow. We arrived at 12 and left at 2:30. My husband had to return to work and left early. Not sure, if this is the average time for lunch or an exception. I had the pasta with braised beef. The beef was in huge chucks, the sauce was not very good. The bread crumbs were thrown on into one spot. This is the first time, I was not happy with a meal. Our server did not return to check on us. The rest of my family ordered lasagna, spaghetti and ravioli. They were all very happy. Will definitely return without ordering the Braise beef with pasta.
Someone other than the server took our initial drink order (an assistant manager I think) and said he was going to be helping the server. We never saw him again after that.
The server was unfailingly polite, but totally incompetent.
The server left drinks empty for long periods after multiple requests for refills. (This happened more than once during the meal)
We could not get any other servers to make eye contact and ask for water when we were all out.
The server mumbled when asking questions or confirming the order so it was very hard to know if he understood.
The runner who dropped the food left without asking if we needed anything.
The server didn't check on us for several minutes after the food was delivered.
The quality of the food was sub-par for what we expect from Maggiano's.
The sauce on the Rigatoni D was watery and flavorless.
The presentation of the mushroom ravioli was sloppy. Raviolis were on top of each other, stuck together and with no sauce on the bottom ones.
Overall it was a very disappointing experience. While we have dined at and enjoyed Maggiano's in the past it will take a long time to forget this visit and give it another try.
Had a first date here, I’ve been to the Houston location on Westhimer many times but this was her first experience and she absolutely loved it so your company made a first date fantastic I will be coming back for sure and telling all of my friends and family to dine at your establishment!
The hostess was very accommodating. The waiter was friendly but seemed unaccustomed to serving a large table. He forgot orders was gone for extended periods of time and our table did not get a bread basket. He did the checks wrong and when he brought out the special plate for my friend it said congratulations instead of happy birthday. Would have received a higher rating if the server was more competent.
Went on a Saturday night and the kitchen was very slow and the dessert dish and spoons brought to our table were dirty. The plate under the dessert bowl was greasy and dirty and the spoons as well. We were gluten free because my daughter has Celiac, so a dirty dessert plate means gluten cross contamination is a big way! Too bad really because a previous time we went in December on a slow weekday lunch, it was a wonderful visit. So much so we felt like royalty, but not this time! what a difference!
This place does not immediately comply with FDA laws regarding the content of its food. Eventually the hostess provided related information, but our waitress was definitely condescending, unhelpful, and dismissive. She made me uncomfortable. Additionally, this restaurant canceled our reservations about 7 hours after we left. The food was better this time (we’ve been here twice). However, the fact that we spent over $60 on lunch for only two people from a shady restaurant that can’t even operate Open Table means we won’t be going again.
