Very nice. A little pricey but the service was excellent, as was the food. This is normally a quieter restaurant, so also very good for conversation.
We were celebrating our anniversary and decided to try the food tasting menu with wine pairings at Madison's Grill. It was chef's choice so we didn't know exactly what to expect, but red snapper appetizer, strip loin entre, and meringue with strawberries/whipped cream dessert were all delicious and the wines were perfect. Our server Todd was a true professional and looked after everything seamlessly. F&B Manager Kevin was very gracious and even brought out Chef David to meet us. I would recommend this local gem to anyone!
madison grill is splendid the room is wondeful you can actually have a conversation the service is at a very him level and the food is tops. it is often overlooked by the public
We have been to Madison Grill numerous times. Every time we have gone they have met our expectations and more.Great service, food, ambiance. it is our favorite restaurant in Edmonton.\
We were there for a quiet lunch. The food was superb, fish and chips and Caesar salad wrap. We had time to order and time to visit before the food was served as well as un-rushed time to visit after our lunch. The restaurant is clean and inviting. We had a table by a window and totally enjoyed our meal. The staff were most accommodating and friendly, but not gushy!
Truly excellent experience. Thank you. Will come again. Nancy
We were a last minute booking and Madison Grill did superb! The chef is creative and has a sense of whimsy which is reflected in the dessert menu. Panna cotta with sea salt caramel and popcorn infused whipped cream is delightful.
When I asked for the waiter if the chef could substitute beans due to a personal preference I was accommodated. The chef used lovely, green, crisp snap peas. The lamb was tender and moist, it fell off the bone.
Go for the chef's sampler. We had fish, duck and short cake. None of them were on the menu. All were superb!
My husband and I had a rare night out to celebrate our anniversary. We had the best meal we have both ever had. The food was second to none. I felt very special and taken care of. Excellent service. It was a beautiful intimate atmosphere. This is defiantly a hidden gem. We will be back. Special thank you to Clayton. You can tell he loves his job. He was pleasant, efficient and made me feel very pampered. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful evening out.
My wife and I went here for our 5th anniversary. Everything was perfect. I had amazing mushroom stuffed chicken wrapped with prosciutto and potatoes and veggies. My wife had the lamb shank. It was cooked perfectly, fell off the bone but still moist and full of flavour. Our waiter was very pleasant and we were well cared for without him being overbearing. We skipped dessert as we were to full from our dinners; however the waiter brought us a plate with chocolate covered cherries and well wishes written in chocolate. It was very nice and an excellent way to end our anniversary meal. We will definitely be back again!
All ways a great meal and great service. A great place to conduct business or simply have a quiet meal.
We have made Madison's our dining place of choice several times when in Edmonton. It was my husbands birthday this last time and the dinner was excellent from the duck he had to the lamb I loved. Great choice of wine. The presentation on the birthday cake was very nice just didn't match the anticipated taste:-(
Small portions for lunch. Pan-fried salmon overcooked and mushroom swiss burger was dry. Kitchen forgot to execute special dietary request. Server unfamiliar on menu items. Better lunch options elsewhere unless you prefer the upscale atmosphere.
My partner and I dined at Madison's Grill last weekend, and as usual, it didn't disappoint. It was a slow Friday night but the food was great. My partner had the rabbit and I had the lamb. We both felt we had the better dish, which is always a good sign. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient without being cloying or smothering. The atmosphere is calm and peaceful and professional. You simply cannot go wrong at Madison's Grill.
I have been to Madison's Grill a number of times given its close proximity to my office. In general, the food is good quality. This time the food was not up to their normal standard. I had the potato crusted fish and chips and I found the potatoes were not cook enough and had a bit of a raw taste. The fish was fine, as were the fries that accompanied the dish. I generally order this meal at lunch as it is relatively light, given it is fish and chips, but this time it was under whelming and not worth the cost.
Almost 8 years since my last visit and I’m delighted to say that neither the food nor the service disappointed.
The only negative is that they ran out of Grey Goose!
We’ll definitely be back.
The tasting menu with pairings was simply fantastic!
This was my first time going to Madison Grill. Our server was Kevin, the beverage and food manager. He was so personal, kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was excellent! They were able to accommodate my dietary needs of no dairy without batting an eye. Best brunch that I have had in awhile! The room is gorgeous as well : ).
We had an excellent dinner for our anniversary. The wait staff and the mood could not have been better and my Old Fashioned was perfect! My steak could have been a better cut and better cooked however my wife had a filet and it was fantastic. Overall a very nice evening and truly love the atmosphere for a quiet dinner.
I found the food to be lacking for the prices. The portion sizes were fine but minor details in the cooking of food goes a long way. Spices and texture.
Great service. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Easter brunch was very good!
Beautiful, waiters are beyond amazing. The food was so good and the ambience was great. It was a nice exquisite dining experience.
My wife & I often order different entrees to see whose is better. I ordered the Stuffed Chicken Forestiere, which was delicious. My wife won when she ordered the Guinness Braised Lamb Shank. It was spectacular!
Great service and recommendations by the staff. All in all, a very enjoyable experience.
We were a table of five, the food and service was great.
This is the third time I've been to Madison's for dinner and, as always, it was absolutely amazing! The service was great and the food was exceptional.
I went during downtown dining week and had the Winding Road Perogies, Surf and Turf, and the Crème Caramel. Everything was delicious. The lamb with the Surf and Turf was the best lamb I've ever had!
If you are looking for fine dining at its best, I highly recommend Madison's.
Superb service as usual. Left a note to say it was our anniversary and every server and manager we came across gave their best wishes very warmly. We had the 3 courses for Downtown Dining Week and it was really good though we found the dessert to be a little rubbery. We will continue to visit this special place and recommend to others.!
Excellent menu for Downtown Dining Week. The food and drink was fantastic.
Went during downtown dining week. Have gone before on other occasions and food was great, but this time the food was only mediocre. The menu wasn't as unique in terms of dishes offered. Service was fantastic though.
we ordered three meals and one was cold. instead of just taking it back one of the managers came to the table to confront us and argue that it wasn't.
the waiter was excellent and the other meals were very good, however this confrontation spoiled the meal for us. This was the first time that we ate there and that was unexpected.
All of us in my party enjoyed our recent lunch. Infact my friend is still talking about how much she enjoyed her meal. Fish tacos. Thank you for adding the extra chair gir our friend. Very accomidating as we arrived early gor our reservation and we added one more to our party. CHEERS
The staff was warm and welcoming, the service was wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Nice variety of dessert options.
Unfortunately our fish and chips was very under par. The fish was cooked properly but wasn't very tasty and the chips were undercooked. I have had this at Madison's very many times before and it was always fantastic... I won't go back to have it again.
Always a pleasure. Never a bad experience at Madison's.
Have not been there for about 10 years - the food has always been mediocre. For Valentines, I booked a few weeks in advance... the Sat before, the restaurant called to confirm and see if we wanted to participate in 6 course meal for the 220 price... I said no to the six course as we discussed it earlier. We wanted the regular menu.... A few prior again, the call was made to confirm again our reservation... We when arrived, we were forced (I guess we could have left) to participate in the 6 course.... 350 bucks later (with tip), it was one of the crappiest meals and the service generic. It was like a factory routine. Risotto - I said really? He says.. that is all you can have with the fish... Salad was lame and generic.... the fish was ok... the chocolate cake was dry... All in all - will we ever go back... never!!!! It was less than mediocre.... Decor was nice. My food at home is thousand times better than what we had.
On Valentine’s Day some couples choose to stay in. We on the other hand choose to spend the night together reflecting on the year we have had and what we see in our future. In order to do this we always book a high end restaurant where we believe the service is going to be flawless so that we have time to focus on us with minimal distractions. This time we chose Madison’s Grill. This time we made a mistake. This time , our experience has changed our Valentine’s Day tradition forever.
Our reservation was booked for 730. There was a lady offering to take our jackets to place safely in their complimentary coat check. With confidence we handed in our jackets. Kevin proceeded to approach us to let us know our table was ready. We had to tell him we haven’t received our coat check ticket yet. He marched us over to the coat check, where we saw our jackets sitting on a shelf and he demanded that the lady gave us our tag. She grabbed a random coat tag (58) from a pile. As we sat all we could worry about was our jackets knowing that this was the incorrect tag. We were seated at 7:35 and the coat check lady came by at 745 to ask my boyfriend if his jacket was the Canadian goose. He replied yes(there was ten other Canadian goose jackets ) at 7:50 she came back with my jacket in hand asking “ma’am is this your jacket” I replied “yes” and she walked away. She came back two minutes later saying our hanger broke and gave us a new coat tag (40). It was quit obvious that she was just put under pressure by Kevin to randomly hand us a tag so we could be seated. It is now 7:55 and still no server has been by.
At 8:00pm our server comes by with “CAN I GRAB YOU EACH A GLASS OF WATER?” We could tell he was almost begging us to say yes because he was so busy. I reply “yes..-and” ... he was gone. It is now 815 and the couple sitting next to us who was seated 5 minutes after and still has not been approached walks out..I would like someone to contact me as I am limited to characters
Had brought my wife there for our first Valentines Day as a married couple. The ambiance was great, the menu was outstanding and the service was prompt and friendly. She and I had a great dinning experience and will gladly recommend Madison Grill to anyone looking for an amazing meal and experience.
My husband and I dined at Madison’s Grill as a pre-Valentine date. The restaurant’s ambient environment owes itself to original architecture and is a noted an historical building. We had the pork belly and scallops as appetizers and enjoyed the steal and sea bream for our mains. We both very much enjoyed our meals. The wow in our meal came a the end where we shared the pannacotta. It was sweet corn favoured with a buttery caramel topped with sea salt and whipped cream. It was the perfect sharing dessert! All the flavours were perfectly blended together. The serving staff were very attentive and were welcoming.
We will be back.
Best fish and chips ever!! So tasty. Also wonderful service and great ambiance.
We ate at Madisons on a quiet Sunday evening just before Valentines day. Service was excellent with an efficient yet friendly attitude. The room is quite spacious and laid out in such a way that almost all tables can have private conversations without others hearing them.
We both chose the 3-course tasting menu with wine pairings. The food and wines were all excellent. Our main included one of the best Striploin steaks I have eaten, but we had been hoping that our surprise menu would include their more creative, interesting items.
