Located one mile from downtown Healdsburg, this Michelin one star restaurant is on a Victorian estate at the heart of Sonoma’s wine country. Chef Jesse Mallgren takes full advantage of a wealth of local seasonal produce, whenever possible from our estate gardens. Choose the from an extensive a'la carte menu or the Chef's tasting menu.
A gem of a restaurant. One of the best meals in my more than four decades.
Nice for a special occasion dinner. Romantic. Great food. If staying here, nice breakfast buffet included.
Absolutely delicious! The staff was accommodating, even when we showed up early! We will definitely go back.
Food was fabulous but you need to get past the decor.
Terrific value , except for the $35 per bottle corkage. How about waiving one bottle if you buy one bottle.
Overall a great value top quality food and service. Can’t wait for next visit
Very slow service. Great venue. Asked literally 4-5 times for bread etc and it took sometimes 10 minutes to get someone’s attention. We were there for about 2 1/2 hours for our meal. Would like to return when it isn’t a bustling holiday dinner event.
Place is very classic, stately and lovely. Service was fantastic, warm, welcoming and precise. Great service staff. Menu was just average. For the price, you can do much better. Here you are paying for the location & service, which are great. Sadly, food felt dated and lacked inspiration. None of the dishes were bad, but much better versions can be found most anywhere.
The food was excellent; however, we sat at our table over a half an hour before anyone came and took our drink order. It was at least another half hour until they brought us a roll. Then maybe another 45 minutes until they brought the appetizer. Then we sat there waiting and they brought the second course in about 15 minutes. We waited at least another 45 minutes or more before they brought the entree. It seemed as though they weren’t prepared the amount of reservations they had. It was Christmas Eve and it was the Dickens dinner. The seating was at 6:30, but the carolers didn’t start coming around until around 8pm. They came in our room 3 times and did a beautiful job. This is the second time we have done this dinner and the first time the food wasn’t that great. But because of it being Christmas Eve and they had the Dickens carolers, we decided to try it again. Well, the first time shame on them - the second time, shame on us. I think this is it for us, unfortunately, because Madrona Manor is a beautiful property.
Best ever, made an Anniversary celebrated at Christmas time special.
The annual Dickens Dinner is a delightful experience. Festive atmosphere, fabulous food, well-paired wines, and the Twelfth Night singers are excellent. Took our teenagers this year and they loved it. Will do again!
This was our first visit and unbeknown to us, this was also the first night of their annual Dickens Dinner Series. The food was amazing as well as the perfect wine pairings. The service was good, the atmosphere was Christmas times 100 and the 12th Night Singers brought the holiday home. It was an amazing turn of events and we couldn't have been more pleased by this wonderful surprise holiday celebration.
Always an excellent experience.
Four of the courses on the Thanksgiving Menu were overly salty: the soup, the risotto, and both the light and dark turkey. And just to be clear if you might consider a commercial product like Campbell Soup to be somewhat salty the crab soup was more so, as was the risotto. Moreover, the effects of this persisted through the next morning. We did not think it likely this could have been changed if we sent the courses back since i seemed likely that the salt was already added before final preparation for the first two items and the last two may have been marinated. This is quite unexpected for a restaurant at this price level.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving dinner with Madrona Manor. The food was lovely and the staff was helpful and attentive. We were unhappily surprised with a flat tire on the way to dinner, but when we called to let them know that we would not make it to keep the reservation, Brandy would a cancelled spot and was ble to fit us in a bit later. What a lovely ending to a cold rainy day (not complaining about the rain, we need it badly)!
Great special occasion spot!
Went for Thanksgiving dinner, delicious and creative food. I brought a bottle of my FAV Pinot Noir and our server never pour once. He did bring a glass of sparkling that we ordered to start, but he never came back to pour our wine once, not good for a One Star Michelin restaurant, bit odd. I will give it another try in a near future.
This is the second time I’ve eaten here and it was way better than the first time! Ordered off the dinner menu and brought our own wine. That’s the way to go. Food was great and service as always was superb.
Food was excellent but venue is old without any particular charm. A couple aggressive moves on the bill (which we did get sorted out) left me wishing we went somewhere else.
The food was absolutely fantastic. However, the restaurant is incredibly creepy. It looks and feels like the type of place you would get murdered in when in a horror film.
We ended up listening to rocky horror picture show on the way home, as it reminded of "light in the Frankenstein place"
It was a great dining experience at Madrona Manor. The food on the tasting menu was interesting and delicious. The wine pairings were very good, too. The service was excellent. It was a memorable dining experience!
Wonderful hotel, beautiful setting. The food was fantastic. My wife and I had the halibut which was cooked to perfection.
Hands down The Best Meal Ive Eaten In sonoma County, from the Service, to the Food Presentation, to the Ambiance. Everything Was Perfect. I Think The Only Comparable Meal We have eaten in the United States would Be The Commanders Palace In New Orleans. My Wife and I are Big Foodies, and the Madonna Manor Blew Us Away. we had been to dinner At the Manor before for the Fried chicken dinner, which was great, but the regular service menu was just mind blowing.
Wonderful as always. It’s our go to special place. My only complaint is we don’t live closer
We were seated on the patio and first enjoyed our cocktails ~ one of best Lemon Drops I have had. Our server was most helpful and made sure my food was gluten free.
For appetizers, I enjoyed a Fresh Tomato Salad and my HH had the Onion Veloute ~ both of which were delicious. We both choose the Liberty Farm Duck entrée ~ which was done perfectly. The sommelier helped us pick out a lovely Syrah to enjoy with our duck.
We were very excited to eat here. The ambiance and service were superb. The tasting menu and wine pairing were not! I would recommend ordering a meal and choosing the wine. For $1000 (yes) for a party of four, I left hungry. I will go again but with a different dinner plan.
The food and wine pairing was wonderful, we enjoyed the night very much.
The view and layout of the restaurant was very nice; however, I think the menu left something to be desired and compared to other 1-Michelin Star restaurants, it was not up to par.
Beautiful house and grounds. Excellent food choices and an attentive staff.
Amazing. Terrific food, service and stm
Fantastic restaurant, amazing foods. Will come back every time we’re in town!
The Smoked Egg - Delicious but fleeting
Onion Veloute - Outstanding
Local Halibut - Outstanding
Japanese Wagyu - Toughest piece of Wagyu ever, my wife had uncontrollable laughter with my facial expressions as I tried to chew what is to be one of the most tender and favorable cuts of meat on the planet
Desert - Did not try , could not leave quick enough due to table location
Table Location - Worst ever - near railing on outdoor patio, air conditioner unit cycled continuously with no let up. Impacted numerous tables. Suggestion to owners - relocate A/C unit.
The Larry David moment of the meal came when I was accosted by three flies for a good part of 30 minutes until I killed two by grabbing them mid air and smashing them. The third landed directly between my eye balls, which sent my wife into uncontrollable laughing. It then dived into my bowl and started sucking at the delicious soup at which time I expertly dispatched it by submersing with a slap of my spoon. I scooped it out, put it on my bread plate, said some kind words about the fly dying an honorable death, and continued eating one of the best soups ever.
In the end we had one of the most laughter filled meals ever in our 33 years of marriage. Thank you Madrona Manor, we couldn't have done it without all your flaws.
Still as good as it has been for some years. Dinner outside on the balcony was lovely and the items on the al carte menu delicious.
Accogliente atmosfera, luogo molto bello, terrazza gradevole sul giardino. Servizio ottimo ma il cibo non all’altezza. Troppo costoso per il livello delle pietanze molto scadente.
This is the second time I have been to Madrona Manor and they fire on all cylinders. Got the tasting menu w/ wine pairing, all was actually perfect. Some very creative dishes that were expertly executed and presented. Setting, service & food were simply outstanding. Pescaterian dining partner was graciously accommodated in tasting menu substitutions. Looking forward to the next visit

From the service and amazing food with wine pairings to the ambiance - it’s worth each and every penny!
We will be back. The food, the service, the setting...all were exemplary. I had the wagya and my husband had the halibut. Both superb. The squash blossom appetizer was excellent.
The setting, hospitality, wine, cuisine and cost all exceeded our expectations. We overlooked a beautiful garden, had amazing food and fairly priced high-end wines. The service was attentive and respectful of us as older diners. We'll be back, for sure!
Tasting menu with a wine pairing for our Honeymoon and everything was executed exceptionally well. Couldn’t have asked for a better evening.
Menu was very limited and pricey for what you got. Drinks were stingy and pricey.
