Lastly, at Madison's, when you walk through our door, we are going to treat you like family joining us for dinner.
We booked a table for two for Valentine’s Day this year. We had never been to Madison’s and thought we’d try something local. After looking through the menu online we decided it sounded like a good spot for us. Upon arrival we were told they didn’t have our reservation, and then they proceeded to sit us at the bar top as a last ditch effort. Myself nor my fiancé drink so we didn’t feel comfortable there and asked to move considering we could see about 10 open tables in the dining room area. They proceeded to sit us by the window where there was a huge draft so we had to keep our coats on the entire time. Our reservation was for 8:15 which we were 10 minutes early and by 9:30 we still hadn’t received our food. We ordered two Caesar salads and they came out fairly quickly, but our waitress took probably 20 minutes to come ask us if we were ready to order our food. Upon our inspection of the menu we realized that they had done a condensed menu for Valentine’s Day and inflated the prices greatly. We were extremely disappointed in this because we were not told that when we made a reservation and never given a heads up. Still, we went ahead and ordered the $40 steak they offered once we finally got the chance. After waiting 45 minutes of waiting on our steaks we finally called our server over and said we’d like to leave because the whole experience was awful. She then had the nerve to ask us if we wanted her to box up the steaks so we could take them home and warm them up. But we would still be paying for them of course. To that I said absolutely not, no one in their right mind warms up a steak and eats it. So we asked for the check for the two salads and finally left at 945 with no food after being there for 1.5 hours. I couldn’t believe how rude they were and how completely unwanted they made us feel. Will not be recommending to anyone I know or giving a second chance.
I was disappointed to read such an exaggerated and false account of your dining experience. You chose to sit by the window, with your coat off, while drinking your alcoholic beverage. Yes, I agree, you did wait 40 minutes for your ribeyes to come out of the kitchen. And I apologized for taking more time than expected after you told me, "I'm not paying for that." Again, I apologize our service was not quick enough. Please call if you would like to discuss any further details. Summer 765-808-6006
The food is delicious and the service is delightful. I enjoy experiencing the small town personality and the big city taste.
Thank you for the great review! We appreciate you taking the time let us know about your experience and your appreciation for our service and food. We hope to see you again soon! Summer, Dan & Staff
Absolutely amazing food that will have us back again!!
We are so happy to hear your food was amazing! Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your positive experience with us. We hope to see you again soon! Summer, Dan & Staff
We discovered Madison’s at this time last year when our son was in the Jazz Band competition at Pendleton HS.
When we realized that he would be performing on Valentine’s Day this year, we made a reservation right away.
Our server was new. We were only his second table of the night (ever?). Although he seemed a bit nervous, he did a wonderful job. He was very attentive. He was able to give recommendations and answer my questions.
My husband had the ribeye that was cooked medium rare to perfection.
I had the vegetable curry which was delicious.
We do not visit Pendleton often but we plan on visiting more often to dine at this wonderful establishment.
Always love Madison’s... but special occasions like Valentine’s Day , it’s even more special. Chef Dan had a special menu this year and our group loved it. The baked brie, beet salad, lobster bisque and Beef Wellington was my choice followed by an incredible chocolate torte.
John, Thank you for the wonderful review! We are so happy to hear you had an enjoyable dinner. It was our pleasure to serve you and your party. We hope to see you again soon! Summer, Dan & Staff
Food was good but Valentine Days menu was expensive.
Jasper, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a great review! I'm sorry to hear you thought our Valentine menu was expensive. I hope you enjoyed the food and your experience otherwise. We do hope to see you again soon. Summer, Dan & Staff
The food was absolutely incredible! The service was top notch! The ambiance was perfect! It’s a smaller, more quiet, quaint place and we absolutely loved our experience! Perfect for your next date night!
Oh my, what a wonderful review! We are so happy to hear you had such a delightful experience with us. Can't wait to see you again on date night! Summer, Dan & Staff
There are no words to describe my wonderful meal. Appetizer of bruschetta. Too incredible to describe. Entree of filet mignon with au gratin potatoes. I don't usually indulge in desert but I couldn't resist trying the ELVIS cannoli. So worth it! Madison's never disappoints. The staff is great. Chef Ian is amazing. Everything was prepared impeccably. Enjoyed a wonderful evening with friends and great food.
A total gem. I love places like this, locally owned and operated, which is difficult to find these days. This place is on par with Bonges and 10 West... for those that know.
Madison's is AMAZING. If you haven't been there and you're considering trying it, DO IT! You won't be disappointed. It's not as busy as you'd expect it to be given the quality of the food and the atmosphere, but I think that has to do with it being fine dining in a small town. It's totally worth the drive and if you're looking for something without an insane wait on a date night, this is the place!
Menu is somewhat limited. The au gratin potatoes were excellent. The filet and salmon respectively were not the highest quality. It was early New Years Eve and the restaurant was busy. They did not have adequate service for the number of patrons. We had to wait a considerable time for our drinks. And the bourbon we ordered listed on the drink menu was no longer available. The final disappointment arrived when the crème brulee was served with a fork.
Amazing! 5 star dining in Pendleton, IN! Who knew?! The owner is incredible. A true restaurant veteran with all the knowledge and talents it takes to make dining an experience.
I shouldn’t rate this restaurant because if too many people find out about it I’ll never be able to get a reservation. My wife had the meatloaf and said it was the best she’s ever had and that’s saying a lot from her. The meat and cheese board was great and Dan was super cool. We’ll be back for lunch to try the chicken & biscuit sandwich.
The specials are always great! Never disappointed!
Great food...modest atmosphere. The bar is beautiful and well stocked!
Steak filet was small. Suppose to be 6 ounces but looked more like 4 ounces. Good flavor
Pasta dish tasty
Nice bar, friendly staff
Dan served a great Thanksgiving dinner and was very hospitable
The service was excellent. The cuisine was fresh, delicious, and masterfully prepared. Loved the tomato bisque, sesame seed rolls, roasted vegetables and salmon.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Madison's a well-kept secret, equal to any of Indi9anapolis' fine dining spots.
Have been very disappointed since the change of name, menu, going to plastic table cloths, and the wine list. Guess Pendleton thought it was to up scaled. Sad.
We dined early 4:45 and were delighted with the great service and delicious food. Our waitress was very attentive to our needs, food was served promptly. I highly recommend giving Madison’s a try.
Top notch service and the food was absolutely delicious! Will be back!
Food was very good.
Ambiance kinda blah.
Service the absolute worst we have ever had.
No drink refills, pushy and rushed to take order, had to walk to bar to get the check.
Bartender took our payment.
When we walked out the waitress was sitting at a table chatting with another waitress.
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience. To be frank, I was shocked to read your review. We are known for providing excellent food AND service. I promptly figured out the server and we had a discussion. Please accept my sincerest apologies for your poor service. I do hope you will give us another chance to make everything right. Please do not hesitate to reach me via email or cell phone. Thank you, Summer summerhellis@gmail 765-808-6006
This has always been one of our favorite places. We haven't been in about six months, and their new menu is more varied, having more sandwiches rather than entrees. Service was very slow, we waited a long time for our meals. Wait staff was young and not the best. There were bugs that kept circling us. At the end of dinner the hosts came over and asked if we had eaten yet. Although they had updated some decor, we still ate from a vinyl tablecloth. It's not the fine dining place we had hoped for. I'm not sure we will be back.
modest furnishing, delicious well-prepared char-grilled salmon entree, a small array of wines and beer among other beverages to pick, a variety of reasonably priced food offerings, an affordable range of menu items to choose from casual delights to finer cuisine, delectable dessert with smooth coffee, pleasantly served
Service was slow... some of the food was undercooked.
Had a good experience. Nice and quite. We asked to sit on the patio and had the place to ourselves. Pork chops were great. Nice and thick and very juicy and tender. My husband recommends the salmon even though it was on the small side portion-wise. Nice beer selection. Not sure about the new menu, it doesn't seem to be the place to go for "that special night" any longer. Maybe its the bologna sandwich on the menu.
Always a great value
Great Food and a Great Dining experience
Thank you Chef Dan!
Excellent service and food!
The new expanded menu and decor at Madison’s is really great. It’s now Madison’s St8 Street Bistro and they offer more choices for those in my family that don’t appreciate Chef Dan Stackpoole’s artistry. There are a LOT of lower “Bistro” priced options. You need to go try the new menu. Thankful there are still some “Madison’s” specials like Beef Wellington, baked Brie and stuffed salmon were available when we were there. Chef Dan has updated comfort food items like chicken biscuits, pork tenderloin, wings, burgers and his pasta is ALWAYS incredible. Dan can make even the basic burger seem very special.
Thankful that we have such an incredible chef and restaurant in the area. I’m also excited that they are open for lunch and dinner now. We will be there even more often than before.
Very nice restaurant in downtown Pendleton. Service is attentive with smiles. We had the fettuccine alfredo with blackened chicken. The noodles were excellent quality! They make their own there. They have redone their menu and I look forward to trying more new dishes.
A nice place in Pendleton. Laid back, small, friendly with good food but definitely overpriced for what you get. It’s priced like a high end place but really is a notch or 2 below.
The food was pretty ok, it definitely wasn’t worth 212.00 for four adults and two children
Madison's, in the heart of Pendleton, IN.
The food was amazing.
The atmosphere was pleasant.
Hard to rate the service when you are literally the only customers.
The prices were above average, but the food was made to order and very high quality.
This was our first visit to Madison's and we were thoroughly delighted. We are recommending it to our friends.
Bake Brie won’t disappoint. Scallops, steak, duck, and steak Diane was wonderful. Good wine list. Chocolate mousse was a great way to end the whole dining experience.
Enjoyed the dinner and wait staff was friendly and collegial. Need to address “pace” of the dinner as it took quite awhile to get salads and bread.
The food was excellent and well-prepared, but the wait staff did not seem agreeable about accommodating elderly guests with hearing loss and canes at a smaller table for 4. I had to move the table and chairs to accommodate them myself. This was unfortunate as this was a 90-year birthday party.
Excellent food , vast selection of wine & Bourbon. Definitely worth a visit.
