Recently awarded the AAA Four-Diamond Award, Madison’s Restaurant and Wine Garden at the Old Edwards Inn and Spa helps define the dining scene in downtown Highlands. The talented culinary team hand crafts each dish with farm-to-table, sustainable ingredients to bring out the most abundant flavors nature has to offer.
A Wine Spectator award-winning restaurant for the past five years with “Best of“ awards for the past two, Madison's wine list features an expansive selection from an extensive wine cellar. Madison’s sommelier—or “Wine Navigator” as he introduces himself—helps with selections. The Private Wine Cellar offers an intimate dining setting for up to 12 guests.

Madison's Ratings and Reviews
We were treated to a wonderful experience at Madison's last Friday. We were celebrating our friend's birthday and the staff could not have been more attentive and gracious and generous. By the way, the hanger steak entree was a real winner in our book. Very tender and flavorful!!
This was our 10th anniversary. However, we eat at Madison’s every time we are in Highlands’s. Our family has a home here. Madison’s is our favorite place to eat. It is beautiful and the staff remembers us every time we come in. It is genuinely an experience, no matter what the occasion. They always go over and above to make our dinner and five star experience. Brian and Philippe are an amazing combination. That being said we have always had an amazing experience. We can’t say enough good things about the staff and the exemplary food. The food is up there with our culinary experience in New York.
Went for brunch after church, having looked at the menu online and seeing eggs, but there was no such thing on the live menu. This was disappointing. Additionally, while my salad was delicious, my husband said his hamburger was below par. Service was erratic. We have had far better experiences in the past.
The food was still but no good enough to offset the the otherwise average experience. Reservations at 1 weren’t seated until 1:20. Service was very slow and inattentive. I suppose thats why the tables weren’t cleared in time for our and other reservations. The time between orders and the meals was too long. An order wasn’t placed and no real concern was expressed other than “oh I am sorry, our kitchen is really busy,”. A far cry from the near perfection of several years ago. The past several visits have been below expectations for a place with such a good, but fading, reputation. We probably wouldn’t go back.
We brought our own wine, but the restaurant was very accommodating. Every single person waiting on us was perfectly genuine and welocoming. The dinner could not have been any better. First time I had tried duck breast, in which not one morsel was left on my plate!!! We can not wait to come back.
Lovely restaurant. You can be sure if you are taking guests out they will be pleased with their dinner and the lovely hotel/restaurant. Madison’s is part of Old Edwards and is a landmark in Highlands. Definitely a must place to eat and stay while In Highlands. We thougherly enjoyed our evening out that night. Nice wine selection and a varied menu.
After all the hype about Old Edwards Inn we expected to be blown out of the water and dying to come back. Food was mediocre at best and I asked for sweet tea but got unsweet. Neither of my boys even finished their meals which is rare! My daughter and I were unimpressed and left more than half of our plates untouched... soup of the day was puréed as if this were a nursing home dining room and rather tasteless. Very disappointing.
