Located one mile from downtown Healdsburg, this Michelin one star restaurant is on a Victorian estate at the heart of Sonoma’s wine country. Chef Jesse Mallgren takes full advantage of a wealth of local seasonal produce, whenever possible from our estate gardens. Choose the from an extensive a'la carte menu or the Chef's tasting menu.
Beautiful setting, delicious food, attentive service.
Tasting menu with wine pairings was outstanding. Service was excellent too.
We went for the Wednesday night fried chicken dinner and everything exceeded our expectations. The service was exceptional and the food sublime. If you have ever wanted to experience dinner at Madrona Manor this is a great way to do it.
A superior experience! Such a nice hotel and restaurant! We loved the duck!
We have eaten here before and have never been disappointed with either the food or the service. We have always done the chef’s menu with wine pairings. The staff is usually very knowledgeable and helpful and we feel like royalty with all the extras that are included.
Service is superb, atmosphere is quiet and romantic. Food is excellent, a little pricey, but offering gourmet items and very delicious.
We've had dinner here on at least 2 occasions. Incredibly disappointed this time with our anniversary dinner. The menu was quite limited including the tasting menu. What we ordered (Northern Halibut and duck) for our entrees was uninspired and tasteless. Best item was the oyster appetizer. Will never go back.
Excellent food. Fantastic setting. Tasting menu is a must and is great value.
Funky and unappetizing decor. Good food, nice wine parings, and decent service, but it certainly wasn’t a Michelin star experience in my view. Perhaps half a star? With so many options in Sonoma, we won’t likely return soon.
Had perhaps the best meal I've ever had in a restaurant. The menu was imaginative, the food perfectly prepared and presented. You simply cannot do any better than Madrona Manor.
Beautiful veranda setting for our dinner. Quiet and good service. We went for the Wednesday night fried chicken special and all in our party enjoyed it. Want to go back at Christmas since we hear from friends that it is gorgeously decorated.
I was looking forward to this as it looked like the kind experience restaurants use to be. A stately old house ,small dining areas, a subdued atmosphere. Frankly, it had all of that but it just did add up to a great experience. We did the tasting menu and while some dishes were very good, none were really fantastic. The service was very efficient but so subdued it can across as impersonal and forced. It didn't seem like anyone was having any fun, the employees or the customers. The house and grounds were beautiful and the food was good but non of it added up to value for the cosr.
Wow! This place is AMAZING! The food, the wine, the service and the beautiful property made this a memorable experience for my boyfriend and I. One of my favorite things was watching the chef or (food prep guy) go into the herb garden out back to pick the herbs for the food. We showed up a bit early so we walked around the herb garden and picked a few things to taste. I am a big fan of arugula which I was able to taste in the herb garden. This place is a historical gem. It is a bit on the pricey side but totally worth it. I recommend that you do not go wine tasting before eating here and just get the wine tasting option here. They are heavy handed with their pours( which is a good thing). So, if you went to a bunch of different wineries before stopping here, you might not be able to drive home ;). Keep this in mind. I am so impressed and will come back.
Wonderful time! Great staff and food! Beautiful place!
This restaurant is amazing! Both the food and service were wonderful. It was one of our highlights when visiting Healdsburg this week. You will love it.
Not sure how this place earned it's Michelin star. While there were courses that were outstanding, others were a complete miss. Leaden gnocchi was the worst of all. Add to that horrible service (one hour to get our first course) and the experience was a severe disappointment.
Based on the other reviews, I wonder if they were just off the night we visited. It happens, but not at any Michelin restaurant I have visited.
We were staying at The Manor, and had our official anniversary dinner in the restaurant. Nothing about the experience disappointed. The food and service were perfect. The staff was considerate, extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine pairings, and made the evening a lovely celebration. The onion veloute and "smoked" egg are layered delights and will make you think differently going forward about sabayon and onion soup. My ricotta gnocchi were little works of art. Husband's duck truly delicious. And by all means take the suggestion from your waiter for the dessert. There is divine whimsy awaiting you.
My daughter’s birthday. Everything was perfect. Thank you!
Birthday dinner for my daughter. Food was delicious and staff were warm and friendly.
Stayed here for a long weekend and it was great. The restaurant is fabulous. Did the tasting course with the wine pairing and it was spot on. Tempo, food quality, wine was excellent. The venue is laid back, nicely done and is a great casual or special occasion spot. Highly recommended. Spent a few minutes with the chef who has been with the property for many years. Talented for sure. Will come back!!
Madrona Manor is a wonderful. The food is excellent, of course, and the location beautiful. It is a relaxing place with excellent service and presentation. We recommend the tasting menu for a memorable experience. Also, take time to walk the grounds of the Manor. It is an historical treasure with splendid views.
A relatively small menu, but the execution was excellent and the choices were more than adequate. All dishes we had were well prepared and the provenance was as good as it gets, I think. All in all a great place to dine just outside of Healdsburg.
Service was wonderful, food was delicious- overall a great dining experience- highly recommended!
Had the fried chicken; it was good but the whole plater was lacking, no vegetables, no color, but tasty.
A lovely wine country retreat. This was our first time. We've recently moved to Healdsburg. We were celebrating a family birthday. The Manor is a beautiful bed and breakfast. We were warmly greeted when we arrived. The service was impeccable, food delicious.
An absolutely divine dining experience. The property is beautiful. The interior is elegant without pretension. The staff are friendly and available without interrupting your meal. And best of all, the food is superb.
Lovely dinner for a special night. I celebrated my birthday and it was fabulous.
Every aspect of our dinner with friends at the Manor was splendid...the food, service, friendliness, presentation...all of it was sublime.
My daughter and I had a wonderful experience at the MM. we didn’t expect the server to be in a suit; that was new! The menu was exciting, and we were happy with our orders. However, the rolls and the desserts were show stoppers. My daughter is a teenager, and we went through 12 rolls! It’s a bit odd how attentive the staff is. We liked all of them. It just seemed like the kind of service I once had at Charles Nobb Hill, which is to say extraordinary. We live in town, but if we didn’t, this would be the place we would choose to stay overnight. Lovely experience. Highly recommend.
A gem of a restaurant. One of the best meals in my more than four decades.
Nice for a special occasion dinner. Romantic. Great food. If staying here, nice breakfast buffet included.
Absolutely delicious! The staff was accommodating, even when we showed up early! We will definitely go back.
Food was fabulous but you need to get past the decor.
Terrific value , except for the $35 per bottle corkage. How about waiving one bottle if you buy one bottle.
Overall a great value top quality food and service. Can’t wait for next visit
Very slow service. Great venue. Asked literally 4-5 times for bread etc and it took sometimes 10 minutes to get someone’s attention. We were there for about 2 1/2 hours for our meal. Would like to return when it isn’t a bustling holiday dinner event.
Place is very classic, stately and lovely. Service was fantastic, warm, welcoming and precise. Great service staff. Menu was just average. For the price, you can do much better. Here you are paying for the location & service, which are great. Sadly, food felt dated and lacked inspiration. None of the dishes were bad, but much better versions can be found most anywhere.
The food was excellent; however, we sat at our table over a half an hour before anyone came and took our drink order. It was at least another half hour until they brought us a roll. Then maybe another 45 minutes until they brought the appetizer. Then we sat there waiting and they brought the second course in about 15 minutes. We waited at least another 45 minutes or more before they brought the entree. It seemed as though they weren’t prepared the amount of reservations they had. It was Christmas Eve and it was the Dickens dinner. The seating was at 6:30, but the carolers didn’t start coming around until around 8pm. They came in our room 3 times and did a beautiful job. This is the second time we have done this dinner and the first time the food wasn’t that great. But because of it being Christmas Eve and they had the Dickens carolers, we decided to try it again. Well, the first time shame on them - the second time, shame on us. I think this is it for us, unfortunately, because Madrona Manor is a beautiful property.
Best ever, made an Anniversary celebrated at Christmas time special.
The annual Dickens Dinner is a delightful experience. Festive atmosphere, fabulous food, well-paired wines, and the Twelfth Night singers are excellent. Took our teenagers this year and they loved it. Will do again!
