Located one mile from downtown Healdsburg, this Michelin one star restaurant is on a Victorian estate at the heart of Sonoma’s wine country. Chef Jesse Mallgren takes full advantage of a wealth of local seasonal produce, whenever possible from our estate gardens. Choose the from an extensive a'la carte menu or the Chef's tasting menu.
Amazing food! Every single bite was an experience. The flavors were so simple but the way they were presented was so complex! It was one of the best meals we have ever had.
Wonderful experience. The food is very good and the wait staff and setting are perfect. Casually elegant without being stuffy or overpriced.
Food was great. Found it odd that no one ever asked what we thought of the meal or any dish after it was served.
We had the tasting menu with the wine pairings, it was fantastic. The food is amazing, the service was phenomenal! The Onion Veloute , Caviar and Wagyu beef were outstanding Would definitely go back!
Everything was perfect for our anniversary the chefs choices were creative and most enjoyable
Curious about the locals Fried Chicken on Wednesday. My martini, the green salad and the chicken was fabulous. I will definitely return to explore more of the food!
The atmosphere here is great. I ordered the gnocchi and it was too salty and doughy. Their truffle Manhattan had too much truffle which made the cocktail very unbalanced. I was disappointed in the stuffed squash blossom, it was pasty. The nectarine dessert had too much gelatin and the nectarine was not ripe. The service was excellent and the atmosphere is out of this world but the food was uninspired. We will try it again and have their Wed. fried chicken special. I hope this was just a fluke.
An outstanding restaurant for that very special dinner. My wife said that she never had a better meal.
The wine pairing was superb. Eating on the deck surround by the gardens made for a perfect evening.
Such a wonderful time at Casa Madrona for our 45th anniversary. Our room was fantastic, our meal amazing, hanging by the pool so relaxing. We would highly recommend for a special occasion, a quick getaway or a beautiful place to stay while visiting the wine country.
We live local, this is our third visit. The water was not chilled, the service sucked. We waited 27 minutes for desert after the waiter brought the bill. The food was delicious! The chefs are pouring their heart and soul into this place, but the staff serving it isn't. The sommelier is legit and not a knucklehead, we like him. There is no way this place deserves a M star.
Absolutely try the tasting menu, ideally with the wine pairings. It was an exquisitely crafted meal, with wines I would never have chosen but enjoyed immensely, and the overall experience was relaxed, comfortable, and memorable.
We celebrated out wedding anniversary and it was lovely. Great for any special occasion with loved ones or close friends
Wow. Dinner was ok..basically 3 plates of noki and one of duck, 5 glasses of wine, salad,desert....nothing exceptional...almost $100 per.....avg meal...way overrated and over priced
Went for the fried chicken special for most of us and the waiter was clearly disappointed- we’re disappointed and changed the mood of our table
The wine steward was very nice and helpful so that helped some
Would like to come back sometime for the food and wine pairing as it looked really good - just don’t want the same waiter
Mardrona Manor was what we expected a one Michelin star restaurant to be like from the food (very good, but not "wow") to the service (impeccable). I particularly enjoyed my cocktail called "Strawberry Fields." The setting was the show stealer. It was an outdoor patio with trees and flowers all around, on a perfect early July evening, very romantic.
Honestly one of the best restaurants I’ve ever experienced. Food was amazing!
This was the perfect restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant is very refined and classy. We had the tasting menu and the food was very delicious. It was done at a great pace and the courses all complemented each other. The wine pairing that we had with the tasting menu also elevated each course so definitely would say it was a great job done by the sommelier. The service was very attentive and made us feel that we were the only guests within the restaurant since there was so much focus given to us. This restaurant is exquisite and I will recommend it to anyone that is looking for a special dining experience.
Beautiful venue, up in the hills above Healdsburg in the Russian River. Very romantic setting. Outstanding service. Price was a little steep and the The food choices eclectic. Halibut was excellent but some of the other dishes not as good. Corkage a little high and the wine list should include many more Russian River and Drycreek offerings. my wife didn’t like the duck because lack of crispy skin.
We had been given a gift card from a friend. Madrona staff is always so professional and Jesse’s food is exceptional as always.
My wife and I went to celebrate our honeymoon. The dining room is tiny. Intimate. We could hear everyone’s conversation and our table was squeezed into the corner.
The food was awesome. Wine pairing with the tasting menu were well done. Overall I think it’s a sweet spot but nothing was incredible or remarkable.
Well, should have ordered something different. The wagu beef was incredibly fatty. I’ve always had great food here and am sorry they missed the mark. My husband ‘s was very lean and he enjoyed his, but this type of restaurant should guarantee high quality consistency every time. The service as usual was spectacular.
My meal started out really lovely. I inquired how long a tasting menu might take and perhaps this was interpreted as me being in a hurry as I go through my displeasure of Madrona Manor in retrospect.
The early spring tasting menu began with the smoked egg, the presentation and taste were at its highest level. This was followed by the Hokkaido scallop crudo then the onion velouté - both were incredible. The ricotta Gnocchi was wonderful but contained a lot of fat and when the liberty duck came out my stomach turned with the first bite. I can only conclude that perhaps the courses were served to closely to each other and this is a critical misstep. I was seated at 6 and paid and left the property at 7pm. Huge disappointment.
Spectacular food. Superior service. We had the tasting menu, which was imaginative and delicious. They mad allowance for my wife’s dietary restrictions in a very gracious way. Great wine pairings too.
Beautiful setting, delicious food, attentive service.
Tasting menu with wine pairings was outstanding. Service was excellent too.
We went for the Wednesday night fried chicken dinner and everything exceeded our expectations. The service was exceptional and the food sublime. If you have ever wanted to experience dinner at Madrona Manor this is a great way to do it.
A superior experience! Such a nice hotel and restaurant! We loved the duck!
We have eaten here before and have never been disappointed with either the food or the service. We have always done the chef’s menu with wine pairings. The staff is usually very knowledgeable and helpful and we feel like royalty with all the extras that are included.
Service is superb, atmosphere is quiet and romantic. Food is excellent, a little pricey, but offering gourmet items and very delicious.
We've had dinner here on at least 2 occasions. Incredibly disappointed this time with our anniversary dinner. The menu was quite limited including the tasting menu. What we ordered (Northern Halibut and duck) for our entrees was uninspired and tasteless. Best item was the oyster appetizer. Will never go back.
Excellent food. Fantastic setting. Tasting menu is a must and is great value.
Funky and unappetizing decor. Good food, nice wine parings, and decent service, but it certainly wasn’t a Michelin star experience in my view. Perhaps half a star? With so many options in Sonoma, we won’t likely return soon.
Had perhaps the best meal I've ever had in a restaurant. The menu was imaginative, the food perfectly prepared and presented. You simply cannot do any better than Madrona Manor.
Beautiful veranda setting for our dinner. Quiet and good service. We went for the Wednesday night fried chicken special and all in our party enjoyed it. Want to go back at Christmas since we hear from friends that it is gorgeously decorated.
I was looking forward to this as it looked like the kind experience restaurants use to be. A stately old house ,small dining areas, a subdued atmosphere. Frankly, it had all of that but it just did add up to a great experience. We did the tasting menu and while some dishes were very good, none were really fantastic. The service was very efficient but so subdued it can across as impersonal and forced. It didn't seem like anyone was having any fun, the employees or the customers. The house and grounds were beautiful and the food was good but non of it added up to value for the cosr.
Wow! This place is AMAZING! The food, the wine, the service and the beautiful property made this a memorable experience for my boyfriend and I. One of my favorite things was watching the chef or (food prep guy) go into the herb garden out back to pick the herbs for the food. We showed up a bit early so we walked around the herb garden and picked a few things to taste. I am a big fan of arugula which I was able to taste in the herb garden. This place is a historical gem. It is a bit on the pricey side but totally worth it. I recommend that you do not go wine tasting before eating here and just get the wine tasting option here. They are heavy handed with their pours( which is a good thing). So, if you went to a bunch of different wineries before stopping here, you might not be able to drive home ;). Keep this in mind. I am so impressed and will come back.
Wonderful time! Great staff and food! Beautiful place!
This restaurant is amazing! Both the food and service were wonderful. It was one of our highlights when visiting Healdsburg this week. You will love it.
Not sure how this place earned it's Michelin star. While there were courses that were outstanding, others were a complete miss. Leaden gnocchi was the worst of all. Add to that horrible service (one hour to get our first course) and the experience was a severe disappointment.
Based on the other reviews, I wonder if they were just off the night we visited. It happens, but not at any Michelin restaurant I have visited.
We were staying at The Manor, and had our official anniversary dinner in the restaurant. Nothing about the experience disappointed. The food and service were perfect. The staff was considerate, extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine pairings, and made the evening a lovely celebration. The onion veloute and "smoked" egg are layered delights and will make you think differently going forward about sabayon and onion soup. My ricotta gnocchi were little works of art. Husband's duck truly delicious. And by all means take the suggestion from your waiter for the dessert. There is divine whimsy awaiting you.
